open late, old school place that has been kept clean and proper that still serves a great pizza! Very happy to live close to here

I despise salads, usualy too many leaves and not enough flavor. The Candlelite salad changed my mind. They pile on the fruit, nuts, and cheese. Plenty of dressing and the raspberry vinaigrette is amazing!
I did a pick-​up order tonight for the first time, very timely and polite.
I have been ordering delivery for a few months now and have never been dissatisfied. Even on a busy night, most I have waited for delivery is forty-​five minutes, the least is twenty minutes. Rain, snow, boiling heat, they come with a smile. on their faces.
Nice sized portions and fair pricing! Highly recommended for a moderate bite to eat.

My favorite place. Great food, great service. Theres nowhere me and the gf like better to take in a Hawks game. The salads are delicious and come almost instantly. I think we’ve tried all the appetizers at this point and have enjoyed every one. We’re thin crust pizza enthusiasts and the thin pizzas here are brilliant and are ready very quickly. The margherita is my favorite. I go for light basil and extra tomatoes and they never disappoint. And two for one pizza tuesdays is… simply amazing. The staff treat you like you want to be treated; like a person. They are helpful and honest and always pleasant. They have a fine bar and the selection always pleases my gf (shes the drinker between us, and is somewhat picky). Even when its crowded and busy its never difficult to get the attention of the staff for whatever you need. Has a great atmosphere. Very down to earth, very real, and almost with a sense of community, or belonging. Reminds me of the show «Cheers» but with more tvs lol. We love this place! Cant say enough good things about it. If youre thinking about going, just go. Try it. You wont be disappointed, and if its not your cup of tea, that should be identifiable right off the jump. If it is your type of place I guarantee youll love it.

Great poutine and wings were awesome. We also tried the Mac and cheese pizza. It was very tasty. Oh Cider is on tap! You must try the skillet cookie for dessert! Very friendly staff.

I’ll start by saying the service was great even though they were fairly busy last night. I was greeted and asked for my drink order immediately when I walked in and sat at the bar.
My friend and I ordered BBQ wings and a medium thin crust bacon pizza. They came out quickly and we’re both very good.
The wings were cooked perfectly and the BBQ sauce had good flavor.
The thin crust pizza was awesome. It had a good amount of cheese which made me worry that it was going to be one of those floppy and flaccid thin crust pizzas. However that was not the case. This pizza was perfect. Nice and crispy without being burnt. Loved it. Definitely recommend.

I had Candlelite Chicago delivered the other day (through Postmates) and it was delicious! I had never had Candlelite before. I selected them because their prices were very reasonable and their menu items looks delicious. I ended up getting a Mac and Cheese pizza which was insanely amazing! I will definitely be ordering again.

Grabbed some pizzas yesterday for the house. Still phenomenal (crispy thin crust!) food, service and atmosphere. The ever present owner at the door with a smile, as expected.

This is our family go to spot, owners originally wanted to have a sports bar but slowly older parents with kids found the good food and service to their liking, owners adapted.

This not so hidden gem is a neighborhood favorite. With friendly staff, great owners, and fantastic food, it doesn’t get much better for the Rogers Park/​Evanston community. I have not had a single bad experience at Candlelight Chicago, in fact just the contrary. Every experience and every drink and every bite has been nothing short of fantastic. Kid and Black Hawk fan friendly this joint will leave you feeling like you are a part of a family. Try the Flaming Italian Beef pizza on a buy one get two pizza Tuesday. My wife and I live for Candlelight Pizza Tuesday!

Walking into this place to eat and it was more of a bar environment than restaurant. I ordered the bbq smokehouse burger and it was an okay burger. I’ve had better. I highly recommend trying their garlic fries. I will go again to try their thin crust pizzas.

Two Two-​for-​Tuesday experiences in the last two months have confirmed they’re back! BBQ chicken pizza has been crispy crusted, sauce again marvelously tangy, spicy and tasty, loaded with cheeses, white meat chicken chunks, fresh red onions and cilantro. Straight sausage pizza was right up there with the best bar pizzas we’ve ever had.
The servers both were marvelous, with Stephanie a restaurant patron’s dream, extremely efficient and kind. Bartenders made excellent black and tans and Bombay Sapphire g&ts. The environment was clean, freshened, comfortable and inviting.
A Monday evening visit for their Slow Roasted BBQ Brisket Sandwich found it to be delicious! That marvelously tangy barbecue sauce, a good sized portion of tender meat on pretzel roll, sided with their above average house made cole slaw and thick fries. One to return for again and again.
For us, this is very good news. Thanks, Pete and Patrick and all the Candlelite Chicago staff. Our lives are again a bit better because of you.

Candlelite is a bit off the beaten path, at the edge of the city about 2 blocks before it becomes Evanston. I used to work in the area, which is the only reason I know about this little gem.
It’s a divey sports bar atmosphere, but the food and service are good enough that I drive all the way over there at least once a month. The pizza is the standout — great Chicago style thin-​crust pizza, hot and fresh. One of my favorite places in the city for thin crust pizza.
Also, the owners and staff are always in a great mood, the service is fast and friendly, and you can park right out front. They do also have a good selection of craft beer for such a small place.
If you’re in this hood and looking for good bar food, this is the place to be!

I had high expectations for Candlelite after seeing it on a Chicago Best segment. I love Pat’s thin and thought that this would be up to the task but the pizzas were disappointing.
For starters, we had the buffalo wings and cheese curds. Both were so so.
For pizzas, we ordered a large Italian Meat Lovers and Candlelite White. When the pizzas came out they looked great. I was excited to try the great looking crust. The thin crust was tasteless. For the Italian Meat Lovers, the meat toppings were subpar. However, the Candlelite White pizza was pretty tasty (not taking into consideration the meh crust). The toppings melded together well.
Overall, I would not go back. However, the service was great.

I’m giving it two stars for the homemade creamy garlic dressing and the fried pickles… we were disappointed. Reasons: read about this place close to my neighborhood on one of those top pizza in Chicago blogs. It wasn’t what we expected. Atmosphere was great, what was bad was the dirty spoon, 20 minutes waiting to be acknowledged, cold chili, non existent service (no really) and pizza that looked and tasted like those 10/​$ 10 frozen Totino pizzas at grocery store. Should have realized what we were getting into before we went. We thought the pizzas must be spectacular for a server to ignore us that long… or so we were hoping. It was crowded with a lot of regulars it seemed. But I should have guessed when I saw a lot of mussels and burgers on the tables that we picked the wrong items to order.

Never tried a white pizza before coming here and it was really good a must try. The garlic fries were extremely addicting as well as the fried pickles
If you want to hold a party and want your name on the outside this is the place for you.

A review for take-​out only. Great thin-​crust pub-​style pizza. The crust held up on the trip back to Uptown. The toppings get heaped on. It’s awesome.
The ordering app on the website is very user-​friendly and convienent.

Do you want to see your name (or perhaps that of a friend) in lights? Candlelite will accommodate that desire if you are planning an event there. Maybe that sign will even make it into their archive of past commemorations?
We were invitees to a friend’s birthday party and the first thing we spotted from a block away was that special sign. Once inside, the room was festive, but with plenty of space so you don’t feel like a sardine. The bar has a full array of brews on tap, including a good selection of IPAs of the season.
Our friend’s party was sharing the restaurant with perhaps other groups and couples having the night out. All were coexisting without any problems in space or service. While a few attendees were ensconced around the bar, Candlelite had set up several tables in one corner just for the party. One had several platters of crudités, shrimp tacos, and other bar snacks. Pretty tasty stuff! Some people were noshing on some of the medium size pizzas the restaurant is known for. That’s what I’d come back for.
