Dr. Barnes: Dr. Adrienne Barnes is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Dr Barnes attended Georgetown University School of Dentistry where she received her Doctorate of Dental surgery. She went on to complete her specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Barnes has been practicing children’s dentistry since 1991. She is a Illinois licensed pediatric dentist and is board eligible by the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Her affiliations include: American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Illinois State Dental Society, Chicago Dental Society and the National Dental Association.

Our 3 kids don’t mind the dentist at all since we started going to Dr. Barnes. She has an excellent, gentle, hygienist (never hurts them when cleaning teeth) and she and her staff are patient and great with kids, even reluctant ones. We highly recommend her! The office facility is really nice too. Also, the parking is convenient, only $ 2 in the garage across the street.

My son is 2 yrs old and has been going to Dr. Barnes since he was 1. She and her staff are extremely friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable in their field. She answers all questions and gives great advice. It is also very clear that she CARES about my son’s dental hygiene and health.
Wait times are never long, if we aren’t in a room exactly at the time of our appointment, we’ve never waited more than 5 minutes. The staff always greets us by our names when we come & I’m big on that type of thing. I like being made to feel comfortable & even special.
There’s also a treasure chest that the kids get to take a prize out of at the end of their appointments, in addition to a candy bowl, (ironic but my sweet tooth ain’t complaining).
The office is not near our home but it’s totally worth the commute & I’m so glad to have found it. I recommend her to any and every one with a little (or not so little) munchkin. Awesome pediatric dentist.

I was looking fwd to taking my kids in for their dental exam however due to her limited hours (and lack of respect to her patients in my opinion) I either had to bring my kids in at 730 in the morning before school (we all know how easy those school mornings are to begin with!!) or pull them out of school to get to the dentist because she doesn’t see her young kids during late hours or on saturdays! WHAT???
no thanks! I will take my business elsewhere!

Good dentist, all the latest and greatest tools. Hours really stink. They expect kids to get out of school early for most appointments… few evenings. Very expensive, so expect to pay $$$ even with insurance.

Dr. Barnes and her staff are fantastic. They make the kids feel so relaxed. They get to pick the flavors for their fluoride and the cleaning gel. They also show them how to brush on their big fake teeth (which I find extremely funny). Once they are done, they get a sticker and a prize from the treasure box.
My kids love their dentist. Yes, they do. :)

Wow, very disappointing. I was a prospective new customer; however will not be using them as a dentist for my child. I called with a big concern that my daughter ‘s lip had become stuck between her two front teeth, and that I would like to get her in ASAP (hopefully same day or the next) to fix the problem. They told me they were solid booked for the next three weeks, and that I could make an appointment almost a month from when I called. SERIOUSLY? This isnt a standard check-​up /​cleaning, this is an semi-​emergency issue that needs to be taken care of ASAP. Cant you fit someone in during your lunch or stay an extra 15 minutes to help a fellow community member that lives a block away from your practice??? Very disappointing customer service, and I will be traveling many more miles to see a dentist that truly cares about helping people out.

My three year old son had his first dentist appt today with Dr. Barnes, and we had a wonderful experience all around. The receptionist, assistant and dentist were all attentive, kind, engaging, and sensitive. Dr Barnes explained every step to me and my son and took her time. ABC Dentistry is wonderful!

Dr. Barnes always takes her time. She explains everything as she goes and my kids LOVE going to the dentist. Sometimes she runs a little late, but we don’t mind since we always feel like we get such great attention from her and her staff.

This dentist is in another location now. She’s on Maxwell street downtown. I took my 3 year old here for her very first visit, on the recommendation of another parent. Dr Barnes was very patient with my daughter, who was scared. I thought Dr Barnes did a really nice job with her. She took her time, really talked my daughter thru the process, and coaxed her into letting her look in her mouth, floss her teeth, etc. Very gentle. Staff was very courteous and helpful in navigating my dental insurance as well. Office is well set up and my daughter was amused while we were waiting. Also, I liked that the dentist took her time and wasn’t popping in and out like adult dentists often do.
