I always love this store. It has exactly what I need.Rev. Stitch is an excellent man who helped me with his knowledge when I purchased an excellent statue there. It has an incredible selection of candles etc. I can hardly wait to go back!

YASSS. I love it here! The employees are very nice and they have a very wide variety of things to choose from and from a variety of different belief systems. I’ve bought some candles and a deck of Gypsy Witch cards from here and loved all of it. Would definitely recommend!

I am always happy and content going here. There is always something I’m looking for and if for some reason I’m not to sure what it may be as far as salts or candles I ask the staff and they are happy to assist me in whatever question I may have. I go here often for my spiritual needs and am never disappointed.

I come here for incense and sage, but often find myself checking out books, stones, and other goods as well. The vibe in the shop is comfortable and makes you feel welcome to hang out for a bit. Stitch is genuine, funny and up for conversation on any topic you could imagine. People like him make Augustine’s a special place to be.

This place is AWESOME!!! The gentleman behind the counter is really helpful, and is attentatve and caring toward each of the customers. I’m so happy this place is open on Sunday. Drove here from Indiana and was so excited when I walked through the door. Great selection of oils, candles, books, gems, incense, and stones.

This shop is a hidden gem. The employees are knowledgeable and always ready to help. I’m new to the ‘arts’ so it’s nice finding a place with people who are happy to share their knowledge and wisdom. A few other similar stores I’ve visited in Chicago have had employees who seemed to talk down to me just because I didn’t know the properties of certain stones and oils off the top of my head. The employees at augustines are nothing like that. I feel comfortable to ask questions and if I’m looking for something specific they’re always ready to help explore all options that fit my inquiries. They have a ton of potions and oils as well as a nice little book selection. They also hold small workshops and classes and offer cleansings for an extremely cheap price. Their prices are about the same as other similar shops on the city however they constantly have different deals and specials to take advantage of plus they’ll occasionally throw in special little freebies here and there. This shop has become like a second home to me and I am definitely a loyal customer now. Their location is very convenient. You have to pay for street parking but you can usually find a spot almost right in front of the store. This is a special place filled with people who I could chat with for hours. Every visit I end up leaving with beautiful new products and tidbits of new knowledge to aid me in my spiritual journey. Great place to find unique gifts and beautiful one of a kind jewellery. It’s worth checking out.

Great place. I’m glad to have a place like this on the south side. Crystal was extremely helpful and was very positive. They have a ton of incense and some great books. They also offer classes which I plan on taking! I would recommend more unscented votive and pillar candles although they have a good selection of candles already oiled up and blessed. I think the prices are a tad high but still a wonderful spiritual store. I will definitely go again.

So this place is super creepy, but they know their stuff. I came here just to get some incense, but the store has a HUGE selection of candles, lotions, potions (yes, actual potions), books, crystals, incense holders, and all things mystical. The store even grows many of the herbs that are in its potions and lotions. The store has a whole wall full of glass jars filed with various concoctions. The woman working in the store was super creepy, but she was nice enough to tell me and my friend about the store and to help us find what we were looking for. I steered clear of anything voodoo like and bought two boxes of incense and a bunch of sage to burn around the house. Both smell fantastic. I’ll be back for more incense, but I plan on wearing my cross for protection just in case.

I’m torn on this place. While it’s a great location to get very specific items I need, some of the prices are down right laughable. A vial of oil that has always been priced at $ 8.99 will suddenly have another price sticker put on top of the usual one marked as $ 12.99. Yikes. Guess I didn’t want the patchouli that bad. Sometimes the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful when it comes to finding this or that or recommendations. But then there are other times when an older gentleman will keep bothering me by incessantly talking about himself (his collections, his alters, his experiences, his powers). Then there’s a younger gal in there who is sometimes great and other times on her iphone and irritated that you’re interrupting her. I’ll still go in there, but only if absolutely necessary. There’s got to be a better place to acquire spiritual goods in the vicinity.

I’ve seen my fair share of new age stores and this one kind of falls short. They did have quite the collection of oils and incense, but I wasn’t crazy about their candles. The prices seemed a little high. I wanted a couple oils, but they were $ 10 and in small bottles. I did pick up some bergamot incense for $ 4 that I’m super excited about burning when I get home. The man working (I’m assuming based on other reviews that he’s the owner) was ridiculously personable and funny. I greatly enjoyed all of his literary references. I would consider come back here if I lived in the area… if only to chat with the owner :)

I purposely sought out this shop. I love to see different Occult and New Age shops. I saw a lot of candles and Incense and Oils, But I prefer to make all of those myself. They had a very small book selection and I chose the pictorial key to the tarot by waite and bought it for 13 something. I leave and take the price sticker off the back and the publishing company’s price was 9.99 or 10.99… The publishing company sells it to them for less yet they marked it up again? I know Chicago’s full of illiterate assholes, but is it that bad that you have to gouge me?

Really cool store. Get all of your pagan and witchcraft supplies here! :-) Very cool people, and a fun place to just look around

Augustine’s has a good selection of candles and incense. I would say that it’s best if you’d like to stock up on candles and similar supplies. I find it’s my go-​to place if I want a well made, unique candle for my altar.
The space is small and so while the books they do stock tend to be good, there isn’t much room to have a larger book selection. Still, I’ve often been able to find some cool books and often wind up doing an impulse buy that invariably brings me a lot of enjoyment,

If I could give this shop zero stars, it would still only get one and only because Rev. Stitch works there. Him and his wife are genuine people and the owner of this place is lucky to have him. The store is over priced you can get the same candles and better and cheaper down the street and a bigger selection at Authenian Candle Company, they employ kids that don’t know crap. The oils are garbage, and based on mixed cheapo Anna Riva oils that do not work. You have to pay to park on the street, but you can always find a spot.

I came in here looking for a specific saint card and other info on this saint for my kids project at school. I left with a bag of cool stuff for the project and for myself! They have neat candles and oils. I don’t believe in the «potions» spells and things like that, but the candles and oils smell good and they also have Christian items if you’re looking for that and don’t want to drive further out to Wadras.

I was a patron the the old store on halsted and then the owner and his wife retired and moved to michigan and it was under new ownership. The new store is twice as big as the old one and has more products and services to offer. Scotty and the rest of the staff are very helpful and is a pleasant place to visit. I must say if I am feeling sad or out of sorts I just pay them a visit and I am feeling all better when I leave. Thank you Augustines

I love this store and will make the trek down there from the NW side of Chicago when ever I need any insence, candles or stones. The people there are always helpful and will give recommendations on anything you might need. They also offer services outside of the shop, which is nice.
If you have not made you way to this great little shop in Bridgeport you should, it is one of the best occult shops around.

I’m not sure where all of the rivalry started between the original location that was called Augustine’s Spiritual Goods and the new ownership of what is called Augustine’s Eternal Gifts, but the store that exists now is a pretty good store if you’re looking for spiritual/​occult items. I can’t compare it to «the original» because I never went there when it was «the original».
I have been in this store and it does have a huge selection of candles, oils, herbs, charms, amulets and a large library of books of a spiritual nature. I don’t know that much about the stuff so I can’t vouch for the current owner’s knowledge of the genre, but the selection speaks volumes for me. Not being into crystals and candles, I can at least say that they’ve got a good selection of tarot decks and information, as well as a little spot for voodoo dolls and lucky charms.
You can never have too much good luck, in my opinion. And as for the voodoo dolls. .. let’s just call it «wishful thinking»!

The coolest store in Chicago. Love rituals, candles, herbs, charms, amulets, books — spiritual stuff of all kinds.
UPDATED TO ADD: This is not the original store that used to be on Halsted, sadly. It’s got much of the same merchandise, though.
