We assist with Responding to RFP’s, Offer Training Workshops in Grant Writing and Business Plans, and Work with Individuals and Groups with Language Barriers.

History

Established in 1984.

Chandra M. Hooks holds a B.A. in Business Writing for the Private and Nonprofit Sectors and a M.A. in Communicating Strategies, Techniques, and Methodologies for Business Writing for the Private and Nonprofit Sectors. Both of her degrees are from DePaul University. She has consulted to and for nonprofits in a variety of grant solicitation formats that include grant writing, strategic planning, development, and board and policy formation. Ms. Hooks has influenced grant procurement for faith based organizations, and secured donations for a number of Chicago inner-​city nonprofit organizations. She has designed, developed, and taught writing workshops for the University of Illinois Extension, the SBDC at Chicago State University, and for Community Education Iniatives.

Business Owner

Chandra’s first business was Complete Resume Service located in Hyde Park. Due to client demand, she added additional writing services and re-​organized as Hooks & Associates, Inc. In 2006, she formed Chandra M. Hooks & Associates. Her training was provided by the federal government through the S.B.A., the State of Illinois, Donors Forum, and via an International Educational Conference sponsored by the Association of Lutheran Development Executives.
