Awesome customer service. Bianca who seemed to be the manager did an amazing job and was so helpful not only with us but with all the other guests considering how busy they were.

Bad personal, I hate when I’m going to pay and the cashiers are talking and laughing each other and they don’t even pay attention to the costumer and then I say thank you and they don’t answer back because they are to busy gossiping.

I have been to this location many times! I have shopped a lot there and given them a lot of my money! The reason I’m giving it 1 star is because I think she’s a manager was extremely rude and they should teach the staff then what to say on the phone! I had called to ask about a product being sold there the lady I had talked to said they didn’t have it and she checked other stores for me. So melrose had my product I went there they no longer had the Christmas promo bottle and was told to bring my receipt to the other location. Did that and my total was 71 $ because I had banked my rewards up to 60 $ I was not qualified for the promo fine! But when your staff says something you should be honoring it! But w. e I bought the bottle any way… But wish I haven’t because the way she walked off and made a noise under her breath! Not appropriate at all! And yes I called customer service… If u don’t like your job then don’t work there!

I had a great time ordering online the item for my baby but unfortunately horrible experience when I got to the store to pick it up. It’s not the first time it happened. First time I was picking up another thing I thought maybe the employee is new that’s why she has no idea where to look for the item I ordered. I had to wait 15 min for her to get someone to tell her how to get the item and where it was. Second time I had to wait over 30 min and it’s not that easy while pregnant !! First they couldn’t look up the order even after I gave them the order # then the guy that went to the back to get the item kept coming back with the wrong item. I thought store pick up was supposed to be easy and fast but i have to say I was never more wrong. I have a baby registry with babies r us that I’m think of canceling because I just don’t want my guests to experience the same issues I did!!! I’m not sure if other stores are the same but this locations in the horrible. Employees have no idea what they are doing there. Manager named Matt wasn’t helpful either. But after looking at the employees and at him I don’t feel surprised at all. I will not be going back to this location ever! I don’t recommend you go there as well !!

Dont know why they are rated so low. I initially registered w Tagret, but Target discontinued too many things too frequently and their process of signing in and viewing and editing your registry was too unorganized. Registered w Babies R Us online, and LOVED their registry process!!! I also frequent and also favor this particular store. It’s always stocked, there are always friendly employees, and their aisles are very organized. The hubby was working one day when I was still pregnant and I was nesting, and I went to buy a Britax stroller and car seat combo. The box was SUPER HEAVY and HUGE. I had no prob getting help w my item. Happy w this particular store!!!

When I had my baby shower, I registered at BRU. The fact that they specialize in whatever you need for your baby, makes it so convenient. But convenience comes with a cost, even though you could probably get it cheaper at Target or Walmart, there’s no guarantee they will have the product your looking for though.

We just has the worst shopping experience ever. The staff is rude and incompetent. After 15 minutes at the register watching 3 different people unsuccessfully scan our coupons, my wife nearly had a meltdown. I had to get her out of their our she would’ve slapped someone. And I wouldn’t have blamed her.
During this waste of time experience, we were trying to purchase an extremely expensive item and at the check out line, one of the managers who was trying to help the other idiots scan coupons told us that the expensive item we were trying to buy will likely break so we should buy the expensive warranty package. Specifically, he told us that 7 out of 10 of these items break within 30 days. What kind of crap are you selling? And what kind of morons are you employing?

I ended up registering here for my baby shower. I didn’t think their prices were so bad. Yeah, you can shop around… but I wanted my friends and family to see everything I wanted in one easy place. (Which translates to less duplicate gifts for me). Overall, I ended up with two duplicate items. We exchanged one of them already with ease.
The staff was friendly. When we were looking at strollers, someone walked over to tell us more about models we were looking at. I like that they have the displays, but wish they were all on the floor. I wanted to test out ease of use. So I was rolling them around. Play yards and similar items are all on the floor for you to look at and choose from. They also put all the highlights (the wonderful things you generally have to pull out your phone and look up) on the side of each item.
The girl who set us up for our registry was really friendly. She told us about classes they offer from Mederma. She also answered questions I had when comparing two models. She gave me advise on bottles… none of that was necessary, but I did appreciate her opinion. She had recently had a baby.
My husband and I went into the store to exchange one of our duplicate items about 5 minutes before they closed not too long ago. There were two employees in the store and they could have very easily locked the store early, or sent us on our merry way. Instead, they walked us through the store and showed us where items we were looking for were located. And they were friendly.
(I did forget to do the phone survey…).

What is going on here? I have yet to go to this store because they never have what I am looking for every time I call. We are then forced to rent a car to go to the other branches.
Dealing with them on the phone is a tedious task within itself. This last time, I had to call three times because nobody ever picks up in the Babies’r’us department. Then, when you call the Toys’r’us branch, the first person you talk to puts you on hold for 15 minutes, then a second person picks up and asks what you are waiting for which means you have to pose your question all over again, and then you are put on hold again. Then the connection drops and you have to call back again and talk to a third person, who asks you the same question and puts you on hold again. This is the textbook definition of «waste of my time» and bad customer service. What are all these «sales associates» doing there if no one can get me the info I need? It seems they all disappear in some vortex hole and never return.
Why have this branch in the first place if your inventory as well as your staff is mediocre?

This store is terrible. My husband and I went on a Saturday morning to buy something off a registry. First of all, the whole store just looks shady and cheap and disorganized. After looking where we thought the item, should be (a set of onesies) and not finding it we asked someone. After hunting around for a salesperson for quite some time, we found an associate who didn’t seem to understand what we were asking for because she couldn’t speak English very well. Instead of pointed us to where the item was/​helping us find it she told us that «it should be over there somewhere» and pointed to the general area of about 5 racks.
At this point, I had to use the bathroom while my husband continued to look. While walking to the bathroom, I passed a pile of poop (yes, human feces) smeared on the floor. An employee walked by, looked and it and kept going (I assumed to get cleaning supplies or at least alert a manager and put a cone over it or something). I went to the bathroom, had to wait for a huge family to use the bathroom (where none of the kids washed their hands or were told to and then proceeded to go out and play with toys. Ew). I was probably in there a total of close to 10 minutes. Plenty of time to get something like a pile of feces cleaned up or at least get a cone or warning tape around it, right? Nope, clearly not a priority for this store. Apparently their policy is to just leave poop in the middle of the floor. So incredibly disgusting.
When I got back to my husband, who still hadn’t found the item and couldn’t get any more help, I told him about the poop and we just got out of there and went to Target instead. Much better experience:)
Add to this that I’m 5 months pregnant and we’re about to register. This experience, combined with other things I’ve heard, is making us strongly reconsider registering at Babies R Us. If we can’t even find one item, or get help with it, how will registering be?!! Plus, do I really want to have my friends/​family go to an establishment that leaves feces on the floor!!!

I really, really regret registering at Babies R Us. I thought that since they had more of the stuff I wanted (cloth diapers, better strollers, nicer pumps…) I sort of had to. Let me just say, it was still a mistake.
First, their PRICING is atrocious. Easily 20% higher than elsewhere. Why are we asking our friends and loved ones to pay more?
Second, their REGISTRY is all screwed up. I had two showers and between the two received more than 10 duplicate gifts. Embarrassing to me and a PITA to have to return stuff. I know that sometimes gift-​givers forget to have stuff noted on the registry, but this is just too often to be a human error on my friends’ part.
Third, their SELECTION is almost always out of stock or online only. Stuff disappears from their shelves so fast it’s almost not worth registering!
Don’t do it. Don’t be tempted! Just register elsewhere, you’ll be glad you did.

NObody was available on a Sunday afternoon to assist us on the floor with cribs. I (8 months pregnant) waddled to the front of the store to ask them to page someone. She did. Nobody showed up.
I finally saw someone in another dept. and asked if he could help in furniture. Nice enough guy but he should have said «no» to me when I asked if he could help. He knew nothing but tried to act like he did. His only solid advice was «so you know you have to buy the mattress too, it doesn’t come with the crib». Um — yes, thank you, I did know that.
VERY disappointed!

So, yes, the exterior is very shady, BUT this review is based solely upon their customer service!
I have not set foot inside a BR Us in over three years, and considering I have spent about a millionth of a second around small children in that time… this place can be very overwhelming.
Thank goodness my friend created a nice registry to help guide me through the maze of Baby 101.
I started at the desk, where I asked to have a registry printed off under my friend’s name. I guess the glazed look on my face startled the woman after perusing the goods, so she brought me over to a particular section, where I was introduced to baby car mirror’s…she has children of her own, so she also made some other suggestions based upon the registry.
Fast forward, and now I was on to find baby teether’s (there are so many!). Another team member assisted with this and then handed me over to the Assistant Manager. The AM was very nice and was unable to find what I needed. He said he would be back, but I later saw he had to jump on the register, so I let that one slide.
I think what prompted me to actually write this review, was the fact that when the lines began to grow, a cashier opened a new line and instead of letting the people in the line that had been waiting, she took the people who had just arrived, which prompted the Manager (whom was my cashier), to correct her in a professional manner, and asked her to say «Next Guest, Please» (or something along those lines). Regardless, it was like a breath of fresh air, that the Manager worked with her employee’s like that, and it restored my faith in humanity, and customer service!

AAAAhhhh! baby warehouse! Overwhelming.
We never found the section for cloth diapers so I don’t even know if they sell them. They weren’t in the zone labeled «Diapers». Odd.
They do have a whole jungle of baby furniture, clothing, baby needs– you name it, they’ve got it, except apparently if it is cloth diapers.
This place is a warehouse for sure. I just don’t feel good inside. :-/

First off, their return policy could really be better. I received items from here that were neither on my registry nor accompanied by a gift receipt. Even though these items had actual Babiesrus price tags on them — they refused to give me a merchandise credit or anything. Secondly, this location is sooooo inconvenient for anyone who lives in the city. I’d rather drive out to the Babiesrus on Touhy in Skokie since it’s near the expressway and has other stores I would go to around it.

I try to avoid this place when at all possible. And driving out here westward on Fullerton is a pain in the ass no matter what time you go. So the last thing I want to do is have to return something here, which I have done several times. The store itself is kinda depressing too. And it just feels dirty. We have gotten some essential things here like a stroller and diapers, and a high chair online. Everything else we usually try to order online or get from somewhere else.
However it is the only Babies R Us around, and sometimes you have no choice.

The store is ok, the neighborhood is not. Be careful when going here.
