I am an owner of a property management company in the Chicagoland area and I refer business the CLM anytime we run into a client or lead that is looking for a service or service area that we do not cover. Along with that I have known the owners of CLM for a number of years after meeting them at a number of industry continuing education meetings. I feel the do a great job and that is why they are the only other company in Chicago that I refer business to. Keep up the great work.

These people are very shady. They will scam you for your security deposit. I had informed them of all issues the about the property I rented. My lease just expired and they took away my money for issues they were already aware of prior to me moving in! Stay away from these scam artists.

The worse leasing company I have dealt with so far. Unprofessional and unresponsive and I hope whoever reads my review to think twice before engaging with this organization.
I just moved to Chicago suburbs and was looking for an apartment to rent near the Schuamburg area for almost a week before I stumbled upon one of this management properties available online, I called them for almost a week before they were able to finally answer me and let me know that the property is available as long as it was showing on their website. I went through the rently app and was able to view the place and ended up to fit what I was looking for. I tried again calling the management to ask if they are accepting application I left voice mails and messages with the reception and ended up by applying for the place anyway so I don’t waste time. Their website stated that it will take one to three business days for their application to get approved and in the meantime I had to deny a similar property with a different management. After waiting two days I was getting anxious because I kept giving up on other opportunities waiting to hear back from this management, so I started calling them again for about two days to check on the status of my application, I finally got someone on the line to tell me to leave a message and that the property Manager (Nora who is never available to take a call) will get back to me regarding my application ASAP, few hours later I called back again and left another message, following that last attempt I received a call from a third person who had no clue who I was or which apartment I had applied for and just turned me down saying that someone else just applied for the property and just signed the lease that same day??! even though I applied for that place four days earlier and they didn’t even bother to run my application or give me an acknowledgement for it. And to add salt to my injury they kept the property online and available for viewing to other apartment seekers even after my call.
So thank you, Chicagoland Leasing and Management for making my last couple weeks all about learning how untrustworthy and unprofessional your institution is and I hope no one else waste their time like I did and just look for other place where they have enough decency and professionalism to call you back within reasonable time frame instead of 10 days to communicate something as easy as yes or no.
For you owners out there who are affiliated with this institution and for whom I read great reviews, you should be on the other side of the spectrum to realize our pain us renters dealing with this type of management, if it took 10 days to reply to three voice mails and three messages for the receptionist just to say that a place is no longer available, I can only imagine what would other have to go through in case something more serious. I hope my review help steer future tenants attention to do the right thing and speak up when mistreated, in hope that someone make sure that this kind of situation don’t happen again.

I have been in a rental managed by Chicagoland Leasing and Management for 3.5 years and I have always been satisfied with their service. They are prompt to respond to service calls and I have always noticed how friendly they are. Just generally really nice people.

Alisa has been a pleasure to work with! She is always kind, courteous, and quick to action my issues concerning my property. The rest of the staff have also been attentive to my needs. I would highly recommend Alisa and the rest of Chicago land leasing to handle your property management. I have use this company for 4 years.

I have used Chicago Leasing for over 2 years now. From the beginning they were extremely easy to work with, responsive, and professional. I contacted several management companies to rent my townhouse and they definitely had the most competitive pricing. I have not had to think about or worry about my townhouse since I started using them. Anytime a repair is needed they contact me immediately, send me quotes for approval, then send someone out to fix what needs fixing. My current tenant has been renting from me the entire time I have used Chicagoland leasing. I really can’t say enough good things.

I inherited a property from my family right after the market crashed in 2008 and didn’t know which direction to go. After doing some research on potential sales prices and my other options, I decided to hire a management company to lease it out and continue the management. I wanted a scenario where I didn’t have to be involved in any facet of the process, from the tenant selection etc to responding to maintenance requests and collecting rent. I had spoken to numerous people who have tried to handle it themselves for their own properties and needless to say, their experiences left much to be desired. I started my search and received some responses from various companies. Chicagoland Leasing and Management stood out from the rest because of their straight forward approach in their communication and information on their pricing. A few of the other companies wouldn’t even tell me what they charged until I scheduled a meeting with them, I wasn’t a big fan of this. I decided to schedule a meeting with one of Chicagoland’s agents, Nora. She came out to my property, answered my questions and then provided comparable listings which helped me make the best decision. After the meeting, I signed the paperwork and they had the property listed within a day or so. It was during the Spring time which I assumed would be a great time to find a tenant. This turned out to be the case and they had secured a qualified tenant within about 2 weeks after it was listed. They were able to get me asking price as well which made me very happy. That was about 6 years ago and since then, they’ve handled everything with my property in spectacular fashion. We’ve had 3 sets of tenants in there and each time, it was able to rent pretty quickly. The property’s condition is still very good as well which after 3 sets of tenants, is a bit surprising. I understand that this experience may be an ideal case but nevertheless, I would recommend their services to anyone who’s looking to lease out their property and get rent deposits on a regular basis.

Renters beware! I was shocked to see so many good reviews for this company… but then realized that all the positive reviews are from owners. Perhaps they treat owners better, but my experience as a tenant was abysmal. Though there were some minor frustrations with slow response time during my first few months renting, for the most part things were ok at first. However, when a neighbors pipe burst and my condo sustained water damage I learned exacy what a TERRIBLE company this is. First, let me point out that the water damage occurred in January and when I moved out in August things yet to be completely fixed. It took them months to replace the drywall that has to be ripped out. Second, when I contacted the home owners association for the condo, I discovered that the unit was NOT EVEN ALLOWED to be legally rented which this company claimed to know nothing about (isnt that their job??). This led to an email from Chicagoland leasing asking if I could just «move out asap» despite the fact that I had a lease for 6 more months. I ended up having to hire a lawyer to write them a letter just to prevent having to find a new place and move at a moment’s notice because they had failed to research the place before drawing up a lease. Additionally, every communication about these issues was painful… it was typical to go weeks without a response to an email and then when I would get a response it wouldn’t relate to questions I had asked. Phone calls were typically not returned at all. At the end, I was able to stay through my lease (thanks to the lawyer) and shockingly I received my deposit back but I can easily say that it was the most stressful, horrible renting situation I have ever experienced, and I have been renting for 10 years with 9 moves.

First of all, what I requested Andrew to provide was the credit history and credit score of the tenant. As the property owner, I understand that the leasing company needs to have a standard minimum required score, but the owner should have the right to know the details and reject the tenant especially when the tenant’s credit had bankruptcy history.
Andrew started pushing more and requested that I accepted that tenant, he said otherwise he would stop working on my property. Because I had to leave at the time, and didn’t have time to find another leasing company, I paid extra money to buy insurance, so that I get paid if the tenant cannot afford the rent.
In the end, the tenant wasn’t as to pay rent and had to move out.
I requested weeks in advance that my representative to go check the house, and was rejected by Andrew. Now that he’s saying it was last minute notice… I have no other words to describe him other than a liar.
We were only allowed to see the house after tenant moved out, after Andrew’s inspection, and after Andrew himself indirectly gave us the key. We found the shelves in the house were all removed from the wall, leaving holes on the wall. However, Andrew told me in the email that everything was fine.
All along the way, Andrew’s communications were subtle, and from time to time misleading. Chicagoland leasing company is not a trustworthy company, and I have all the emails to prove if I need to.

I am not someone who typically takes time to write reviews, but I felt that it was necessary to acknowledge the efforts to make owning a property with renters a painless process. We were fortunate to work with Andrew Starck, and from the first meeting he made the process effortless for us. Chicagoland Leasing found quality tenants and managed our property on a day to day basis for us.
They handled necessary communication with the City, and Homeowner’s Association. I was able to avoid handling the tedious details and only contacted when necessary, or when he was replying to questions I had. I always received responses within a day, and follow ups were made very quickly on pending items.
I would recommend the team at Chicagoland Leasing if managing properties is not something you want to do, so you can continue your day to day living not worrying about late night calls or emergency outages. They will handle all the details and contact you for necessary approvals that you request.

Chicagoland Leasing and more specifically Andrew have been a great help in finding suitable tenants for our condo.
As my family grew so did our housing needs and we would not be able to manage two mortgages with the risk of finding qualified renters.

My family recently rented a home in Brookfield, IL, through this leasing company. The house was perfect for our family, with only a few minor issues such as nails and holes in the walls that weren’t fixed or even taken out, but this was not a big issue. We took great care of this home and unfortunately after only a year my fiancé received a promotion and we had to break our lease. We hired a company to care of the lawn and had the home thoroughly cleaned, even the basement. Our move out date was September 26^th, and we were told that the home would be rented out again on the 15^th of November and we would then receive an itemized bill as well as our security deposit in the mail shortly thereafter. It is now December and we have not even received an itemized bill, which I believe is something that could be easily emailed. We also tried through email and numerous phone calls to get ahold of our agent, with no response, until a few days ago. The first excuse was due to the holiday, although Thansgiving day is the only day post is not working. Then we were told both the bill and deposit were over nighted to us. It has been 3 days since that conversation and still nothing. We are very disappointed in the lack of communication from this agent. We just bought our own home and would just love to wrap up the loose ends on the rented home. We never had a problem during our year of living there, and payments were super easy, it has just been a hassle trying to get everything tied up.

I kinda stumbled into CLM. I was just moving to Chicagoland from Michigan on a relocation, I was working with a Realtor to find a rental property and the house I decided was the perfect fit was managed by CLM. I had a ton of questions and a lot of trepidation since I had never rented a home before (only apartments where management was on site) but Mark at CLM was awesome!
The house was great, any questions or concerns I had he took care of right away. And unfortunately, I was relocated again and had to break my lease early and Mark was there to help me walk through everything I needed to do to end the agreement appropriately. Mark gave absolutely great service and always responded very quickly to any needs or questions I had.
I highly recommend CLM to anyone considering one of their properties.

I contracted Andrew and Chicagoland Leasing & Management to manage the rental of my house starting in September of 2010. I was relocated to another country for 2 years on a job assignment and needed to find someone to manage the rental of my house during my two year absence.
Andrew came to the house, took photographs, listed the rental and found qualified tenants within 1 week of signing the property management agreement. The tenants occupied my house for the two years I was gone. Chicagoland Leasing and Management dealt with several required repairs in appliances and plumbing during that time promptly facilitating the repair at reasonable rates.
When the house was returned to me two weeks ago I found it in the same condition as it was when I left it two years ago. I attribute this largely to the identification of tenants and management of the property by Andrew and the Chicagoland Leasing & Management team. I highly recommend them if you are in need of property management service.

I hired Andy from Chicagoland Leasing and Management, if you are looking for a good company to manage your property keep looking !!! My experiance started out fine enough, but soon I was doing all of the management for my IL property from FL.
Reponse time was terrible, my renter hated working with them and in order for me to get any reports or tax documentation took multiple emails.
Seven months after I released them from managing my property, he forwarded an email from an owner of antherr property that he is working with telling MY renter that there was going to be a showing at My rental… I was not selling!!!
Needless to say my renter was very worried and for no reason!!! Now I hope I can fix the damage that Andy has caused by spooking a Great renter!

I Highly recommend Chicagoland Leasing and Management to manage your residential property. At the time I was planning my move to California for a job transfer from Chicago and was in the process of trying to sell my condo. Unfortunately I wasn’t getting the right offers and decided to look into other options. I started doing some research and contacted Chicagoland leasing. Andy was the agent that came over and he did a walk thru of the property and told me what I would need to do in order to put the condo on the rental market. He also showed me active rental listings and comparables that have recently leased in the neighborhood. He was very knowledgable and answered my list of concerns. Now that I am living in California I feel comfortable knowing that Andy and Chicagoland is watching over my condo.

Working with Andy (our point of contact at Chicagoland Leasing) for our rental at 1332 W Madison was one of the more grueling, absurd experiences I have yet to endure with a housing representative, not just in Chicago, but ever. From the extremely pro-​longed/​limited e-​mail response times (including updates when the door code changed) to extremely pro-​longed service requests (documented up to 120 days), our positive experience in west loop was tarnished following numerous confrontations and disagreements of what was «right» with regards to our comfort (we spent a night in the cold when our thermostat broke and no emergency repair service was called following our request.)
I really wish I had better things to say as I love to extend compliments to businesses that provide quality service, above and beyond the status quo… However, the «childish» correspondence with this one individual has made it extremely difficult to pinpoint the positives.

I also have a rental property in a northwest suburb and it was becoming difficult to manage it from out of state. I was searching for a property manager for a while and almost went with someone else before I found Chicagoland Leasing. I filled out an online info request form and Andy responded quickly with all the details in a professional format (much better than most companies). My unit was rented the first day it was available! Andy always responds to my email or phone call promptly and has a staff to handle the billing and maintenance issues. When the washer stopped working, they called a repair company and coordinated everything. I get notified every month with a breakdown of the income and fees, then it is deposited in my account within 2 – 3 days. I would highly recommend Chicagoland Leasing if you need a property manager in the Chicago area.

I have 2 rental properties that I have been dealing with myself for the past 5 years. My Husband and I decided to look into other options and found this company on Craigslist. The initial meeting was quick to happen and we were very happy after we met with Andy. To know he was going to handle all issue for a small monthly fee was worth every penny!
It was so great knowing he was going to handle it all! Since then Andrew has rented both units, our duplex has had no issues and our townhome had a minor plumber issue along with the tenant locking himself out on a FRIDAY (of all nights) night! I was sooooooooooo glad to hear Andy immediatly took care of not only the plumbing issue, but got my tennant back into his unit in under an hour. For me, its great having Andrew because he has existing relationships with vendors and both the plumbing and locksmith were reasonably priced!!! Before I would have had to of called 3 lock smiths to shop around. Now, Andrew handles it and keeps me posted on whats going on! Thanks Chicagoland for making my life easier!

Chicagoland found our tenant and has been managing our home for a little over 10 months. To date I have been pleased with the service provided, I receive my rent deposit monthly around the 10^th (+/​-​5 days). Other than the initial meeting and a few calls/​e-​mails while setting up I have not had much other contact w/​Andrew, during that time he was responsive to my calls (no greater than 24h turnaround). The tenants did put some inappropriate items in the dish disposer a few months ago which resulted in the need for a plumber, the fee for service/​repair was less than $ 100 and deducted from my monthly payment with an electronic copy of the plumber receipt provided, seemed reasonable. I’m hoping our tenant plans to stay for greater than 12 months, but if they do move in June I plan to renew.
