Augusta Hand Car Wash

Got in on a LivingSocial deal for 5 hand car washes. The place is far from where I live, but thought so what I’ll go on the weekends and I’m driving anyways. Was a great deal.
I like this place, they are very fast and do a good job. Vacuum, wash, clean out the mats, etc. They even put air in my tires once for me, but not every time. I would go here more if it were closer, but West Loop Auto Spa is my choice now.

I have been a customer of Augusta Car Wash for 10 years as a regular customer. It is sad but Augusta Car Wash may be closed. I have called several times over the past week and the number has been disconnected. I was hoping that things might have changed. If true, It is sad to see them close and employees out of work.
I hope you get back to running soon. I have had excellent service in the past ten years.

My poor Corolla was a hot mess!!! I was a bad person and hadn’t given her a wash for almost a month! SMH
These guys did a nice job on my car, there wasn’t a speck of dust or dirt inside after they had their way with it. Mind you, I have two kids who tear the back seat area up! Windows were nice and clear, coconut fragrance, shiny tires and clean interior. Vaccum job was AWESOME.
It took me a good 35 min to get in and outta there, but hey it was a hand car wash. Takes a little longer than putting it through a machine. It was only $ 12 too, I think that is pretty reasonable for the works. I’ll be back when I’m in the area and my baby needs some TLC.

Have tried going to this place at least 15 times in the last 7 months to try to redeem my Living Social deal that I purchased with them. All of these times have been during their stated business hours. All of these times they have been closed. Are they out of business or are they just a shitty business who can’t be bothered to change their business hours and inform their customers by changing the stated hours on their building? Either way, I got my Living Social deal refunded since it was about to expire and will be going to any of the other numerous hand car washes in the area that actually are open during their business hours.

Is this place even open anymore??! I am calling to use my living social deal from last year, but no one answers the phone. I guess this is why I should have used it 11 months ago…

It hurts me to write this review. This WAS a 5 star hand wash… But, my last 4 visits has brought me here for only 3 stars, 1 more then I would give not been also basing it on prior experiences here.
If you know what «YouSwoop» is AND like a clean car, sometime last fall (2010) this car wash did a coupon deal through them. You got 10 complete washes for like $ 40. Seeing as how this was the only wash in the city I would have ever brought my car to, this worked out great for me.
Now… the way this place works is they clean the exterior first, they do an excellent job always. 2 sometimes 3 guys. Just Great!
Then more often then not will your car sit in limbo between exterior and interior cleanings. This is when you pay for your wash.
Well… Ever since I have been paying with my coupon card instead of cash… It seems that when they clean my interior… Its like destine to not receive the attention and detail a cash paying customers and/​or myself should expect.
Even further… how good they used to clean my interior was one of the main reasons I kept coming back AND took advantage of their coupon offer!
But… last weekend was the worst. There was no line, no rush… I get in my car after a wash then pulled into the alley way… and no kidding. they didn’t even wipe down the dashboard. No attention to center console. And didn’t clean my mirror.
And my car is not scummy… I mean… comon… I’m taking time to review a car wash. I’m a once of month wash type of individual.
Now. weather its a coupon card bias or not… There are a lot of hand wash places around, especially within 2 miles of here…
You’d think that even if they took a huge hit and regret a coupon deal they signed up for… You’d still want to do a great job. So customers, unlike me who was already using it, would continue to come back even after their coupon card was done.
I know other reviews said the interior cleaning was often mediocre, but I never noticed until lately.
You could look at this review one of 2 ways.
1. Chances are you didn’t get the coupon deal, and from what I just said… Cash paying customers get a great wash. Which from my knowledge that is true. The main guy always remembers a face and is always very good at making you feel welcome. The washes used to be incredible.
But. the other way is…
They already got paid months ago… and at least the outside looks nice.
I was almost 2 years loyal. and never had a complaint. Id like to think the more often you frequent a local business, the less likely you are to get screwed.
Ill use my card up and move on. I can get screwed anywhere, and just start washing my own car again.

It’s hard to believe you can get a better $ 12 car wash than here. They scrub the outside of the car from the top to the bottom then use air hoses and rags at the same time to make sure your car is perfectly dry. The owner goes out of his way to make sure you are satisfied. Today he pulled out a rag and started scrubbing the back of my car that was hit by some idiot in the burbs. The black markings have been there for months. I told him that those marks are probably permanent and he went into the back and grabbed a couple of bottles then mixed them together on a rag and literally erased all the paint that was on my bumper. Not sure what the chemical combination was but I sure appreciated him going out his way to clean up my car. This car wash will definitely be getting my business.

This place does a fantastic job and is fairly cheap. The owner is very approachable and friendly. I have a dog and she is always out and about with me. Because of her constant shedding, I have to get my car washed weekly, time permitting. $ 15 dollars is not a bad deal for a full interior and exterior hand wash, which includes air freshener and armor all on the tires. My favorite scent is Jasmine. Although, the lines can be long (especially in the winter time or weekends) I still endure the wait. Obviously, these people in line feel the same way I do.

I got my car washed there and they did a good job on the outside, but the inside vacuuming was pretty mediocre. My issue is when they asked what air freshener I wanted (comes complimentary). He pointed at the large number of air fresheners hanging on the wall, and I thought I’d give the «New Car Smell» a try.
I had assumed that they would hand me a freshener and if I were offended by it, I could get rid of it later. Not the case. Before I could stop them, they sprayed a sent onto the carpet of my car.
My second damming assumption was that «New Car Smell» would, in fact, smell like «New Car» and it would strengthen the new car smell already present in my relatively new car. Also not the case. My car now smells like the metallic ass of some kind of citrus animal crawled in there and died.
EDIT: The new car smell subsided within a week or two, and the proper new car smell came back. I still leave the review at three stars for service as described above. It’s not spectacular but gets the job done.

I gave three stars cause they did alright, and I should’ve just declined any car smell offered — I just didn’t realize it would be permanently sprayed onto the fabric of my newish car.

They do a good job on the outside of the car but can be pretty hit and miss on the inside. This, coupled with the (often times) long line, to actually get a half-​way decent wash, usually has me moving N/​E toward Wicker Wash on Division. Nice folk, though.
