A Saccone & Sons

As far as I’m concerned, my fiancé and I’s apartment is worth every penny. These guys have ALWAYS taken care of any issue we have had, and fast. We were just about to give up on our search, when we found our current apartment on Craigslist. They were great to work with, got back to us quickly any time we had a question, and we renewed our current lease and will continue to do so until we can move on to bigger and better things. But in the meantime, I’d recommend ANY place managed by these guys to anyone looking for a place.

First, the facts. I lived in their Logan Square unit four years and I renewed three times. ‘Nuff said?
I had a budget (but good value!) apartment that Saccone & Sons managed. It wasn’t high-​end, but Saccone & Sons treated me with the highest service. I had an issue every few months and Saccone & Sons were there the next morning addressing the problem. This ranges from recoving from a burglary, to frozen pipes, to rodent control. Not trivial stuff, and they had my back each and everytime!
One time I was trying to decide whether to take a job offer out-​of-​state and it happened at the exact time I needed to renew my lease. Instead of putting the pressure on me even more, Saccone & Sons gave me options and worked with me very patiently and professionally to create a great outcome!
I worked with them to make sure they got what they needed for a full refund of my deposit, and I got back every penny plus interest! This blew me away since my past landlords always dinged me for stuff and I end up losing hundreds on bogus stuff. Not Saccone & Sons!
My hat is off to Jim Saccone, who was my main contact. He has the perfect level of contact — there when you need him but never intrusive. Also, he is the master of e-​mail, being versant in all the newfangled technologies, and an excellent written communicator. But if you like using the phone, George is great too!
I am going to miss Saccone & Son and would most definitely seek them out if I were moving back to Chicago. You can’t go wrong with these guys.

After having some pretty rotten landlord experiences I am so thankful to have found a place with Saccone & Sons. They are extremely timely and very professional. Not to mention that they are very kind and stand-​up gentleman. This is very hard to find in a big city and it makes such a huge difference! Our apartment is beautiful and very reasonably priced. If I ever have to move I will make sure and only find properties that they own!

I met with James who showed my partner and me a few places in Logan Square. James was really professional and clearly cared a lot about maintaining the integrity of this family owned business. Unfortunately, the places available for March were too big for us (I get spooked in large places), but they were gorgeous and well-​maintained. In my next move, I will be certain to check out the A. Saccone & Sons properties.

When I «stumbled» across an apartment about 7 years ago in North Center I was a little skeptical as it was an OLD building but the price was right. Little did I know I was going to be working with one of the best management companies in the city… the gold standard. In 7 years they were always attentive, flexible if the rent was a few days late (never a late fee) and always responded to service calls ASAP. Water heater down… plumber sent on a Sunday night within an hour. Fridgerator broke, new one within 24 hours. Furnace shot, new one within 24 hours. I can’t say enough about what a great company this is. Having bought my own place now, my security deposit was received in full even though the apartment shows the wear of 7 years. Inferior companies would have charged me for every spot on the carpet but these guys are honest and understanding. If you can rent a Saccone property do it, if they could I’m sure they would complete all transactions the old way, with a handshake… thats what great people do.

I’ve been recommending these guys to all of my friends looking for apartments. I love my Logan Square apartment. It’s a refurbished studio for a really fair price. If I ever have a problem, the landlords are immediately attentive. All of the employees are always calm and organized; they told me I accidentally paid twice months ago (I didn’t notice) and that they were ripping up my last check! If I ever move anywhere else in Chicago, I’ll go through A. Saccone & Sons again!

I can’t express how thankful I am waking up in a Saccone apartment. I have been living in one of their Logan Square apartments for almost three years now and they are so attentive. Barely any problems with their apartments, but if there is, they are there within a day leaving a nice note that they completed the request.
If I ever have to relocate, I will be searching for only their apartments.

I’m on my second year living with this company and they are beyond fantastic. If there is ever a problem in the building or in my unit, it gets fixed within 24 hours if not in the same day. I am very impressed by their service and hope to continue a relationship with them for a very long time.

I didn’t realize how responsive A. Saccone & Sons was until I moved. I rented 2 apartments for 5 years and am looking to rent again. If you are a fan of responsive landlords, I would highly advise renting from these guys. I typically interact with Jim, but all the guys are friendly, attentive and responsive. I look forward to renting from them again soon.
If you are considering renting from them, do it!

I rent a commercial property from Saccone. For the past six years they have been nothing but fair, responsive and helpful. We recently had a serious problem and they solved it quickly, effectively and, I’m sure, at great expense, no questions asked. They are also extremely polite and respectful not only to me, but also to my team, which goes a long way with me. My only complaint is that they are not particularly proactive but their responsiveness more than makes up for it.

If there was a sixth, seventh or even tenth star A. Saccone & Sons would get every one! I truly cannot praise Jim and his family enough for the outstanding service and acute attention I was given as a tenant that last 2 years. From the moment I expressed interest in my unit, Jim and his other employees gave me the information I needed as well as support like no other rental agency in the city of Chicago!
If ANYTHING ever needed a repair or attention they were all easily accessible and immediately provided me with either a repair or a date and time they could accommodate me, all remarkable! It truly saddens me to leave my apartment as anyone in the market for a new apartment would be fortunate to have the opportunity to work with this family business.
I MUST give yet another tremendous thanks and praise to Jim, as I appreciated all that was done for me and envy those people who will have or currently have the pleasure of working with him and all the Saccone employees!

I don’t have S&S’s as my management company but the building across the alley does. About three weeks ago, there was a refrigerator cardboard box left next to their dumpster. The tenants started to use the box as a dumpster. It eventually started to overflow because the sanitation company wouldn’t pick it up.
I saw the plaque on the building indicating that it was managed by Saccone and Sons. I made 1 call and spoke to George H. He was receptive on the phone and had the situation rectified in 24 hours.
If your looking for a management company you should consider Saccone & Son’s.

The best. We’re part of a condo association that uses Saccone & Sons as a management company. They are unfailingly great: Quick to respond, smart, and levelheaded. Highly recommended.

Spoke with Jim at Saccone & Sons after an unfortunate incident involving the independent owner of 1200 W. Roscoe, a property operated by Saccone & Sons.
Although Jim and his company had nothing to do with the behavior of the property owner, he nonetheless apologized for the situation and offered to show me other properties in the area that may fit my needs.
Jim seemed like a true, honest professional and someone I would consider for my apartment needs in the future!!!

Our condo association was self-​managed for 10 years and we did a pretty bang up job… but as we hit the 10-​year mark, the amount of maintenance issues were starting to pile up and it just became too much work for us to manage with having full-​time jobs.
So I went to my trusty resource, Unilocal,and found Saccone & Sons. The reviews seemed almost too good to be true. We priced out bids with them and 2 other companies and they had the best price AND best reviews. George came out and inspected our building and answered all of our 50 questions. We didn’t want to be locked into a contract, and he completely understood that and said all he’d need is a 30-​day notice to cancel our agreement. We figured we’d try them out for 2 months and see if we notice a difference. Immediately, we noticed a difference. Right away, he started getting contractors out to inspect the things we wanted to get fixed and had pricing for us. The thing I love about George is that he’s so easy to talk to and I know I can trust him. He’s very honest about what needs to be fixed and what doesn’t need to be fixed. He has our best interest in mind and that is really hard to find.
It’s been one year now since we hired them, and we just went over our expenses and savings for the year. Saccone & Sons saved us over $ 10,000 in one year on our normal operating expenses. And that was AFTER paying Saccone’s management fees. He pointed out what vendors were ripping us off and suggested more affordable ones. It’s been amazing working with them and we couldn’t be happier about our decision. I highly recommend these guys!

I tried to rent an apartment from them 3 weeks ago. As I was browsing through craigslist housing ads, I liked 3 apartments — all managed by Saccone. So I called up, talked to a guy named George and told him about those 3 properties that I liked. He said he would show the all 3 apartment the next day for a showing and we agreed on the first location/​showing and time. He was nice and professional. Nextday (the nightmare) i called them in the morning to confirm my appointment (yes i called) and tried to speak with George but he was not in. Instead Joe was going to show the places and i spoke to him. He said that 3 places were too far away from each other and it would take 2 hours from his day (OMFG!) I told him that i really liked all 3. But he said that «Sir you need to choose the area you want to live, not 3 different neighborhoods» He had an attitude, i was still nice. He said he wouldnt show all three because he wanted me to choose only 1. I even offered him a ride. then i got pissed off and asked why was he treating really bad. He said lets just forget it and hung up. What a guy!
MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO TEACH THIS GUY HOW TO DO HIS JOB.
3 locations were: clark and cornelia, 1300 N block of some street in Old Town (lasalle or something), and one location in Bucktown 2200 something west.

I’m about to leave a lease with Saccone and Sons. I wasn’t in the best apartment, but they were a good group that I would rent from again.
The properties tend to be cheap — I got a huge 3br near California Blue for $ 895/​mo. It was recently acquired, so Jim Saccone tole us to «kick the tires» and let him know what needed fixing. I’m usually very suspicious of language like that from a landlord, but for the most part our maintenance calls were answered and responded to promptly. A couple of the guys there were difficult (trying to blame leaks on us, neglecting to send over repairmen), but the good experiences outnumber the bad. Every time I spoke with Jim directly things were taken care of.
This is good, because the place definitely needed it. The apartment is in dire need of a gut rehab — counters are warped, showers back up or leak, heat was broken, etc. Again, the place has been recently acquired, and Jim’s made a pretty honest effort in fixing anything we’ve found wrong with the place, so I can’t blame the property on poor management. I’m still –little– nervous about the security deposit, but if I don’t update this review just assume that it was distributed fairly and without any surprises.
In the end, I feel like this is a pretty stand-​up group that just needs to have better properties to rent.
Also, Rachel A. has it right — Mike and Jim P. are totally rad, I actually wanted to grab a beer with those guys after I signed the lease. After seeing dozens of apartments in the city, they are hands-​down the best guys who’ve shown properties to me. If I was looking in Saccone territory for my next apartment I would have called them first thing.

I absolutely love the service and experience I have had with the folks at A. Saccone. Any maintenance request was responded to within 24 hours and they usually sent someone out within 24 hours of talking to us. Being one of two female tenants, I think we had more requests than usual. Clogged drains, rat traps in the patio, changing the light bulbs on our really high ceiling fan… They’ve helped with everything. The pilot light went out on our heater in the dead of winter and the problem was fixed the very next day with a large apology.
I would highly recommend renting any apartment from them! I don’t think they update their website often with rentals, but I’m sure if you call they can help you out with something.

I have lived in a Saccone and Sons managed building for 13 years. They are wonderful. Reliable. By the book integrity.
When it starts to get cold in October, I had heat when a lot of other renters I know had to wait for their landlords to turn it on.
Very good people.

I lived in a Saccone apartment for my first 2 years in Chicago (up until last Sunday), and my experience with them was great.
The apartment itself was actually a pretty nice 1.5 bedroom in southeastern Logan Square, and was more than enough room for me. The rent was dirt cheap, which made most of my friends on the red line insanely jealous. The neighbors and neighborhood were/​are great, and I’m glad to have started my Chicago life at that place.
I rarely had any problems with things breaking, but the few times I did they took care of things right away. The only bad thing was that it was hard to get ahold of them on weekends. Good, overall, though.
