Barrel Maker Printing is a full service custom marketing company based in Chicago, IL. We help with branding throughout the use of apparel and promotional products. We print thousands of shirts each day, using the most state of the art presses, both for local companies and businesses across the country. We can Screen Print shirts for you as well as do embroidery and supply you with over 350,000 promotional products that you can customize for your business.

We do small creative jobs as well as large corporate orders, all at commercial pricing. We offer printing with various ink types from standard Plastisol (Thinned down for optimum comfort) to Water Based, Discharge, and even Soy Inks!

History

Established in 2008.

We started off making fun designs and getting them printed on shirts. We sold some. We decided to buy a printing press and make them ourselves. Then thought maybe we should make bagels instead. We ate lots of bagels. Then we had a company ask us to make them shirts. We made other companies shirts. We bought more and more equipment. Now we print thousands of shirts each month for companies across the nation. We care about our clients. We like hot dogs. We want our customers to succeed. I created Barrel Maker as an easy to use tool for companies to use when they need promotional items. We specialize in fashion soft garments and utilize in house screen printing to help your bottom line. We are also well versed in products sourcing. We have sourced items in excess of 150,000 pieces an order and printed them in house with our state of the art presses. My wife and I not only run the company, but we also teach other professional printers how to better their practices on a monthly basis, teaching seminars in our shop each month. We are always excited about new styles and focus on staying current, while being aware of your bottom line.

I was very excited to write a 5 star review for this place, but an event had occurred that really disappointed me.
My first order with this company was very smooth. Zach was super helpful, gave me a great deal, and worked with all of my requests.
Due to more demand, I decided to get a second order with them. While distributing the sweaters at school, my friend and I realized that we were missing a couple of sweaters. I called the place to see what can be done. Erin picked up the phone and I told her that we were missing some sweaters and was wondering what we can do to fix the situation since I was gonna fly out to Cali. She tells me that they have to look around the office and asses the situation. Also, they can only provide me with a refund. I told her that’s fine, just give me a call back, but I might not answer since I was going to head to the airport right after I was done with school. She also asked me to recount the sweaters. My friend who was right next to me recounted it and double checked that we were missing 2.
Erin calls me back and leaves me 2 voicemail. I listen to the first voicemail and she just tells me that they’ll provide me with a refund. The second voicemail is Erin «reinacting» me… Since she didn’t realize that the voicemail was still recording. In her recording, in her squeaky voice, she was saying «so the thing is… She’s like crying… Im here with my friend and she’s recounting it and it’s not there. That’s like pretty dead on how she sounded like». (I’ll try posting the voicemail) When I heard that, I was like WOAHHH. Ms. Overdramatic here! Let me just clarify. I was NOT crying. I’m a grown girl in pharmacy school trying to handle business before going home. There was NO reason to cry when they’re offering a solution (refund). It’s just sad that they would behave this way… It’s a big hot mess of unprofessionalism
I’m sadden by this event. Really wish both orders were a positive experience … Won’t be back :(

I have ordered sooooo many times from these guys since my first review, it’s time to write an update. Sorry, for the 4 star I don’t know what the hell I was doing. You totally deserve 10 stars!
These guys rock!!! Their website is super easy to order from, their turnaround time is great, they are extremely helpful and I am always super pleased with the quality of work they provide. If you are looking for a fantastic screen printer — look no further: Barrel Maker is the absolute best!

Barrel Maker Printing did an exceptional job on the TShirts I ordered for East Bank Club’s first heart walk. The customer service was friendly and efficient. The shirts were of amazing quality, soft and fit great. Our order was delivered earlier than expected even though extra shirts were ordered at the last minute. This place was awesome to work with. They made t-​shirts for our school trip to Panama. It was a small order (about 20) and I was treated like an important client. They did a number of mock-​ups for me to see different fonts on the design I wanted. I loved the advice on upgrading to the softer t-​shirt material. We were super happy with the design. If I had to do it again I would order a few extra since I didn’t realize that the fine print about margin of error might mean that a student wouldn’t get a t-​shirt. If you need a specific amount of sizes per kid order one extra of each just in case. I will DEFINITELY be using them again and recommending them to others. A pleasure to work with.

I just did my first print job and everything turned out great. First time I’ve printed anything. Rachel worked with me to set up an order. I then went in to see the print run and Aaron was really helpful, explained the process, and he and fellow printer Cole helped me decide on the nuances of whether to use an underbase ink or not. We must say, this printing company is top notch in our book! The real McCoy in our mind. We’ve had both apparel and event posters printed through the company and they knocked it out of the park farther than the Bambino could ever fathom.
We will go back? You’re darn tootin’ we will. The shirt and print quality was stupendous, excellent customer service, and incredible turn around are all reasons why we’d use Barrel Maker again.

I recently needed some tote bags with a logo for a not-​for-​profit. Low cost was as important a factor as quality. Barrel Maker Printing really came through for me! They were able to advise me, leading me to the perfect bag. The multi-​color logo looked terrific on the bags we selected. I also added a tee shirt to the order at the last minute. Looking for screen printing in Chicago? Look no further! Barrel Maker Printing is the shop for you. I met with Erin and Justin yesterday and truly had a great experience with them. Both are really down to earth and easy to work with. It was great to see their office and busy factory filled with screen printing machines. The office had multiple shirts hung up of previous work they had done which showed me just how versatile they are. They really helped me out and I am sure they can help you too!
A cool side note, they offer screen printing classes there. As I was leaving they were setting up for one they were going to have today. It’s something I will definitely look into. With their casual and fun environment I’m sure a class would be awesome to take there.
Whether it’s 3,000 tees for your business or a fun venture learning to screen print on your own, they offer it all.

Just keeps getting better! These guys constantly keep up with the industry by adding new equipment and technology, and seem to really care about screen printing. Super easy to work with and determined to get you the best product possible.
I’ve been working with screen printers all over Chicago for the last 15 years, and no one has even come close to the quality you’ll get from Barrel Maker. Their equipment is top of the line, unlike most other shops still using printing presses from the early 90’s. The screen printing is about as good as it gets!

Justin really helped me pull through a last-​minute order when I really needed it. We had been turned down by at least 6 other companies because they couldn’t do a rush order or couldn’t produce exactly what we wanted for our design. We had a strict deadline and within 24 hours, we had a quote, our designs approved, signed the invoice, and paid for the merchandise! The shirts turned out amazing too. We are planning to submit another order soon because they did such a wonderful job.

Justin & Erin are a cool breeze on a hot day. Super refreshing to meet business owners who listen & put the customers first! Justin was patient as only a parent of a toddler can be when I had a million questions about my order, and he answered them all quickly and with a smile. They sourced my company’s tote bags for cheaper than we were able to find anywhere else online, were really helpful when I went in to proof the first bags and BONUS: They took time out of their busy day to give me a tour of their studio and let me print my own shirt. Dang.

The Best.
I was in a panic trying to get a large amount of shirts finished for a big show. I called Erin and it was like a long-​lost friend on the other end of the line. Friendly, easy, awesome. Erin walked me through everything, got the shirts I needed ASAP, got me an excellent price and was able to do an incredible 72 hour turn around on. She even dropped them off to me. Honest, hard-​working, kick ass. I cannot say enough good things about them. You won’t find service like this anywhere else.
Seriously. They are the best. So pleased with my order, and how everything was done. When Erin said she would take care of everything and not to worry — she was right. She got the job done better and faster than I imagined.
