Eye Specialists Center (www.eyespecialistscenter.com) is a multi-doctor, full-service ophthalmology practice serving both children and adults, with four locations in Chicagoland (Chicago Ridge, Orland Park, Hinsdale) and Northwest Indiana (Munster). Patient appointments are available from Monday to Saturday, including evening and same-day visits. Eye Specialists Center is the evolution of the practice started in 1957 by Karl E. Ticho, MD and has grown to include three additional partners: (Dr. Karl’s son) Benjamin H. Ticho, MD, Jonathan Buka, MD and Alexander J. Khammar, MD. They are all board-certified ophthalmologists, sometimes known as «Eye MDs» because they are medical doctors. The practice also includes several other doctors, and has an in-house optical department for patients’ convenience.

Manager
Dr. Vasaiwala is Fellowship trained in Cornea and Refractive Surgery and specializes in the management of difficult corneal diseases, as well as general ophthalmology treatment. Her professional interests include dry eye, corneal infections, keratoconus, corneal transplant surgery, ocular surface reconstruction and cataract surgery.
Dr. Vasaiwala is originally from the Hartford, CT area. She earned her Bachelor of Science in biology and biomedical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and her medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School under the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. Dr. Vasaiwala completed her internship at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, IL, and then completed both her ophthalmology residency and cornea fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Vasaiwala is an active member of the Cornea Society, The American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
