Good price for an evening with an entertaining crowd of 10 with 9 bottles of BYOB wine. Emphasis on drinking, socializing, and dining with a side order of teaching cooking. Only a moderate amount of teaching with the chef using several pre-prepared sauces and seasonings and not explaining a lot about methods, alternatives, or potential pitfalls. A great venue for a special outing, which could be customized for your group. Nothing like watching your dinner braise for 90 minutes 4 feet from you, while sipping your cabernet sauvignon.

Terrible customer service! I’m trying to bring a large group of people in and my phone calls and emails have gone un-returned. Unless you live close to the location and can physically track someone down… good luck!

A knife skills class that’s BYOB? Sign me up! This was my first cooking class and I have to say I really enjoyed it. All I really wanted to learn was the correct way to cut an onion. I learned that and much more – the different brands and types of knives, different types of cuts, how to correctly sharpen a knife(gotta get me a wet stone!). Overall I feel more confident in the kitchen and I expect my prep time for meals to decrease. The teacher is the chef from Café 103 next door. Although he is young, he really knew his stuff without being cocky and was patient with questions. Maybe I’m getting old but I think taking a cooking class is a great to spend an evening(especially when you get to drink wine during it). I recommend this for a night out with the girls, a bachelorette party, or date night for couples. This 2-hour class cost $ 50, had a total of 6 students, and includes a knife(you take home the one you use or you can pay more to upgrade). Pretty reasonable. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Don’t quote me on this but I’m pretty sure the vegetables we cut up were thrown away(gasp!). Not cool in my book.

You want some orange Mario Batali cups, a scone pan and some crazy good fancy mustard? This is your spot. You want someone to teach you how to use all that stuff correctly, hone your knife skills and learn about the intricacies of pie in a drool-worthy kitchen straight out of the Food Network? This is still your spot. You want to not do shit, but have somebody make you some fancified food instead? This is kind of your spot, but you actually need to go next door, because these are the same folks behind Café 103. Serious stuff y’all. A cook and foodie delight. Schedule a class in advance and bring a fat wallet.
