History
Established in 1949.
Chicago Hardware was founded in 1949 at our same location. In 1952 we became one of the first 100 True Value Hardware stores in the country. In fact, we were the first city store signed up by True Value. It has remained in the Copeland family this entire time. The founders of Chicago True Value –Elmer and Paul Copeland– grew up on a farm on 106th and Homan in 1913! We are proud of our history here in Mt Greenwood.
