Stay away at lunch. This place is small and it’s hard to find a place to sit at lunch. They have huge slices of pizza, but the pizza is pretty bland, which kinda kills it. By the time you order a slice and soft drink, you’re paying $ 10 for lunch, so it’s not exactly a bargain anyway. The pasta is also bland, with very uninspired sauces. With the exception of the guy who clears the tables, the staff are indifferent about whether you are there or not or are enjoying your meal or not. They just want to sell you a slice and move onto the next person. This is far from what you’d expect from a family-owned Italian restaurant/pizza shop in Chicago. There are much better places around. Pick one instead.

Honestly if the pizza they made was like their pizza by the slice I would be much happier. But the pizza I got today was not the same as yesterday. It was bland no flavor and jus plain oily. Do yourself a a favor Unilocalers. If you go here get the pizza by the slice not the pan pizza for u and ur whole family. Get individual slices the difference is night and day!

I finally got around to stopping into Baccis pizza. I know they are known for their huge slices, and I have seen pics, but they are even bigger than i thought. WOW. Just like most places in the loop it does get really busy and it is small. Its pretty fast paced though. I know it was a lunch rush but my pizza was totally under cooked. It had decent flavor and I would probably go back to try it again or try something else. Fast Italian, it is what it is.

The food would be better if it was served hot. The person working the pizza station clearly was not able to stay on top of the orders called out by the cashier. This was followed by an oven worker who could not keep track of what order he put the pizza into the oven. The oven was also constantly open. After having to ask each person waiting what their order was, our slices were loaded into the oven haphazardly. My slice, ordered to-go, was placed in the oven a couple minutes after a slice for a person who was dining in(with the same toppings). Somehow, my slice was ready before the person who was dining in. I think he was more shocked than I was. I should have spoken up or stopped and checked temp before leaving, but they should have been able to get it right without my input. The employees seemed frazzled. Alarming since there were only 5 – 8 people waiting for orders. Suggestions to Bacci: –Move to a ticketing system if the employees cannot keep up with orders call out by the cashiers –Get your layout organized –A line for pizza by the slice and a line for everything else. –A trip to Venice Café or Sopraffina’s may prove useful to Bacci management so they can figure out order/line management and give their employees a chance to be able to keep up with the orders while still moving the line efficiently. Even Portillo’s follows a similar model of different order points for their locations with Barnelli’s. –Crank up the oven temp during the periods you know the oven will be open often, or do something to ensure the internal oven temp is where you expect it(manage oven door opening and closing?) The place has potential, but they need to get their operations in order.

This is solid pizza available quickly, which is somehow missing from much of the loop. I’m glad they opened up! I pop in about once a week for a slice when I want a giant slice of pizza to stuff in my face. This is what Bacci is for and they do it well.

Wow these slices are huge. Reasonably priced but the pizza is boring. Dough is too thick, not enough sauce(it’s boring anyway) and pepperoni is just ok. Giant portions trying to make up for boring pizza. This is Chicago. Come on guys…

Don’t come here if you’re expecting great pizza. A couple of coworkers and I had a craving for pizza and ordered a jumbo slice each. They were HUGGGEEEEE! Had no issues with service as everyone was very friendly. Overall, I had no qualms about my experience. I just wish I inhaled my pizza a little slower.

I order the penne pasta with meat sauce. The price was right but the food was not. The meat sauce was thin and very watery. The pasta tastes like wet glue. Not particularly what I wanted. I didn’t try the piazza but from the looks of things, that’s what this place does better. The slices are huge.

Passed few times with placard outside but not open. Now open! I picked up a jumbo slice. I asked for sausage, but apparently sausage big slices include pepperoni so I had to pull all that off. Slice was decent, good chewy crust. As I am approaching cashier(where u also place ur order), young man prepping orders(who looks like a younger Dave Chappelle(damn I miss him, I digress) asks me if I’m getting a slice, ahead of the cashier asking me. I see why, they have pizza prepared and will put ur slice in the oven for a minute. Mine could’ve used more time as it was warm not hot. Obviously you can custom. order your pizza but I don’t have that kinda time for lunch. I’ll stop back to try sandwiches but likely not another slice. They have wings, pasta, salads, Italian sandwiches, panzerotti, pan thin and stuffed pizza. My one visit summation is… good, but I wouldn’t wait in a long line for it
