Chicago in Home Veterinary Care

My cats and I love Dr. Dawn! I have one kitty who gets very anxious about traveling and when I moved to north to Rogers Park I knew my previous vet was just too far. He is a young cat and has had a lot of digestive challenges so he needs some ongoing care. I found Chicago In Home Vet care online and was impressed by the good reviews. They were all spot on! Dr. Dawn is fabulous! She is easy to get in touch with via phone or text and is very flexible as well. I have had weekend and evening appointments which works great for me and my work schedule. She is also very friendly and does a WONDERFUL job of making the pets comfortable during exams and is very knowledgeable. Her prices are very reasonable too! It’s so reassuring to know I have a responsive and caring vet for whenever my cats are sick and for wellness check-​ups. Dr. Dawn rocks!

Dawn is a miracle worker! Our greyhound had stomach problems for years, and Dawn proscribed food that helped him immediately. She has always gone above and beyond for our boy, I can’t give her enough stars!

In home veterinary care, what a treat!
I just moved to Chicago and Godzilla (my little but fearless yorkie) needed a consultation. I emailed CIHV and Dawn got back to me on the same day, I was able to get an appointment for that afternoon. She was very friendly and professional. Godzilla usually gets very anxious and nervous when we go to the vet, but having the vet come to us took away all his fear.
Dawn is very knowledgeable, she was able to look at his medical records and make some recommendations that I will definitely be following. Godzila was weighted and gently examined, and we got his prescription made at a compound pharmacy. I was even able to pick the flavor for his medicine and choose if it would be in the form of treats or drops.
I am beyond happy with the service and plan to have Dawn as our vet in Chicago!

Dr. Dawn Straily is the best! She has been taking care of our dog for two years. We chose CIHV for the convenience of having the vet come to our house, and we have been so happy with her service. After calling several in home veterinarians for an appointment on short notice (4^th of July weekend), Dawn was the only one to get back to us and came out the very next morning at 8am to help us with our 19 year old cat. She was super friendly, kind, and very thoughtful with her advice. And the price for her visit was far far less than what I was expecting. Combine that with the fact that we didn’t have to stress out our cat any more than he already was by putting him in a carrier and driving him to his vet, I can’t imagine ever taking our pets to anyone else.

I’m so happy I found Chicago In Home Veterinary! Dawn is great and super patient and it’s so nice not to have to get a zipcar and stuff my cat in a carrier and lug him and the dog around town only to have them get all stressed out and upset. Usually my cat comes home from a trip to the vet only to hide from me for a day or 2 (he really holds a grudge) but when Dawn came to us he didn’t even run away after his shots! Dawn even found a problem with my cat’s teeth that our previous vet had been missing. My furkids are so much happier with this service!
I think the prices are very reasonable too. We used to go to Gold Coast Animal Hospital which is pricey but with Dawn we don’t have to pay for a zipcar or cab or wait around at the vet for hours. So much better all around!

We started working with Chicago In Home Veterinary Care way back when only had two cats. We had a senior kitty that hated the car (do any cats enjoy a car ride?) and started looking for a way to keep his health in check and his stress levels at a minimum. Enter in home vet care. We’re so happy we found Dawn!
Over the years, our furry family has grown to include 2 doggies + 2 kitties (and we are now at our max!). Dawn makes sure that all of the animals are up to date on shots and is the first person I call when one of the animals is not feeling well. Dawn is always quick to respond and come by to take care of the animals. She has prescribed medication, taken out stitches (don’t ask), advised on our pets diets (some are chubbier than they should be) and generally cares for our animals just as much as we do. All in the comfort of our own home.
When a pet emergency, teeth cleaning comes up or something that can’t be done in our home and I have to load the animals in the car to the neighborhood vet, I realize how grateful we are for in home care. No waiting rooms, no nervous animals in unfamiliar areas, no unnecessary lab fees, etc. It doesn’t get more convenient than this folks!
