My students stay with me for years, and many of my first students I still teach to this day. I view [music] education as a never-ending process of discovery, assimilation, forgetting, relearning and enjoyment, and I strive for my students to acquire as broad a knowledge base as I have. I’m patient and demand the same patience of my students. The most important lesson I teach is for students to be patient with themselves, but to never settle for any less than the best they can manage.

I graduated from Kalamazoo College under full scholarship with BAs in Chemistry and in Music, following graduation, I studied piano under a masterful professor at the University of Montana and then again at the Chicago Conservatory of Music.

I view [music] education as a never-ending process of discovery, assimilation, forgetting, relearning and fun. I’m patient and demand the same patience of my students. I teach students to be patient with themselves, but never to settle for any less than the best they can manage.

At the beginning of 2013, I released my first album, a collection of solo piano compositions entitled The Sinking of Venice, which can be found on iTunes, Google Music and CD Baby.
