This is your chance to see behind the scenes of working breweries in Chicagoland. Learn how beer is made and meet the people who make Chicagoland beer great. A true VIP experience that includes one or more of the following: meeting the brewers, learning how quality beers are created from grain to bottle, in a working brewery.

This is an educational and personalized experience that will forever change the way you taste and think about beer, especially the beer being produced at the facilities you are visiting.

In short, we have fun highlighting what makes American craft beers so special and why we are so passionate about our beer.

There are tastings at every brewery with the ability to purchase at those breweries who offer growlers and package sales. There is a cooler on the bus to keep your purchases cold.

These are behind the scenes tours so capacity is limited to 12 so sign up today to reserve your spot.

History

Established in 2013.

Brews Cruise officially launched in Asheville in 2006. Brews Cruise is passionate about fine crafted beers, and were so impressed with the exceptional breweries in Asheville, NC they decided to share our enthusiasm by creating a mobile tour experience for our guests. After much success and local community support, Brews Cruise decided to expand this concept into different markets including Charlotte, NC, Charleston, SC, Atlanta, GA, Denver, CO and now Chicago, IL with our great partner Rick Julien.

We hope you that you take a tour, and spread the word because we believe you’ll agree — no matter what city you are in, our country’s brewing scene is worth bragging about!

Awesome experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Begyle Brewery was awesome — got to talk with 2 of the 3 founders and drink some delicious and very generous samples.
Well worth the money! I’ve been talking it up to my friends all week. Definitely recommended.

My girlfriend and I are both from Pittsburgh and spent a long weekend in Chicago in June. We tried to book a tour with Brews Cruise through Groupon, but they were sold out, so we booked through the Brews Cruise website. Our tour was on a Friday from around 12:30 — 4:30 and consisted of visiting three breweries: Goose Island (which isn’t normally open to the public), Revolution Brewing, and Lake Effect Brewing. We spent about 45mins to an hour at each facility, where we learned about their beers, spoke with brewmasters, and were allowed to sample three or four beers each.
Rick, the owner and tour guide, was very personable and knowledgeable. He made sure no one got lost, and provided water and snacks on the bus. He knows a lot about beer and the Chicago beer scene and was able to provide a lot of background information for us since we weren’t from Chicago. All-​in-​all, it was a fantastic tour and I would go again if given the chance. I would recommend it to anyone who is into craft beer, or just looking for a fun way to spend the day!

What a great way to spend our Saturday morning and afternoon. My husband and I booked the Chicago Brews Cruise with zero expectations aside from trying out new beers from breweries we’ve never heard of. All I have to say now is that it was definitely money well spent… bus was comfortable, the guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and the three breweries we went to were worth the trip. I felt that we went beer gulping more that beer tasting because the servings were pretty hefty. I would do this all over again, mostly for the rides to different breweries and the continued ed. on the beer making process. Pretty darn interesting! 100% recommended it!

Me and my boyfriend recently did the tour and we had such a great time! it was so much fun and so interesting to learn about the process of making beer. We were able to sample so many different kinds of beers so if you love trying new beers and love beer in general, i definitely recommend the tour. The tour guide is great and was extremely knowledgeable about beer. It is a great deal, you get a lot out of it for the price :).

We did the city tour and it was an awesome way to spend a Friday afternoon. Admittedly, I signed up to see the Goose Island production facility which was extremely cool to see since it’s not open to the public very often. Though, we also got to see other sized breweries like Revolution and Lake Effect Brewing. It was neat to see the same practices and processes applied to different sized operations.
The guide and owner, Rick, is very knowledgeable about beer and the brewing process. He also provides insight to the Chicago brewing scene and the explosion of breweries that has happened in the past few years. Rick provides water and snacks on the bus to help keep you hydrated and nourished!
I would suggest this tour to both the beer enthusiast and those that are looking to learn more about the local beer scene. This could provide for a good birthday or bachelor/​bachelorette party outing as well.
