First of all, I would like to say that this clinic is a hidden gem. I never knew that this clinic exist until I searched it here on Unilocal.Thank you, Lupe (Front desk) for scheduling my appointment. Everything went smoothly. I was able to used also the deal that I got here on Unilocal.Thank you.
Last, thank you to Dr. Ryan Holmbeck, he was very attentive, professional and seems to care for my concerns. As a person working in a medical field, I would say that this place is awesome. Kudos to this clinic. Continue with the work that you guys are doing… I will definitely recommend this place.

After spending Labor Day weekend hobbling around due to a running-​related injury, I was relieved to find Ankle N Foot Centers on Unilocal and get an appointment with Dr. Gelbmann as soon as their office opened up after the long weekend. As a first-​time patient, I was nervous that they would give me a diagnosis and send me elsewhere for other specialty care, but no — they’re a one-​stop shop. I was able to talk with Dr. Gelbmann (who was super friendly and thorough), have x-​rays taken, get a diagnosis, and begin my physical therapy all in my first visit. As I’m training for a race, this efficiency (and his assurance that I’ll be back running in the next week or so) was such a relief. Also, the staff were great and very helpful! Highly recommend coming here.

I had been referred to Dr. Dave Gelbmann by a friend after my primary care doctor couldn’t seem to get it together. Boy, am I sure glad she did! Dr. Dave was AWESOME! I had been experiencing serious foot pain for several months and my primary care doctor was treating it as a neuroma which turns out, it was not in fact a neuroma at all. Dr. Dave was thorough and really made sure to take his time inspecting everything he could with my foot. He figured out the source of my pain and gave me the proper medicine to help relieve it. He suggested insoles I should be wearing to also help alleviate the pain. I left the office as if a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. He even called today to follow up with me to see how my foot was feeling. 5 star service all the way. Thanks Dr. Dave!

I had pain on the outer side of my ankle and foot, very painful to walk on. Made an appointment with Dr. Gelbmann at the Chicago Ave. office. Showed up on time. Staff was very nice and professional and I was seen immediately. Dr. Gelbmann was very friendly, patient, knowledgable, and thorough. After exam and in office X-​rays, turned out I had tendonitis. Among rest and ice he recommended a pair of more supportive inserts for my shoes (which he supplied) and prescribed Voltaren Gel to apply directly on the pain. He said he wanted me to try this for a week and see if I felt better. If no improvement then he would recommend getting a pair of custom fitted inserts and ultrasound therapy. It took a good day to get used to wearing the inserts and the gel turned out to be a little miracle in a tube! It’s been a week and I just got back from my follow up visit and have been pain free for the last 3 or 4 days. I highly recommend Dr. Gelbmann.

I don’t give anything 5 stars so take these 4 stars as a huge compliment. One day, out of the blue, I woke up with foot pain. The Urgent Care couldn’t find anything wrong with it, except some swelling and sent me home. A week later I still had pain so I went to Dr. Kurtz. Sure enough it was broken. It’s a small office and I usually go to big practices, but the staff and Dr. Kurtz never made me wait, and were so caring and attentive. I had a great experience with them. My foot is healing… so my journey’s not over but I highly recommend Dr. Kurtz.

When I had a foot injury I called this place simply because they are down the street from my office. My experience here was fantastic! I was so happy they were able to book me right away because I could barely walk. They were able to diagnose a stress fracture and get my treatment rolling quickly. Dr. Rivera was a HUGE help in my recovery. I was able to do a triathlon on schedule because I saw them and got treatment right away and started healing. All of my appointments were quick and enjoyable. And the office is brand new :)

Find another Doc… Yuck!
The office itself was very old and creepy. Almost 2 years later– I get a bill for over 500 $. To boot– my foot problems are still not fixed. They also kept bugging me to book check-​up appointments. I am glad I didn’t — who knows what they would have charged me! Skip this office.

I have been a patient of Dr Kurtz for almost 2 years now. I came to her after I broke my lil toe in August of 2010. As I runner, and in training for the Chicago Marathon, I was devastated when I heard this news. I even cried for a little while. But Dr Kurtz, a marathoner herself, was very sympathetic. She gave me a walking shoe and assured me that I would be able to continue my training in approximately 3 weeks. She was right and that year I completed Chicago.
Since then, I have see Dr Kurtz for the aches and pains that most runners get (or maybe its just me) as well as a stress fracture from last summer. Dr Kurtz has modified my insoles. given me running advice and encouragement, and even lets me call the office with random questions.
I highly recommend Dr. Kurtz, she’s personable, she’s funny, and all around great podiatrist.

When you do some running, *any* running — you need your two feet.
WORD.
So what happens when one of them suddenly stops to be cooperative? Like when it starts hurting like hell every step you take, every move you make? (the second part is just there for lyric quote purposes)
You first try to ignore it, then you ice it, you ibuprofene it, you look it up on the Internet, you talk about it with your friends and you finally go and see a doctor.
Dr. Kurtz’s practice is two blocks away from me. A definite plus when you have foot problems, right? She is also extremely competent, approachable, thorough and detailed in her explanations. Best of all? She is a runner as well and totally understand the insane «I-don’t-want-to-stop-running-because-I-hurt» bout. After a first visit where she took X-​rays of my left foot and asked me questions about my regimen she sent me for an MRI who showed that I didn’t have a stress fracture (hurray!) but that my pain was coming from a ganglion cyst on top of my foot that was pressuring the nerve (boo!!!)
Steroids injection, anti-​inflammatory, taping, new shoes and my left foot shouldn’t be a threat to Daniel Day Lewis’s anymore, and I should be able to run my marathon in 5 weeks!
Highly recommended. The hours are a little tricky but you can schedule appointments on line, parking is easy and the #66 stops almost right in front of it. Win!

Dr. Kurtz is awesome. She is super friendly, was dead on with my diagnosis (allergic reaction) and she is very easy to make an appointment with. I have found the perfect podiatrist for all my foot needs.
