C. Wesley Barnett, DDS PC

Dr. Barnett is great!!! Other dentists always hurt a lot.
The entire office is so friendly and easy going its really relaxing.
My kids even switched from the kids friendly dentist to his professional and even more friendly (without the fort) office.

I have been going to Dr. Barnett for more than 30 years. He has been practicing for more than 40 years, is highly skilled, will answer all of your questions in complete detail, will do ONLY the work that is necessary and is fairly priced. But by far the most important factor, is that he is someone who you can completely trust, which is of so much importance when it comes to a dentist. When I first went to him, it was after another dentist had told me that I had to get extensive work done including a bridge and it was going to be a minimum of a thousand dollars. I then saw Dr. Barnett and his partner at the time, and they told me that I needed a really good cleaning and had a small cavity.
I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted after he told me TEN YEARS AGO that it could wait. And I did… obviously.
In short, the most trustworthy and excellent dentist I have known and will go to him until he decides to retire.

I’ve only been to Dr. Barnett once and definitely plan on going back. I thought the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and though Dr. Barnett didn’t have to do too much to my teeth he was very pleasant. Also, when you recommend your friends they give you a gift card to best buy!
Also, its a perfect location in the loop by the Wash/​Wells brown line stop, and you don’t have to call months in advance for appointments like some dentists.

OMG!!! I can’t believe the person who wrote the review before me!!! WHO THE HELL WAS HE GOING TO SEE??? IT CLEARLY WASN’T THE SAME DR. BARNETT I SEE!!!
I am horrifically scared of the dentist, and I mean extreme TERROR… I went into several dental offices to kind of «interview» the office and the dentist. I walked into Dr. Barnett’s office and they were SOOOO nice!!! I told them my fear and terror of the dentist and Teri, the hygienist came out and took me for a tour. She showed me around, gave me some toothpaste to use since I told her a medication I was taking was causing dry mouth. She looked at my teeth, Dr. Barnett came in and looked at me, at NO CHARGE and WITH NOT APPT. and I knew right then I was going to set an appointment. So before I left I did. I came in and had my cleaning and exam, Teri was AMAZING, so gentle and so comforting. They found a cavity, I had never had one before and I am 28, which horrified me. So Dr. Barnett said he would give me a little Valium to calm me down before I get the filling. So I came in the next day and he gave me the Novocaine, and I was afraid I wasn’t numb enough so he gave me a little more, he drilled, and before he started he said to me to go ahead and put my headphones in, so I did, and when he was done drilling which was about 5 minutes later, he tapped my shoulder and said, we are done, now we just have to fill it. I no longer have my terror, which I have had my entire life. He is AMAZING and I would tell EVERYONE to go to him… Dr. Barnett and his staff are just AMAZING AND WONDERFUL!!! PERFECT for people, like myself, who work in the Loop… go during your lunch break… it is SOOO close to you!!! And with how AMAZING they are… I would go ANYTIME of day!!!

I have had consistently bad experiences with Dr. Barnett. Not only is the visit itself painful, but my teeth feel uncomfortable for months afterward. Barnett is a straightforward and no-​bullshit kind of guy; unfortunately, this attitude extends to his having zero regard for his patients’ feelings.
Today, for instance, I had a few cavities filled. Three times during the drilling process, I cried out in pain. The first two times, he gave me another novocaine shot and kept drilling. The third time, he kept drilling despite the pain, saying that he was «almost through.»
I also had him touch up a filling he did several months ago, which never felt comfortable. Saying that I wouldn’t feel anything, he started to drill a tooth on the side of my face that had not been numbed! It was excruciating, and I had to scream out to get him to stop.
Overall, I feel that he does a sloppy job. All of the experiences I have had with him have been unsatisfactory, but today’s visit convinced me that I need to switch to a different dentist.
