Pain had become the norm for me. I was told that the accident had ruined my back/​neck and I would never be without pain again unless I do surgery or take strong pain killers consistently. This is wrong. The back can heal on its own (or at least get back to a 99% status) in many situations (not all of course — there are exceptions I’m sure). This I have learned from going to Dr. Ingham.
The process is clearly explained… however, it’s a lot to take in… and a lot to commit to… It’s not just a quick fix… It’s not surgery… It’s a life choice you have to make…
If you follow it and make sure to do the extra things (the neck/​low back towel… the exercises and stretches… the better daily posture practices) when you are not at his office for the treatments, you will get better!.. and you’ll stay good too. This is a fact. Without the exercises and stretching, you will only feel better for a little while and then it’ll come back again pretty quickly. The muscle stability/​strength and mobility needs to build up around the spine in order to get back to a pain free life. Of course, this will lead to a better posture, which is a big key to a long term pain free back.
If you have chronic back pain, head aches, neck pain, bad posture, go see Dr. Ingham… but be sure to listen (forget what you’ve heard or what you think is how things should be done), and stick to the program.

Drs Stellar and Ingham have helped me get out of pain. I highly recommend their care. The healing process is just that, a process. So, it takes time to get better. The office is a very welcoming place, with mixed care spaces, meaning they do physical therapy and adjustments and electric stimulation in the same space. All the staff are welcoming and kind and remember your name. That was huge for me. I went in just to get an X-​ray because I was having a lot of foot pain and thought I may have aggravated an old stress fracture. I had done that, but they went more in depth and found that my hips were uneven and were causing the fracture. They did segmented care, each one lasting approximately 6 weeks. Each time I felt like giving up because it was too hard, they always encouraged me to keep going until I felt all the way better. If you are having pain, I highly recommend going to ASSC to see if they can help you.

Where should I start… I was desperate when I went for a first visit to Advanced Spine. My pain caused my muscles to cramp up to the point I was afraid to not be able to walk in the soon future. I was evaluated by Doctor Stellar but few first visits were performed by Ingham. After every visit I asked for a receipt and Margie (the front desk lady) refused to provide one, each time saying that I should get a bill from my insurance soon. I did get a bill 5 months later.
I was going 3 times a week for adjustments with Ingham and after every adjustment I felt that if I tip to the side my spine may break. The 3^rd time I was adjusted by Ingham I was not able to turn my head right for 1.5 months. Since then I have pain in my neck. I didn’t have that issue before. One time when Ingham wasn’t there, Dr. Stellar adjusted me and I finally felt better. But the more I went the worse I felt. They kept saying that it has to get worse before it gets better. Also every time when I asked for exercises or stretches they gave me bits and pieces but never anything solid. They were saying that I’m not ready for that yet. Then I was offered to go for a massage with Teig. The first trial massage was ok. He focused on my arm and my pain subsides for that evening. I decided to continue getting massages with him once a week. The first time he tried his best so I booked second appointment. He was tired and smelled like alcohol. I didn’t feel relief after this or any consecutive massage because instead of massaging me he was barely touching because he was tired. The difference between Ingham and Dr. Stellar was that she listened and sympathized with me where he treated each patient as a number. Lay down, what’s your pain number?, crack crack, see you in 2 days. It lasted 3 months, 3 long months of pain, tears, dissatisfaction, un professionalism and $ 3,000 wasted. I walked out from that place with the same problems I walked i n But $ 3000 lighter. Good advice to those who consider going there. Please don’t, you will be another number in the money making machine.
It turned out that my spine is in a good shape but I have neuromuscular problems with possibility of fibromyalgia. Ingham told me that I have uneven hips and twisted spine and he will fix it by spine manipulation. My hips and my spine are twisted because of my muscle spasm not because there is something wrong with my spine as Ingham diagnosed me.

I’ve been going here for a couple months due to some back pain I was having. It was at the point where it was all I could do to get out of bed in the morning. I’ve definitely seen improvement, and I’m even at the point where I can do low impact cardiovascular exercise such as eliptical or stair climber machines.
On top of the health improvements, I’d like to say the staff is very attentive and friendly. And they don’t just treat your symptoms, but they take time to educate you on why you are experiencing what you are experiencing, which is very helpful for me and helps me to make good spinal health decisions on my own time.

I have been visiting ASSC for about a month now for a workers comp injury. Dr. Steller has been incredible with her very attentive care and concern for my recovery. I learned of ASSC quite by chance when (NOTE WELL, all bosses and managers) my employer offered a massage day for the faculty and staff. I took them up on an offer for a free exam and have thoroughly enjoyed the results! I am in less discomfort, I have more spinal mobility, I sleep better! The doctors and staff at ASSC make the effort to get to know who you are, and how what they do affects how you live. If you are experiencing any kind of spinal/​neck discomfort, or if you’ve benefited from chiropractic care in the past and know it is time to return, ASSC is the place to go! One Friday night my back locked up so bad I couldn’t even get out of bed and walk. Advanced Spine and Sports Care saw me immediately the next morning as a new patient. As an athlete that was supposed to compete in one week I was extremely worried about what the recovery timeline would be. Dr. Steller completely understood my timeline and passion for competing. With an aggressive treatment schedule I was intelligently able to continue training and perform at optimal levels. The whole staff is extremely friendly and genuinely seems to care about my wellbeing. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of treatment or even for a checkup.

I can’t say enough about the customer service to care! It starts with a warm greeting every visit by Marcy to the exceptional care from every member there. It’s nice to know I’m in such good hands and everyone is looking to help make my visit comfortable and productive!

Dr. Ingham is awesome and a very good adjustor. I’ve had a lot of trouble with chiropractors being able to adjust me — they can’t get the manipulations they are trying to go, and it’s frustrating for everyone.
Not so with Dr. Ingham. His methods work, and I always leave feeling better than when I came in.
The roller tables are also heaven. I definitely suggest taking a visit to this practice if you are in the market for a chiropractor!

A.S.S.C. is a great place that truly cares about their clients/​patients.
I’ve been with them for a long time (until my insurance lapsed, otherwise I would’ve stayed longer) and I’ve had very good experience with them.
Dr. Ingham is a great personable doctor who doesn’t only fix crooked backs and hips, but also takes personal approach to his patients.
In my case, I had a misunderstanding with the reception assistant and I was quite frustrated, but after talking to Dr. Ingham he fixed everything right away and he was genuinely concerned for me and wanted to fix the issue right away. It’s truly amazing to see that level of personal care.
Eugene, the physical therapist is also pretty amazing. He’ll show you exercises to make your back feel great and he’ll work with you one on one, making sure you’re doing things right. He’s got a great sense of humor and he makes hard exercise feel a little easier with his jokes and his awesome music selection.
Overall I would recommend Advanced Spine & Sports Care to my friends. If you ever have an issue or a question, just talk to Dr. Ingham and he’ll do anything possible to make your experience a 5-​star plus!

I came here for the first time last week and the service was perfect. I have never been to a chiropractor before and each doctor was on time and explained to me what needed to be done without «overselling» me on anything. Really glad I chose this place. I wanted to go in recently and did not make an appointment. Dr Ingham and crew accommodated me well and there was barely any wait. They make each person a priority and value everyone’s time.

These guys are great. The rehab has been helping my back out immensely and Eugene has been a godsend in helping me get my strength back. I definitely recommend these guys for any back pain you may have.

I came down with a serious lower back injury earlier this summer. After weeks of trying yoga and massages to remedy my pain, I heard of Dr. Aho from a dear friend. I went in for a consultation and he was able to pin point exactly what was causing my pain. After weeks of listening to his advice on what to do and going in for adjustments I am proud to say I am pain free!
I would recommend this office and Dr. Aho to everyone! He is very smart and extremely friendly. I have an incredibly busy schedule and I still was able to fit in 30 minute appointments multiple times a week.
Also, the facilities are clean, and the staff is incredibly nice. Every time I walk in I am engaging in conversations with everyone from Marcy at the front desk to Eugene the physical therapist/​trainer! They are always so pleasant.
Between Dr. Aho’s magic hands for adjustments and the courteous staff I would highly recommend coming here for any injury that Chiropractic services can be of service!

Dr. Ingham saved me from surgery. I suffered from severe debilitating lower back pain last year. Everybody I spoke to told me to go through with surgery. Dr. Ingham did a thorough consultation and told me that he would get me back into shape without going under the knife. He was right and for that, I’m forever thankful. Through chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy and constant handholding, I am BACK in shape and no longer have pain. I have since referred him friends who have been happy with his care and will continue to do so!

Jason Ingham used to be on the uptown (Magnolia street) location a few years back and I assuming that his practice moved because of the bad reviews.
Beware when he needs to make repeated appointments. Ask questions and get answers in writing. He will tell you that he accepts your insurance and your normal co-​pay.
Ask him to put in writing, the initial consultation fee. Get a receipt explains the charge when you leave.
Do not make the same mistake that I did. I trusted him when he was giving me repeated appointments and saying that my insurance will cover it and in the end he changed me $ 2000.00 dollars.
I posted this review a couple years ago, but he closed the previous location, so assuming Unilocal deleted it because of that reason. I just want to people to be aware and be careful with their money

The quality of care was very good (five stars). I am rating a single star because I was lied to and now I am being charged a full year of service for 3 months of service. Prior to signing on, I explained clearly that I was only in Chicago for 3 months. Dr Ingham said that would not be a problem and I would only pay for the months of service provided.
I explained my agreement to Tonya and she disputes that. Now I am told by Tonya that I have to pay for the entire year and I am being charged $ 316.66 every month for the additional months. Plain and simple I was lied to by Dr. Ingham and I don’t appreciate that.

As you consider using this provider, read the one-​star review of Brian B., whose description of how he was erroneously charged and misled by this service provider is spot on. I attest the exact same thing happened in my case.
Yes, the office is neat, the staff is efficient, and you get a gift bag as a new patient. However, BEWARE! DO NOT BE FOOLED.
All info related to those x-​rays, your supposed diagnosis, necessity of frequent appointments/​treatment plan, insurance, and associated payment is likely to be convoluted and/​or grossly exaggerated.
Avoid the time, money, and disappointment. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Try seeing a certified sports movement specialist or physical therapist.
Finally, back and neck pain are no fun, and I truly hope you or your loved one gets better soon. God bless.

I came to Advanced Spine and Sports over three years ago after two of my lumbar spine bones got yanked out of whack. I’m a golf professional, so this was beyond debilitating – I had no livelihood. My father ingrained me with a distaste for chiropractic, so I went with more skepticism than pain… and I had a LOT of pain. I had walked around my home for ten days unable to stand straight.
The care, hospitality, and professionalism I have received is why I continue to believe in ASSC and Drs. Ingham and Aho, and their support staff – special props to Physical Therapist Eugene Bayona. My routine was to have a rollout on the massage bed, electro-​stimulation and damp heat to loosen the tension, physical therapy, and then my adjustment. My sessions were three times per week for the first few months, then the span between visits increased. I currently go once per month and more frequently if I re-​injure, but I don’t hear, «Oh! Reset. You have to come here a lot again… Ka-​chiiiing!!!» Dr. Ingham makes sure I am whole again, doing what he does to help me heal.
Having read the reviews already posted, I want to address the complaints about billing. Blue Cross doesn’t do many favors to clarify… but the doctors did. I was confused and angered when I was reading the billing because I was still getting charged $ 250 per month after meeting my deductible. Advanced Spine and Sports maxes out the monthly payment at $ 250. Dr. Ingham probably had to explain this to me again because at my consult I was probably too distracted by the pain, and I didn’t understand the process in practice.
I appreciate the comprehensive treatment and welcoming environment of this place. I can play again, teach again, move again!

I have been going to Dr. Ingham for quite a while now. I saw him at the old location and followed him to the new location on Belmont. Dr. Ingham is very knowledgeable and is up on the new and current chiropractic issues. I was referred to him by my M.D. He is very respected among his peers. This tells me a lot about his professionalism and trust with his contemporaries.
I have had issues with bulging C5 & C6 discs. Treatment with Dr. Ingham has helped to not have to have surgery and I remain symptom free!
I have Blue Cross insurance, I used to have United Health Care. I have never had ANY issues with billing. I get my statements, I make my payments. The statements are detailed so I know exactly what was billed to my insurance. I find it very honest.
I love the staff at ASSC too. Always friendly and helpful.
