Hidden taco joint in a grocery store, very generous portions, but a hidden gem. Cheap and well worth it, they close early(8pm) so take it to go.

Now visited nearly fifty occasions. Mellow, even at peak times, unlike its California brother. Carnitas, carnitas, carnitas, all day, every day. Massive portions. Free roasted jalapeño chile. $ 1.39 tacos, sometimes lomo encebollado, sometimes al pastor. No trompo in sight, however. The construction of the burritos tends to be loose, but don’t have a cow, just grab some utensils!

This is a true hidden gem inside the grocery store! Not only are their steak tacos the best around here but they are also cheap! You see the cooks grilling the meat there in front of you. Their steak tacos are awesome and usually what I order here.

My favorite tacos, hands down… too bad they close at 8 tho. This forces me to go to comales(meh), Pasadita(but they just closed my favorite one) or TBK when I get a late night craving. These guanajuato taco places are inside a Mexican supermarket so they are pretty small… but you will not be disappointed :)

The helpings are great on their always fresh traditionally topped cilantro and onion tacos! Other than avocado, I wouldnt dare add any other toppings… this is the first for me. Their service is great and the wait is always minimal. The biggest plus is that they are always consistent with taste & have never let me down! The only downside to their establishment is that they’re part of a grocery store, so they close early and I can’t enjoy holding a family gathering to brag about their food, thank you guys!

Good fruit — but IMHO the best tacos in the city(torta y taqueria in the back). If there are tacos in Chicago that approach the quality you’ll find in San Francisco’s Mission District, Guanajuato makes ‘em.
