Specialties
Across the Table is a non-profit organization which bridges gaps between our diverse communities by uniting Chicagoans for dynamic conversations and delicious dinners at restaurants, cooking schools, art galleries and event space all over the city of Chicago.
Dinners take place in groups of ten and the conversation is led by a facilitator around a topic chosen specifically to lead to an understanding and appreciation of participants’ differences and common experiences.
Our dinners offer you a fun, interesting, comfortable and enlightening way for us to connect to the diverse individuals with whom we share our city.
Thank you for your interest, we look forward to having dinner with you soon!
History
Established in 2009.
After living in Chicago for about ten years Lauren Beznos Grossman had become quite familiar with the wonderful diversity of our city but wanted to insure that all Chicagoans had the chance to develop connections and relationships with people whose backgrounds and perspectives are different from their own.
Always a fan of having delicious meals & diving into interesting conversation, Lauren thought that there is no better venue for people from all of these communities to come together than over the dinner table & so, Across the Table was born.
Across the Table is young but has grown very fast! Since launching in June of 2009, we have already connected over one hundred Chicagoans, had many amazing conversations & eaten a lot of delicious food.
We look forward to growing & working to unite Chicagoans over many more delicious dinners & lively conversation.
