cityHUNT has been running team building experiences and scavenger hunts around the world since 2001. All our events are guaranteed fun or they’re free.

The idea behind cityHUNT was inspired in the fall of 2000, when Ben Hoffman found his way onto one of the teams doing a scavenger hunt birthday– pub tour at NYU. After experiencing the excitement, spontaneity and joy a scavenger hunt brings he knew what he had to do…

A few hours later, two NYU students, Ben Hoffman and Jaymes Dec decided to start a company striving to change the lives of others through the experience of a scavenger hunt. Thus, cityHUNT was born.

From the humble beginnings working in Jaymes’ grandmother’s apartment in Queens cityHUNT has grown into the world’s awesomest team building and scavenger hunt company.

cityHUNT now has offices across the country and works consistently with Fortune 500 and the best start-​ups around the country.

Our goal is to positively impact 10 million lives a year.

Business Owner

Ben Hoffman is the co-​founder and Chief Experience Officer at cityHUNT, since 2001 he has been harnessing the power of positive psychology, corporate team building and adventure to enhance team productivity, employee relations and workplace happiness.

cityHUNT has the privilege of working with many different types of organizations and most of the the Fortune 500 including Google, Whole Foods, and GE. Hoffman has a degree from New York University and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, INC magazine, and is known for his «work doesn’t have to suck» quote on NPR.

Ben has been featured at different conferences across the country including the Gamification Summit, Ignite Your Life, and the Organization Development Conference.
