Located in the heart of Chicago’s historic Beverly community, the Josh Mercer Insurance Agency is a full-​service Allstate agency, specializing in the exclusive sale and service of life, home, auto, and business insurance. We believe that insurance is the cornerstone of any sound financial and/​or life plan.

Business Owner

A product of Chicago’s Beverly community, Joshua Mercer attended both Sutherland Elementary and Brother Rice High School before graduating from Howard University (BBA, Marketing; 2003) in Washington, DC.

After graduating from college, Joshua began his career in retail banking and financial services with Chase Bank on Chicago’s south side. Noticing the lack of financial literacy in his customers and community, Joshua integrated himself as an Entrepreneurship/​Financial Literacy Instructor in Chicago Public Schools after having earned his Master’s (Education; 2006). In this role, Joshua received both local and nationwide acclaim for leading his students to repeated local and national finishes. In 2009, Joshua founded Swish Dreams Sports & Educational Foundation (www​.swish​dreams​.org), whose mission is to use sports as a vehicle to teach youth literacy and leadership. Today Swish Dreams serves over 700 children annually.
