B True Bakery

My workplace got breakfast catered by B True Bakery for Wellness Week. I can’t believe how good all their scones and croissants were! I tried the cheese scone and the multi-​grain croissant. Every week I buy my dog treats from them at the Glenwood Sunday market, but have never tried any of their baked goods. They are healthy and taste amazing.

I work in Andersonville, and every year when we have the farmers market, I rush over for Brady’s smiling face and delectable treats. I have yet to buy a single treat from him that hasn’t sent me through the roof in flavor-​bliss. He has enough delectable variety for me to want to go back to the farmers market every week. He’s a staple in our local market and is so humble about the fact that he makes scrumptious, soft, moist treats out of only whole grains. I’ll let that sink in with you for a moment. I’m pretty sure he uses magic. Don’t believe me? Go get a sample off of his farmer’s market table sometime.

Don’t let «whole grain baked goods «fool you. If you have not had their brownie or cookies yet, you are missing out on a Chicago treasure!

I can’t say enough about how wonderful B True Bakery’s goodies are. Utterly scrumptious, all natural, and all delicious (yep, it really is possible to made sweet things taste fabulous with wholesome ingredients). And Brady, the owner, is an absolute gem who knows his stuff inside and out and obviously cares about what goes into his food and how it’s presented. Highly recommended.

I second Sue S.‘s recommendation of the Triple Chocolate Espresso Whole Wheat Brownies. I picked up a couple of them at the market in Lakeview and took them over to a friend’s house. I swear she nearly swooned. Absolute heaven.

I’ve tried the BEST sugar cookie of my life (from Saugatuck Café on Halsted, in Lakeview). split it with a friend and we can’t get enough! The texture was so light and delicate, it melted in your mouth the way a cookie should. yum. I’m not exaggerating– its pure bliss.
To my delight, I went to Christkindle market in Lincoln Sqaure over the weekend and met the owner of this bakery. You can tell when people put their heart and soul into a product. he’s got it!
I’m usually not a big fan of sweets but this is amazing, high quality stuff. Eating a Coconut Roche right now as I type. You get three coconut balls, one dipped in dark chocolate. Perfect balance of sweet and a bit of salty. And I’m not sharing this with anyone! Also picked up a Dark Chocolate Walnut Whole Wheat Cookie, just as great. if not better! Literally. these products are melt in your mouth worthy, so damn good.
Who knew I could have so much fun with healthy, all natural, preservative-​free products? Makes me wonder. what was I really eating before? eww.

All I heard after my wedding was — that was the best wedding cake ever. My husband and I took a non-​traditional approach to a wedding cake and went with a spice cake with cream cheese frosting. We don’t like overly sweet cakes and neither do any of our guests.
Brady worked with us from the beginning to help us design our cake flavors and design. We completing a formal tasting with him and then worked via email and phone to develop our cake. The cake was beautiful and super tasty. And Brady is a gem to work with.

B True Bakery is owned by one of the fantastic Spin instructors at LVAC. I’ve been taking his class for over a year and I’ve heard about his endeavor into delicious, healthy food for awhile but haven’t managed to get my hands on anything. That is, until I ran into him at the Nettelhorst market this past weekend. And what a delicious encounter it turned out to be.
I started small with a few raspberry scones and peanut butter cookies. Holy crap, the peanut butter cookies were amazing. Soft, full of flavor, and my bf had to keep me from going back later that day and buying more of them. The scones were great as well. Unlike any scone I’ve had before. Now when I think of scones I’ll think of B True’s scones. They were moist and soft rather than crunchy and dry like a lot of scones. And let’s not forget that everything is made with a higher health standard in mind. Definitely check it out!
