Raises funds for and awareness of member charities. Community Shares of Illinois members serve the people and communities of Illinois with the common goal of making our state a better place to live, work and play. Member groups address issues including housing, animal shelter and advocacy, hunger, health, education, domestic violence, the environment, women, children and families.
History
Established in 2003.
Formed by a merger of the Public Interest Fund of Illinois and Illinois Women’s Funding Federation to better address the needs of nonprofits in the state.
