Calypso Café, sister restaurant to Dixie Kitchen, is a hidden gem in the great neighborhood of Hyde Park. We are located in Harper Court near the intersection of 53rd and Lake Park, 5 blocks West of Lake Shore Drive. We have built a strong reputation in the area for great food, service, drinks and atmosphere. Once you find us, you will never forget us! Recently featured on Check, Please where we recieved very positive reviews from all three panelists. Also, happy to be President-​Elect barack Obama’s favorite restaurant, recently featured on Access Hollywood, in the New York Times, and numerous International publications.

Sheridan S.

Manager

Sheridan Simon is the General Manager of this hidden gem of Hyde Park. He has been the General Manager for over 3 years and has spent time within the company before that with Dixie Kitchen as General Manager. He began his career with Levy Restaurants at Blackhawk Lodge and later, at Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap, where he was General Manager. Sheridan has worked in every aspect of the restaurant industry and brings fresh ideas and a dedicated work ethic to Calypso Café. During his time at Calypso, the restaurant has been featured on Check, Please and recieved incredibly positive reviews from all three panelists. Also, the restaurant has gotten alot of attention ever since Barack and Michelle Obama said it was their favorite restaurant in Hyde Park, being featured in the New York Times, on Access Hollywood, and many other publications. This new attention has opened the world up to Calypso Café and the delicious cuisine it offers.
