By opening Art In Shades in Chicago, I’ve joined the family business started 12 years ago in Tulsa, Ok (Accent Blinds). Like many family owned businesses, I’ve learned first hand, with on the job training, what it means to actually listen to customers’ needs and wants. After a few years of listening to my family talk to me about starting my own window treatments business, I decided to team up with an up and coming Interior Designer and make it happen. With so many choices in Chicago, we decided to take our business in a direction that focuses on the highest level of customer services, hundreds of choices, as well as an extended focus on providing energy efficient options.

Living in Chicago for over 5 years now I’ve learned that their are people, myself included, that enjoy working with and giving local businesses a chance. That was what ultimately pushed me over the edge when I was deciding whether or not to start this business. Hopefully Chicago has room for one more.
