Was referred by a Physician friend of mine, Highly Recommended dental clinic, Dr Becker is very accurate, professional and handles patients very well, thanks to Dr Becker, my mothers very Ill dental and oral health was treated.thoroughly.
Dr Kushner Jr, was very good at treating my condition, painless procedure, and both Dr Becker and Dr Kushner jr, were above and beyond expectation on every aspect of dental care .
I brought my whole family to the clinic! And they all had a wonderful experience .
Very nice front desk staff, and dental hygiene specialists, and nurses .
Would definitely recommend !

I have been going to Dr. Alan Kushner for over 25 years, wow … that is really amazing.
Dr. Alan Kushner has seen me through all of my dental issues throughout my adulthood. My first cavities, which have never given me a bit of trouble since they were first filled by him over 20 years ago, a fantastic referral to a dental surgeon when it was time for removal of all four wisdom teeth at once, and all my dental needs over all these years. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Alan Kushner, his son Dr. Jordan Kushner, Dr. Becker, and recently Dr. Miller. Additionally, they have always had fantastic dental hygienists keeping my teeth clean and providing me helpful feedback, after all, I want my teeth to remain healthy and in my mouth for all of my years!
And I cannot write a complete review without a mention of Dr. Kushner’s right hand — Lori. She has always been outstanding — her advice on insurance is amazing. She is friendly, and very kind. I know that she has played a major role in the success of this dental practice.
They are located very conveniently in downtown Chicago, in beautifully appointed offices. Outstanding, and calming views from the dental chair, and they run on schedule.
I would (and have) recommend (ed) Dr. Kushner, and any dentist in his practice, you will not be disappointed.

Easily the best dentist I’ve ever been to. Clean, comfortable office, nice operatories, and fantastic staff — from the front desk to the assistants, hygienists, and of course the dentists. I’ve seen Dr. Kushner senior and junior, and Dr. Becker, and all are the best in their game.

Dr. Kushner senior is probably the best dentist I have encountered. He is funny, personalized my visit, offered great advice on my resolution and most important did great quality work!

I have been going here for 4 years and have been very happy with my dental care. I never spend time in the waiting room and I’m usually in and out of the office in less than an hour, and have even been able to schedule same-​day appointments. I see the same dental hygienist every time, who is great. I’ve recommended Dr. Kushner and associates to 3 – 4 other people who have also been happy with their services.

Great place! Following some bad experiences, I’m a bit scare of the dentist, and it’s been a while since I’ve been to one. I saw Dr. Becker. The staff here is very nice and one taught me a new way (to me) to floss that doesn’t hurt my gums. I suppose my only complaint is that they don’t have evening hours, but that’s not the worst thing out there.

I have been going to Dr. Alan Kushner & Associates Dental office for over 4 years and am very happy with the level of care and service they provide. The convenient downtown office on 205 Michigan Ave, the office is really nice with beautiful view and it’s great for those of us who work in the area. The Hygienist Sheila and Brandi are very professional and always nice and friendly. They make you as comfortable as possible.
If you’r looking for the best dentist, look no further. Great location, friendly and talented staff, and amazing hygienists/​doctors.

i was in chicago for 3 years and went to this dentist and they were great. they were very helpful in fixing the problems my last dentist created, considerate of my budget, and good at their jobs.
the hygienists there were also very good at their job, which is not always the case at other dentists i’ve been to

I have been going to Dr. Alan Kushner & Associates for over 3 years. I have seen the older Dr. Kushner and the younger Dr. Kushner the majority of my visits. I have seen Dr. Becker, one of the associates twice in all my time going there. I have not been in the last year almost because I was in need to no services.
I called to make an appointment on August 8, 2014 because I broke one of my back teeth. My appointment was scheduled for August 20 (the earliest I could get an appointment.) Today, August 19, 2014, I was called by Laura (the receptionist/​bookkeeper) and told that Dr. Becker reviewed my account and that I owed $ 310 and he would not see me unless I paid the amount in full.
First off, I was unaware that I owed such an amount. I do have insurance, which cover most my visits, but I also paid a lot out pocket. An amount out of pocket almost every time I visited the Dr.‘s office. Laura explained to me that bills were sent out and some came back to the office. I moved shortly after my last visit to the office, so I did not receive any of the bills. I did not receive any calls to follow up after the bills came back because my number never changed.
To me it would only have been courtesy and respect for a patient who was faithfully patronizing your business to give me a quick call about this bill. No, it is not their fault at all I didn’t receive the bills, but there is this thing called customer service that most businesses are lacking nowadays.
When Laura called me she was very short, curt and basically rude about it (which is the way she always has been since I started going there.) I basically ignored her because I really did like both Dr. Kushner services and work ethnics. I asked her if I could just pay some arrangements and still see the Dr. Laura abruptly told me no that Dr. Becker (whom I only seen twice) said I would need to pay it in full before I would be seen. I don’t know if Laura treats everyone this way but she is not a good representation of the office. I wouldn’t be surprise I’d more patients have been lost due to her.
This is what I don’t appreciate and are very disappointed by. I would think that as many payment the office has received from my insurance and myself (and given the situation of my move and all) they would provide stellar customer service and allow me the opportunity to be seen. The fact that they did not and called me the day before my appointment (that had been scheduled nearly two weeks) is unacceptable.
I will pay the bills if proven that is what I actually owe, but I will no longer be visiting the office for services. It is sad the businesses no longer care about their patients, consumers., etc. It is all about the right now dollar. I am sure the office would have received much more than the $ 310 from me and my insurance over the long haul.

i went there for regular teeth cleaning. they did very poor job at it.
i may have to schedule another cleaning visit with some other dentist.
they were also more interested in selling additional products than good patient care. i wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

I’ve been going to Dr. Kushner for over 8 years now and I always feel very taking care of.
I started see Dr Kushner senior at first, but then, when I came back, after a while, he was gone for a knee surgery so his son Jordan took over and I couldn’t be happier.
I thought his dad was unbeatable, but I don’t even feel the «little pinch» he is warning me about before the anesthetic .
Super professionals and caring, the whole staff is so gracious.
Love Maria, she is been there since I started going and always ask about the family but in a caring and genuine way.
Also Lori, which is at front desk, handling insurance and billing part is great at making everything smoother.
She is honest and will try to help in any way with any kind of issues, offering practical solutions.
I always recommend this place to family and friends.
They also have the most competitive price in the whole city for the high quality they offer.

I chose this provider based on the Unilocal reviews — and I’m glad I did! The staff are very warm, friendly and caring. I have spoken with three dentists on separate occasions and they have all been professional and take the time to explain and answer questions. Clean office with great views of Michigan Ave from your chair. I’ve even referred 3 co-​workers here!

I’ve been going to Dr. Kushner for 5 years now. My first visits involved some fairly significant work — removing a filling, a crown, getting a night guard. Dr. Kushner Sr. & Dr. Kushner Jr. are great. I love their approach & honesty — both seem like great guys who actually care about their patients. Dr. K Sr. has even said, «Sometimes you pay me for what I don’t do, rather than what I do do,» to explain that there’s some things he wouldn’t do just to make a buck. (ie. whitening my teeth to an unnatural color, etc).
Sometimes it can take awhile to get an appointment when I have to reschedule my pre-​arranged one, but that’s because this is a good dentist in high demand. If he had tons of openings it would mean nobody wanted to go back.
(Dr. Becker — also at this practice– isn’t my favorite. He’s less personable and I don’t get the feeling that he cares as much as the other two. I’m not saying he’s a bad guy, I just feel more compassion and genuine concern from the other two.)

I thought my sedation dentist back in San Diego was the best, but Dr. Becker blew him out of the water!
I had to select a practice for my Dental HMO and chose based on Unilocal reviews (of course), and I am so glad I did! I had an unfortunate accident — my tooth broke in the middle of a Star Trek episode and I’ve never even been to my assigned dentist yet, but I called the next morning and they got me in in less than two hours after my call. I was lucky enough to get Dr. Becker, who fitted me with a temporary crown, then refitted me again the next day when it fell off (it stayed on until three weeks later when the permanent crown went on). He was gentle and understanding of my anxiety and made the whole thing super easy, if not enjoyable.
Due to my stellar insurance (100% coverage — yeah, baby!), I decided to finally fix the European made root canal, that every American Dr. told me I should, but it was always too expensive. Once again Dr. Becker did an amazing job! Not only was it painless (99% painless), he did an great job fixing the whole thing and doing it so well — I had no swelling at all, which was incredible, considering how much work was put into my poor jaw. I was also impressed that he didn’t just give me antibiotics, but told me to call him if I did get any swelling and he would then call them in for me — no need, the temporary crown is in place, there is no swelling, and after one day of Vicodin, I am off pain meds and feeling great.
I am thrilled that, once again, Unilocalers helped me find a solid business to support, and support it I will.

Great experience and pleasantly surprised! I had shopped around for months but kept bumping into cosmetic shops or practices that wouldn’t work with my insurer. Getting onboard with the Kushners’ practice was seamless and professional! Dr. Kushner Sr noticed a problem after a standard cleaning that I had complained about to other dentists (who did nothing) and he had me in the next week to fix it!
Everyone in the office is pleasant and efficient, plus you get a GREAT view in the chair! I had moved away from my previous dentist of 18 years and can already tell Dr. Kushner’s practice is a keeper!

My curse in life is terrible teeth. I had 5 root canals before I was 25, so I’m no stranger to dental treatment and the pain that goes with it. I’ve had two negative experiences in two years here, and they both can be chalked up to «I should’ve known better/​the dentist could’ve listened to me.»
1. I had to have a twice-​canaled molar pulled. Dr. Kusher Jr. asked if I wanted to go to an oral surgeon or have it done in the office. I knew the right answer was «surgeon» because the tooth was just a tiny nub in the way back of my tiny mouth. But he assured me it would be a piece of cake and they could get me in faster at the office, and I felt (invented?) pressure to be low-​maintenance. I almost felt sorry for Dr. K. Jr. because he tried so hard to get that sucker out, until I realized it was my gums and lips that he was shredding, and that I would hurt like a b*tch later. I had to go to the surgeon anyway to get all the shards left behind removed.
2. I had a new cavity on a virgin tooth. The pain was intense — more than a typical cavity — and I said as much to that Dr. Kushner Sr. when he suggested «we» skip the Novocaine. «Don’t be a wimp, woman. This is a tiny filling, and if I have to wait while you get numb, I’ll be annoyed.» (OK, those weren’t his exact words, but he clearly thought I was being a wuss, and pressured me to do it his way.) Then he said what they all say: «Just let me know if you feel pain and we’ll stop and numb you up.» Guess what — I felt pain! Right away! And I let him know! But he said «Just a little bit more» about ten times and kept on going while the tears pooled in my ears.
I don’t think either of these experiences reflect negatively on the quality of their work, and I absolutely realize I should’ve been more assertive. But the dentists’ chair-​side manner could definitely use improvement; a patient should never feel bullied into doing something.
Lately, I’ve been sticking with Dr. Becker, who seems to actually listen to me. I will not see Dr. Kusher Sr. any more. And, as God is my witness, I will never be afraid to DEMAND NOVOCAINE again.

Having recently left a dentist who practiced more of the cosmetic and expensive type of dentistry, I was really worried when some misinformation led me to enroll in a lesser insurance plan. I had been wanting to switch dentists, but not to submit myself to a bad dentist because of insurance restrictions. I was subsequently thrilled when I saw Kushner & Assoc. were part of my new network, and that they had good ratings to boot!
I want to vouch for the professionalism of the office. I felt like I was visiting a doctor’s office, not being solicited for more dental care (as I had been with my previous provider). The staff was welcoming and completely accommodating. It was clear I was completely in the driver’s seat regarding my care and its related costs. It was a refreshing change and I am glad I made the switch. I do not want to sacrifice care for cost, but some sensitivity is very much appreciated. I look forward to establishing my dental care with Kushner & Assoc.

My last review of Dr. Kushner’s office was less than enthusiastic.
Turns out Dr. Alan Kushner Sr.‘s son Dr. Kushner Jr. watches Unilocal,read my review, and gave me a call to figure out how to make everything alright.
I’ve been back several times. Young Dr. Kushner is awesome. He took out the two cavities and refilled them from scratch. Perfecto. No jagged edges, floss works, etc. Pro job.
He’s also done, I think, 4 more fillings and a root canal for me and been awesome. My insurance was running out from one job and they’ve been awesome at working around that and fitting me into their schedule wherever they can.
I fully expected my root canal to be awful… instead it was easy breezy. Awesome.
And ladies… I saw this in another review… but even as a totally straight male… I can admit young Dr. Kushner is probably the hottest dentist in Chicago, lol.
