Excellent vegetarian fare. Excellent pricing. This is a place that is very very reasonably priced. It is a little slow at lunch time but if you’re in a hurry you can get a salad or something that is fast to make. Coffee is good in the mornings, and not overpriced. Staff are friendly.

not bad considering the other lunch options around get boring fast(potbellys, beggers, subway etc) i ordered a california turkey wrap. definitely nowhere near the best i’ve had, but it’ll do for a cheap and quick lunch. the menu said avocado but they used some sort of guac spread which wasn’t the best, but whatever. decent!

This is probably my favorite quick lunch spot near Union Station. Full disclosure: I work in the building, so it is incredibly convenient. Everything I have had there has been quite tasty, and I have eaten just about everything on the menu. They are a great spot for both lunch and breakfast. I see a lot of reviews mentioning the fact that they microwave the food. I get that it’s sort of odd, but do you people never microwave food at home? It has been around for 40 years. Anyway, they just do it to sandwiches that need cheese melted on top. The bread actually gets toasted. For the price I don’t think this place can really be beat. It isn’t super fast so if you need your sandwich Jimmy Johns-fast you might have to go somewhere else, but otherwise it is great. They have outdoor seating too.

Customer service is seriously needed. Today, they took my tuna salad order first. I went to the end of the line and paid. I noticed the girl made 4 other sandwiches before mine for customers who arrived after me. I thought my bread was in the toaster! Silly me. Then the older lady at the cashier position reminded the young lady about my order. No one ever looked me in the eye and acknowledged me or even offered an apology. I noticed there was a lot of microwave use and the employees were very friendly to the regulars. I happen to work 2 blocks away and live in the area. New customers could be a good thing for a place that is «neither bakery, garden nor café» and the food is mediocre at best! Will not go back even though I pass them on my way home EVERYDAY. I will continue to walk out of my way to Chipotle, Potbelly’s and Epic Burger. Better customer service and no microwave in sight.

Bakery Garden is a nice break from the typical chains and fast food places around here. The good is great and the prices are reasonable. They are very friendly too. I have gone in there for breakfast and lunch. They’re breakfast is great and they have some prepackaged items that are great too. Their food is fresh though, so if you go late in the day, like 2, 2:30, they may be out of a lot of stuff. Just try again the next day!

I love Bakery Garden. It is located on the first floor of an office building, so it is easy to miss. Everything is fresh and they offer daily lunch specials. I love their personal pizzas — at $ 2.99, you can’t beat them. The pizzas are freshly prepared and toasted as you wait. The selection of sandwiches and salads is also quite vast and I always have trouble deciding what I want to eat! Prices are reasonable, although the portion sizes are smaller than at chain restauarnts(better for the waistline, I guess). They quickly run out of ingredients, but to me, that speaks of their freshness. The décor is very pleasant — it almost has a lofty feel to it. The owners are great!

It’s neither a bakery nor a garden nor a café. Discuss… I’m just wondering how this sandwich I had could be taken seriously. They toasted the bread similar to how it’s done at Potbelly’s, but they microwaved my turkey and cheese. Yes, they microwaved it. I mean, come on, what is that? If they want to be like Potbelly’s for a sandwich, at least run the ingredients through the machine with the bread. Why go here when I can go to Potbelly’s only a block away? And that iced tea, what were they thinking, seriously? Come on, get rid of the flavor dispenser mechanism and make some real tea. How many more corners can they possibly cut?

Overall a good lunch spot– I went here for the first time today thanks to the advice of fellow Unilocalers. General opinion: –Better than chain sandwich shops(potbelly, subway, etc) –Decent price, but not amazing –not a ton of variety(my fave sandwich shop in the city was the market down in Hyde Park, with prosciutto, basil, roasted red peppers, etc) –soups are apparently infamously good– they ran out of 2 of them before I arrived at 12:30 –longer wait than a generic place. Overall good if you’re in the area, but don’t make a special point to make it there.

Nice little lunch place if you work west of the loop. 2 – 3 soups daily, fresh and all delicious. Alright sandwiches: either off the menu or create-your-own. Fresh bread and veggies. Not the most delectable sandwiches ever but good enough for a quick lunch for a picky eater. Refrigerator case filled with yummy-looking bakery goods – RIGHT by the register. Oh the torture. Fountain pop! Fine-ish prices for a sandwich spot near the loop. Outdoor seating. Open for breakfast as well.

I love Bakery Garden! This little café is in my building and its a great place to have around. The sandwiches are great! I prefer the egg salad which they prepare fresh everyday. They also make some great soups. Favorites are the Seafood Bisque, Creamy Tomato Bisque, Portabella Mushroom with Grains. The people that work there are very friendly! If you work in the area of Bakery Garden you should try it and give a small business owner some business. His sandwiches are just as good as Corner Bakery or Panera!

This is one of my lunch standbys. They use fresh, quality products and take the time to make it right. The sandwich board is fairly broad and includes some veggie options, like the humus wrap. Daily soups go through a nice rotation and the special board always has something interesting. One odd thing: I was in a rush one day, late for yet another fruitless meeting(oh yea, they have great fruit cups, too. Mmmmm, fruit cup!) and I asked that they me a sandwich(tuna, I think) one wheat bread, «don’t bother toasting it, in in a rush». I guess there is a certain school of the deli arts that say the bread(and wraps, I’ve noticed) must always pass through the robo-toaster. Luckily, I’m a regular and the sandwich master allowed me to eat my bread raw, just that once. He said it is always much better with toasted bread, and I can’t disagree. In short, good, fresh sandwiches, wonderful baked good(when I dare), clean, OK price and very nice staff.

It’s easy to miss this little spot because it’s in such a gringy, industrial area on the outskirts of the loop. Now, the food. Bagels are ok but my favorite has to be the blueberry muffins which are moist and good. A variety of bagel sandwiches are offered and thirst quenchers include an adequate choice of bottled juices and waters. Staff is quite friendly, give this place a try, nice diversion over Dunkin Donuts. Coffe is Seattle’s Best.
