Ein typisch amerikanisches Pub wie man es sich vorstellt. Beim Reinkommen wird man begrüßt und an den Tisch gebracht, das Lokal ist sehr weitläufig und ich denke Platzprobleme hat man hier selten. Überall sind Fernseher angebracht auf denen man diverse Sportereignisse verfolgen kann. Die Musik ist für meinen Geschmack zu laut, eine Unterhaltung ist etwas mühsam. Die Speisekarte umfasst diverses Pubfood, das meiste kommt aus der Friteuse und ist wahnsinnig kalorienhaltig. Ich hatte einen Burger, der okay war, aber meine Welt auch nicht nachträglich revolutionieren wird.
Für ein schnelles Treffen okay, aber für mich kommt hier nicht wirklich Stimmung auf.

Not getting out to the city much I was pleasantly surprised by how friendly our bartender was.
She suggested the Stir fry which was perfect for my diet and had a good amount of kick.
Drinks never went empty.
Atmosphere was cool with music videos on some of the screens and sports channels on the others.
Upon leaving we where sincerely thanked for our visit.
Will be back to enjoy the patio in the warmer months.

Came here for appetizers and drinks with friends. Our serve was sean, he was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu. Great service, awesome atmosphere and the music they play here is great!

I love the atmosphere here and their food is phenomenal. Unfortunately tonight the bartenders stunk. I thought I was in for a good night having come here alone, thinking they’d be a little more attentive because of that fact. However, after a great meal and glass of wine, I sat for a solid 10 minutes without a drink before I had to get someone’s attention to order another one. Isn’t it customary for a bartender to notice an empty glass and ask if the patron wants another? Three bartenders and none ever asked and kept walking right on past. They need a little extra training in the customer service department if you ask me. Otherwise my night was pleasant and my meal, delicious.

Came in for after dinner drinks with a friend, have to say, incredible service. Bartender was very attentive and was right on time when both my friend and I were ready for our second. Great atmosphere with tons of HD TV’s, great for any sporting event. Looking forward to watching the Super Bowl there, already got my buddies and I a table. Highly recommend this place for any occasion.

I returned here last night to give them another shot. I was contacted by a manager about my previous experience and she was genuinely concerned that I didn’t have a great time. We went back for dinner last night 1÷31÷16 and had a completely different experience! We were there about 5:30 on a Sunday, walked right in and were given a choice for a booth or table.
Our waitress was awesome! So sorry I forgot to get her name but she had a cute short haircut and was working around 5:30. We had a flatbread, a couple cocktails and did the special menu for restaurant week. $ 33 for one cocktail, starter, entrée and dessert and if you know river north you know what a great deal that is! I had a Martini, the queso appetizer, the filet mignon and cheesecake which seriously melted in my mouth. So good!
I truly believe customer service makes or breaks a business. Even though the food was already really tasty, having an attentive waitress made for a really pleasant evening. I’ll definitely be returning, thank you BlackFinn for redeeming yourself!

A friend and I stopped in to Blackfinn for dinner on Saturday night and had a wonderful experience.
Not only were the bartenders (all three of them we interacted with) fantastic (friendly and provided great service) but the food was delicious! While perusing the menu the bartender informed us that it was Restaurant Week and showed us the menu. We couldn’t pass it up and went with filets. With the deal, which was SOLID, you go a drink (we had a beer), a starter (we had salad and soup, both tasty), a main (we both had a filet w/​asparagus and mashed potatoes), and a dessert (we actually had to leave quickly — long story, totally my fault haha — and didn’t get to enjoy the dessert). What a deal!
We had a fantastic dinner experience and would certainly return again in the future.

Came by for Chicago’s Restaurant week 2016. Nice selection, comfortable atmosphere, and a friendly staff.

Went there for Restaurant week. The food was good. Had the pretzel app and steak dinner. Food was good. Service was not good. I may try it again but I was not happy with the service.

I ordered take out on a Sunday late afternoon. I walked into the establishment to place my order because no one answered the phone (I live close by). I ordered the chicken stirfry and side order of brussel sprouts, which I’ve had both previously. Brussel sprouts were okay. The stirfry was not that good, and had additional ingredients in it that were not on the menu (white onions, bacon?) and missing (no green onion) or not enough of what should be in there (snow peas, broccoli) — all weighed down with a heavy sauce that was too oily. I expected better from this place… and no excuse that it was a busy football Sunday crowd. I wont be ordering from here again.

I came here with three friends after seeing the prixe fixe menu for restaurant week. I set a reservation for 6:30 on a Friday night and we were seated promptly. The bar was crowded, it seemed like it was a happy hour kind of place because by the time we were leaving at 10:30 it was pretty empty. Once seated, the service was quite slow, 2 of us got there first and ordered a drink with our waiter after about 10 minutes. Five minutes later, he comes with her glass of wine, but did not bring mine. He then asked if I would like something to drink. I repeated me order and he went to put my drink order in (again?). I ended up waiting another 15 – 20 minutes to get my drink (after checking with him again he made up an excuse about the bar being backed up) so by the time I got my drink I was kind of frustrated.
When it comes to the food, everything we tried was delicious. Each of us got to choose an appetizer so we tried three different ones — the pretzels, chips with queso dip, and french fries. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and for the dessert the funnel cake fries and cheesecake were perfect! We all loved the raspberry dipping sauce served with the funnel cake fries.
All in all I would say it was a pleasant experience minus a few hiccups (one of my friend’s glasses of wine had lipstick on it) and slower service, however our server did pick up one of our rounds so I thought that was a very nice touch to make up for the minor issues (and made me go from three to four stars).
I would definitely come again, but I would probably avoid busy times or make sure I’m not in a hurry!

Eh. This place was just ok. I wouldn’t go back.
Came last Saturday Night for a birthday dinner, at 730 and it was empty. My friend chose this place because the menu has like everything on it, so options for everyone.
Food was just okay. I order the steak with 2 sides, which I chose The Brussels sprouts which were really good and and sweet potato mash, maybe I should of just order a bunch of sides, b/​c those were good. The steak itself was just okay, I would not order it again. My friend order the Ginger Tuna, and I think she liked it. Another girl got the stir-​fry, and she didn’t complain so I guess that means it was good enough. I really didn’t pay attention to what anyone else order.
Service was agonizingly slow for it being so empty. At first the waiter was great took drink orders, food, that all came out in a timely fashion but after the meal, it was just sooo slow, we probably waited around an 45 min just to get our check the first time. I will 100% not blame the waiter for any slowness after that as my group was not the best for birthday dinner, after we got the check they asked him to split it to individual meals… that is just annoying for the waiter and takes so much time, don’t go to a birthday dinner if you are going to do that
But like I said food wasn’t that great, might be a good if you are in the area to watch a game since they have a lot of TVs but I wouldn’t go back.

I went with a group of friends here and I had a great time. The inside was very spacious and can accommodate a large group. The food was great! I ordered stuffed bacon wrapped chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and Brussels sprouts with bacon. By far the best brussel sprouts I ever had! I would certainly go back!

Walked past this place a million times and finally decided to give it a try during happy hour. Glad I did. While it’s a little on the loud side, that’s pretty standard for the bars in the River North area.
The happy hour specials are pretty legit. Half off bottles of wine, nice discounts on a good variety of food, really can’t complain. Their flat bread pizzas are pretty solid. The wine options are great (I recommend the malbec). I’ll be back.

While they have a great selection of beers (over 30 on tap) and is a great spot to catch sports games it has more of a TGIFriday’s atmosphere. The staff is alright, but I wouldn’t necessarily say they are completely knowledgeable.
Blackfinn does have decent food though! They have your traditional pub fare mixed in with more elevated dishes as well. Some things to try: tuna poke, buffalo chicken flatbread, mac and cheese with pulled pork, and the Blackfinn hot chocolate.

I came here on Thursday night. The place was pretty full, probably because of the game. Mostly men, again likely because of the game being on. This is the perfect place to watch the game. They have tons of TVs. Note that it is extremely loud. Not the guys cheering the game on, that is expected. I mean the volume of the TVs is very very very loud. It was hard to hear the person sitting next to me as we ate and tried to discuss what we would be ordering. I am not sure how the people working here don’t leave each night with ringing ears.
Beyond that, they have an awesome Thurday night special for $ 11 you get a burger and a beer. Can’t loose with that. I took advantage of this, and also got some wings. The wings were not good at all. I don’t suggest them. However, the burger was delish and their fries are good. A little over seasoned, but the seasoning tastes good, so I won’t complain.
The server we had was nice-​ish. You could tell she was somewhere else. I tried to keep things short with her because you could tell she was upset. She didn’t do anything in particular that was rude. Just kind of feel bad she had to work when something was clearly bothering her. Overall, it was an okay experience. I think I’d come back and give them another try. I wont be in a hurry or anything, but it wasn’t bad… sooo… yeah.

Another Round Please! Average sports bar.
Highlights: Decent drinks, Fast service, Average bar pricing, No line, No cover, Enough seating area, Big bar space.
Can improve: Better music?
Benchmark: Just a normal sports bar with average drinks.
Bought my last round in Aug 2015 and might return if I stumble down the area.

Gord and I had supper tonight at Blackfinn Ameripub.
Gord ordered the Pub Burger with mac ‘n cheese. He said it was excellent.
I’m a big fan of chicken parm and that’s what I ordered. The pasta was good but the chicken tasted funny. I gave Gord a piece and he agreed. I let Brittany, our server, know and she let me order something else. I got an order of chicken wings with BBQ sauce. They were really good.
At 9:30pm, they started playing videos (J-​Lo, Beyone, New Edition, etc.). At 9:45pm, they turned the volume up really really high. When we asked Brittany about it, she said it was industry night and they have a DJ who caters to the industry night attendees. Too bad they don’t catering to all customers … and we left.

I was here like 4 times to watch the blackhawks play the ducks and foutor game 6 where they beat Tampa bay. Luckily for me my friends and I chose this place as management and staff go all outto make sure that their customers have a good experience every time they go in.
I found the wait staff very attentive.

I love the food. I think they changed the menu a little from the time they first opened a year ago.
My favorite dish right now is the baked haddock as its also covered by 2 pieces of cheese melted. This tastes so awesome. Although I’m not sure if it’s fried and then baked. Either way this is now my new addiction. The golden fries are the best fries ever. I mean if you have to sin, why not sin in style. Go ahead order those fries when you first get here

I also brought a group of 75 people last week all of whom enjoyed themselves… I know that because I keep getting emails from them saying they liked it.
On Fridays and Saturdays they have a dj pumping out the hits… make some room and dance. No one will stop you :)

I had stopped in this restaurant for a late lunch before heading to work. As a hotel concierge, I enjoy trying new places so I can recommend a restaurant with confidence. I have recommended this restaurant many times without trying it. I’m hoping my visit was just s bad moment for the server.
I was promptly seated by the friendly hostess. The restaurant was not busy since my visit was after the lunch rush was over. It was a few minutes before Jessica stopped by and took my drink order. It seemed that she was ready to get here shift over. I had asked for couple more minutes to review the menu. The menu is extensive, however, everything looked so good.
It was about 7 to 10 minutes later, the server took my order — the Lemon Chicken lunch special. That was pretty much the last time I saw here. About 10 minutes later, my entrée to brought to me. I will say the food was fantastic. No refill on my soda or how’s my meal…
The interior is very nice — cross between sports bar and a very relaxing dining room. The dining room is very clean. Not loud.
I do recommend this restaurant for the food and atmosphere. I will return for a great meal.

I’d best describe this place as «meh.» It was a one and done type of place.
The good: pulled pork nachos were very tasty, great variety of food and drink choices. loads of tvs to watch the game, entrées were not too bad, fries were excellent, rootbeer beer was soooo tasty
The bad: waitress had to be reminded several times to get things (including water), sticky menus, at one point the bus boys were messing around with each other and a lime slice was thrown at a person in our party, even though we were 50 feet from the outside the door was open and we kept smelling strong cigarette smoke, dust and debris kept flying down from the ceiling fans on or near our food, bathrooms were not clean
Overall I wouldn’t go back unless other places were full and I really wanted to catch the game.
