I placed a delivery order for an orange chicken, a golden sesame chicken, fried rice, crab rangoon, and wonton soup. All around $ 35 total not including the tip i gave. It took over an hour to get to my apartment which is less than a mile up the road and when it was delivered all of the food other than the soup was stone cold. I didn’t receive any sauce to go with the crab rangoon and never even got the fried rice I ordered. When I called to inquire as to where the rest of my order was and why it was so cold when it arrived, all the man told me was that it wasn’t his problem that the food was cold and that if I wanted them to bring me my rice and sauce I ordered, that they would charge me at full price. Horrible customer service. Will not be ordering from here again which is disappointing because I really enjoy the sesame chicken, but I really dislike being cheated out of a meal like this.

I ordered the shrimp and garlic sauce and was served shrimp with about 1.5 cups of pure teriyaki sauce and without vegetables. Gross this wasn’t even eatable. Thankfully, I was close to return this mess of a dinner and was refunded my money. The crab rangoon I ordered was decent, a bit overcooked though.

This is the place you go to when you want a solid lunch on the weekends after a night of partying. The food isn’t of the greatest quality(ie. Beef can be fatty) but the vegetables are always crisp, the shrimp is always big and tasty, and the chicken pieces are large in the fried rice. They also have pretty good bubble tea options, but tonight when I ordered my food at around 8:30, they were out of tapioca balls. They apologized, but it wasn’t that big of a deal. The strawberry and mango smoothie was still delicious. I ordered off their Thai menu just to see what a neighborhood Chinese neighborhood could do with my favorite cuisine. I’d give them 2.5 stars for giving me a «crazy noodle» dish with large fresh shrimp but with noodles that were not too flavored. The noodles were large and not really cooked in any distinct sauce. Overall, if you want a decent meal from here, you can order the typical General Taos chicken or Lo Mein to satisfy your fast food Chinese cravings.

Since relocating to Evanston, it’s my go-to place for Chinese. As good or better than any I’ve eaten in Chicago or the south suburbs. Two thumbs up – and five stars!

First and last time I will ever order from this place. I ordered online and they had my address incorrect for the delivery person. It took over 90 minutes and when I had called to inquire about the delivery time I was hung up on and had to call again. They said it was on its way and it took another 30 minutes. My drink order was incorrect and they omitted an item, and the food was cold.

Been going to China Hut since it was across the street. Pretty good and I’ve tried most everything they make.

I usually order from little wok in Evanston off Main Street which I love their food. However my boyfriend and I decided to try China hut one day as it was closer to our apartment. We ordered the orange chicken, chicken fried rice. And spring roles. The first thing I noticed was the orange chicken was really orange. All I could think of was the amount of food coloring used in the sauce. The rice was extremely greasy and over cooked. The spring roles tasted like I bit into a sponge of grease. Usually when ordering fried rice I’m able to eat off of it the next day but when I looked at it in the refrigerator in the morning it was spewing in grease. I knew going to a place called«China hut» would probably not be gourmet food. But please don’t serve your customers grease bowls.

Best Chinese restaurant in rogers park. In my experience, the service has always been good.

Love the place. And I’ve tried about 80% of the menu over the years. FYI: Went there to order in person once. Saw a roach crawl right across the counter. I pointed it out to the girl. She acted like she didn’t see it. Well, that’s all it took for me. It’s a shame too. I really like their food. And haven’t found any restaurant in the area that can compare. Sometimes I will order due to my children’s insistence. Then my husband points out the incident, and I feel ashamed.: /

Tonight my boyfriend and I tried China Hut for the first time. We ordered the Golden Sesame Chicken and a pineapple bubble tea. The tea was great, but the chicken was a huge disappointment. The«sauce» is so hard and caramelized that every bite will stick to your teeth. The bottom of the dish was coated in a layer of rock-solid sauce. I’m not a picky eater but this was pretty unbearable. I’d recommend the tea, but stay away from the sesame chicken.

Food is great and affordable! The lady taking orders can be a lil ride at times but if you go on a Saturday afternoon you will be greeted by an awesome 10 year old lil girl taking orders!!!

China hut has tasty food but more importantly they have AMAZING customer service! Recently I placed an order and made a mistake. China Hut went above and beyond to help me out. I am now a loyal customer :)

Okay China Hut use to be my go to spot. The love has ended! Ordered mu shu chicken with pancakes. When did tortillas become the pancakes??? I’m nauseous from the mu shu and about to throw up a little literally. Glad I ordered the papaya and mango smoothies. Enough enzymes to quell the nausea. What’s going on, the fresh is gone, funny smells, beige filled plates and grease. Not working people. Not working. So sad. I enjoyed many a meal here. Now I’ll end this diatribe with a trip To the bathroom for some pepto bismol or kaeopectate which ever is needed first.

Terrible beef fried rice. The beef was clearly spoiled. I had to call the city and report it.

This place has what seems like the par for Chicago Chinese take-out. And that’s a bad thing when it comes to quality. Taste is awesome. The sauces are rich and flavorful. But the chicken that comes in such dishes as General Tsao’s and Sesame chicken are all fatty and have very little white meat. It’s mostly breading, which is disappointing because the sauce is so yummy. I haven’t had any issues with delivery, but I live about a mile away. Food arrives hot and quickly. The prices are competitive and they have a valuable lunch special that includes a small entrée, a side of steamed or fried rice, and an egg roll or soda can. The new location is clean and looks nice with plenty of space to eat in. I can’t recommend this place when there are so many other better choices out there, unless they are the only ones open and you need it. Order from En Lai or Lao Sze Chuan in uptown. The former is tasty and well-priced and you’ll have to wait longer and pay more for the latter, but it’s better quality than China Hut.

I used to order from this location all the time when they moved from one side of the street to the other. But quite a few times I got food delivered. Then I went inside the place once when I walked by and watched my food being prepared. I was absolutely grossed out to see the cashier go from taking my order, handling other people’s money and credit cards, to going to make a strawberry smoothie for me. At no point and time did she wash her hands and she peeled the banana with her bare hands. No gloves. The cashiers don’t seem to do anything to protect their hands from touching your food. I stopped going for a couple months after that, but I really do like their Thai fried rice and the crab rangoon so I got a delivery a few months ago. I waited an hour and a half. They claim it takes an hour for delivery but this had bypassed that time. I called back to cancel and as soon as I said how long it’d been and I’d be canceling, a cashier slammed the phone down on me. I called back to speak to a manager. Now there are only 2 or 3 girls in there who answer the phones so I know they know who hung up the phone but all of them played innocent. And while I was on the phone, the delivery guy was at my door. But something about the food just looked gross. Maybe it was all the debating, but I’m convinced something weird was in the sauce. I just find it really convenient that five minutes after I complain, the delivery guy suddenly shows up. And the rice tasted like three-day leftovers. I haven’t been back in that place since November and never will again.

I ordered through : Chicken w/peapods, curry fried rice, and two egg rolls. It would arrive in 40 – 60 minutes, according to eat24. That didn’t happen. Try nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes. An online inquiry to eat24 had indicated that the food was en route. A call to inquire on the order’s whereabouts was rewarded with someone who was unaware that eat24 existed. The food did arrive during the phone inquiry with the otherwise useless person at the restaurant. Aside from the spotty delivery time, the food is generally pretty good.
