Dr. Schoenfeld was great! I went in to fix my deviated septum and was expecting a painful and rough recovery. I have to say that the surgery and recovery was no problem at all and far better then I was anticipating. I didn’t even know that I wasn’t breathing well until now — Wow, what a difference! Also, my wife said I’ve stopped snoring which is awesome!

Renu is fantastic! The staff if always so helpful and I find it to be a really relaxing place. I mainly go to Renu for laser hair removal. So easy and painless! I started treatments in another state and was able to follow up here, as they use the Soprano Laser.
I recommended them to everyone!

Very disappointed in Renu. I’ve been going periodically for facials and have been so pleased. When I finally decided to get Botox my first choice was, of course, Renu. I went in for help with the «11» between the eyes. Even though this place was more per unit of Botox than other places I looked at, I went with Renu given my past experiences. After the suggested «wait» time of four weeks I saw no results in between my eyes — the 11 area. When I called to express my concerns the receptionist basically said too bad. You can come in and we can administer Botox again, but you’ll be charged per unit used. After spending $ 600 with less than half the results expected I’ll pass. Not only will I not go back for injections, now I need a new esthetician for my facials. The sad part is I don’t even think anyone but the receptionist knows Renu just lost a client and all my referrals.

Dr Schoenfeld is the best for facial plastic surgery, Botox and fillers. He does just enough to enhance your beauty but will tell you «no» if something won’t look good. I trust him 1000%. He’s an artist.
Jayme is the best for IPL, Fraxel, laser hair removal and Botox. She’s very personable and knowledgeable and does excellent work.
The entire staff is friendly and accommodating. Saturday hours are awesome.

I absolutely love Dr. Schoenfeld and his practice! They are very friendly and very helpful! I had a procedure done about a month ago. I absolutely love my results. Dr. Schoenfeld is by far one of the best doctors I have had, hands down. When I had my consultation, it felt like I had been going to see Dr. Schoenfeld for a while. That was the first time. I definitely recommend Dr. Schoenfeld and his practice if you are someone looking for an upbeat, positive, and friendly environment. Dr. Schoenfeld truly cares about his patients and knows EXACTLY what he is doing. That’s the best feeling you can get!

I went here for a Septoplasty procedure and though I was really nervous at first, Dr Schoenfeld reassured me that I was making the right choice. He was really nice to me and every time I was nervous he or his assistant Yvonne, would make me feel at ease. My healing so far has been really beautiful and my nose looks great. He was knowledgeable, professional and put my folks at ease. (They were pretty nervous too!) As you can see i’ve only written one other review on Unilocal,so I only write reviews when I feel a place is truly worth my time.

I go to Renu Medi Spa in Chevy Chase for facials. I use Pegg who is great! but so is everyone in the office. Pegg was away on vacation one time and the other facials person did not miss a beat– so you can’t go wrong. I get micro derma abrasion treatments. My skin glows– But know that micro derm treatments can go wrong if done by people who don’t know what they are doing. This is why the 5 star review. This is a very professional well run med spa. Worth every penny. The facial is done right and there is a lot of good information on follow up skin treatments (that work). Pegg is very very knowledgable and nice. How did I find this spa– It was Dr Philip Schoenfeld who I met in his medical office when I broke my nose. He is fun, cute, smart, compassionate. He told me about his spa and I tried it.

I had a very positive experience having a facial by Lauren and I plan to go back. She is knowledgable, friendly, and comforting. She gave several good recommendations for my sensitive skin as well as samples. She placed no pressure on me to buy. Instead she wanted me to feel good about switching products.

Dr. Schoenfeld is great! I saw him to correct a nasal fracture. Never waited very long to see the doctor, consultations were a great experience, and the staff was very helpful. Highly recommended

I have been going to Renu for (gulp) over 7 years for laser hair removal. I have gone through many technicians over the years, and a few different lasers. The first machine was awful, I would get burns on my body where the skin was thin. The new machine is better, but I’m not sure how effective. I’ve been seeing Jamie for a few years now, and she is awesome! She was in the medical field before joining Renu, so that definitely helps feeling comfortable in her hands. She is friendly, cheerful, and always remembers everything we talked about since my last session (which is usually a few months apart).
I had initially purchased the full-​body laser hair removal package (it was so long ago I don’t even remember the details). It came with something like 6 sessions. It hurt a LOT! I have a low pain threshold, so that could just be me. The 6 sessions definitely were not enough, so I’ve had to do follow ups for several years. The hair is definitely less in most areas, but just not less enough in some. The follow up sessions are $ 100 each. Overall, I have spent thousands on the hair removal, but I was desperate, so I guess it was worth it.

This review is LONG over due. 14 years to be exact. But as the saying goes, «better late than never». I own a full service entertainment company and we specialize in weddings so I know first hand the importance of impeccable customer service, and also appreciate it when our happy brides take a moment to write a review. Therefore I felt like it was my duty to share my experience of having a nose job done by Dr. Schoenfeld. To start with, he’s one of the most coolest Doctors you’ll come across. That’s important because when it comes to someone cutting your face up and making drastic alterations, you want to be absolutely certain that the person who’s doing it, is confident, experienced and you feel comfortable with them doing the procedure. With Dr. S. you had all the above, and a genuine care for your well being. The first time I met with Dr. S. it wasn’t even for a nose job. I went in there to get my tonsils checked out and he asked me if I wanted a nose job. I had always been hesitant but after showing me a computerized image of how he could make me look, I was seriously considering it. His «after picture» was very believable because he had done my mothers nose job a year earlier and no one could tell she had gotten one. Long story short, I did the nose job, and it was the best decision of my life. If you’re thinking about going under, don’t even consider anyone else. To this date, no one has been able to guess that I had a nose job. Thank you Dr. Schoenfeld!

I would highly recommend Dr. Schoenfeld and his team. The whole process, from initial consultation to procedure to after care was terrific. Dr. Schoenfeld was always on time and very easy to work with. He performed a tricky surgical procedure with great results. His assistant, Stephanie, was also great — always reachable and able to get answers to questions very quickly. All in all an excellent experience.

I went here for laser hair removal 3 years ago, and I’m still happy with the results. I chose this place after quite a lot of research because the technician was an RN with tons of experience. I had read online that you really want someone with experience to reduce the risk of complications, like scars. I went for 6 treatments — legs, bikini line and face. Legs didn’t hurt at all, bikini line was completely pain free with the numbing cream, and face was sensitive even with numbing cream. That has nothing to do with equipment and everything to do with nerve placement in the human body. Best advice: stop by before the first appointment to pick up the free numbing cream and put it on 30 minutes early. It helps. This place is not cheap (look at the zip code!) but very good.

I’ve had laser hair removal and Renu. They use the new Soprano XL machine which is pretty much pain free. The facility is super clean. Staff is super nice, on time and accommodating, and the tech is VERY knowledgable. She used the perfect setting which was super effective, but still comfortable.
I had 3 treatments total, the third one was more than 6 months a go and the results are still VERY noticable (60%+ reduction).

I really like this place and highly recommend it. So far, I’ve done laser hair removal (Soprano) and the Isopro acne laser. Jayme has been my technician and she is wonderful. She puts you at ease and that is important considering that lasers can be intimidating!
The Soprano laser is so much better than first generation lasers. It is not as scary or painful. You don’t need numbing cream beforehand. It still hurts, don’t get me wrong, but it’s nowhere near as bad as before and the down time is less. My skin was only pink for maybe 30 minutes afterwards.
The acne laser rocks — nothing to be afraid of. It sucks all of the gook out of your face and the laser kills bacteria so that those itchy, irritated spots disappear immediately. I got two mild bruises on my first go that could be dealt with using concealer, but the results were so tremendous that I am eager to get my second round. I still can’t say whether the treatments will help me in the long run, but the immediate results are great.
The prices here are reasonable too. I’d been avoiding these services for years because of fear of pain and just general post traumatic stress regarding my first laser experience (which cost an arm and a leg) about ten years ago, but this place made it all better for me!

My brother brought my mom and I each a massage through Living Social for Christmas. Extremely sweet and thoughtful.
He said that we had appointments in March! We were excited, thinking this is such an amazing place that everyone wants to go. Busy = Great. ??

They called me in March, a few days before our appointment, and asked us if we could reschedule. They pushed us back to April! I was laughing inside, thinking we’ll get to enjoy our Christmas gift in Springtime.
So I get there and yes, there is no parking, but that’s Chevy Chase for you. My mom was running a little late. So, I check in a few minutes early and ask if we can push her appointment back or even reschedule. The receptionist was extremely rude, quick to respond «no, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy and it’s all in the fine print of your deal.» (All in a demeaning tone.) Wow, ok! Her colleague was noticeably uncomfortable.
So I meet my masseuse and I was already turned off with the «welcome».
I go in and he uses the same moves, just going up and down my back. I did not leave craving a few more minutes on the table. Towards the end, he asked me what area he wanted me to work on. Huh? Isn’t that why you’re the expert. (Although you could argue that it was a nice touch.) I didn’t time it like other reviewers, but I would guess it was not a full hour.
So I leave the room and he tells my mom arrived. I waited for her. I meet her masseuse and he was extremely personable. My mom was late but he said «we were able to take care of her».
We went to check out and thank goodness the «welcome» was not there; her colleague was. Both my mom’s masseuse and that receptionist asked us what our plans were, gave us suggestions for dinner, just created a welcoming, inviting environment.
As of right now, I would not go back just because of the first receptionist. And if I did, I would request my mom’s masseuse.
I always heard of Renu on the radio and they do plenty of advertising. But it was definitely not what I expected. Its a great location, but odd it was in an office building.

I purchased two of the living social deals ($ 55 for a $ 110 each) during Xmas for a 60-​min massage session, thinking my friend and me could do it together. I called them to find out that there was one 1 massage therapist, he/​she was booked months ahead for anything after 5 PM. Hmmm they should perhaps specify that in the deal. It was a pain dealing with the receptionist trying to find an appointment then she said I had to give a credit card in case. Dude I already paid for this stupid deal!!! I embarassingly told my friend all that I had to go through and wished her good luck!
When I arrived at the building the parking was atrocious cars were parked haphazardly in this tiny parking lot, it looked like there was a massive disaster and everyone just abandoned their cars in the lot. I related this to the receptionist and asked her if they validated parking. Of course NOT! It cost $ 8 to park under 2 hours.
I arrived right on time at 3:45 PM and sat there to fill out some forms. Then I noticed there were multiple massage therapists working there. So interesting that I was lied to. My massage therapist, a male surfaced and took me to the room. They provided me with a menu upgrade for extra $ 25 so I asked for the hotstone, the therapist said they ran out of stones! HAHA. So I went with the aromatherapy instead. With all said and done it was probably over 4ish. I felt the massage was rushed and before I knew it the therapist said «It’s Over» I looked at my clock it was 4:45 PM. Whao! I thought it was 60-​min. ALL of the massages I had in the area start the clock at the massage not when you walk in, so you might as well walk in naked and tell them to get started immediately! Ridiculous.
Then I wanted to put the upgrade and tip on my card and the receptionist told me to write the therapist a cheque instead??? Seriously the biggest rip off massage I ever had in the DC-​metropolitan area.

I bought the groupon for 3 laser hair removal sessions. My whole experience was great. When I called for the first time, I was able to get an appointment within a week. I thought they would be booked solid since I called shortly after the groupon was available for use.
Their office hours are great, with evening/​Saturday appointments. I’ve been to a few other medspas, and this one was by far, the best. The waiting room has this calming feel to it and the whole place is clean and well presented. The staff is very nice, welcoming, and helpful.
As for the laser hair removal, I’ve experienced a couple types of machines from other places and I thought this one was the least painful and most effective. Jayme was my med tech for all my sessions. She’s awesome. She makes you feel very comfortable. She talks about all sorts of other things to get your mind off of the treatment, and by mid-​conversation, you’re already done! For two areas, I’m in and out in 15 minutes.
I highly recommend Renu Med Spa!

I snagged a deal with Renu last year for laser hair removal when I was in a kick of spending heaps of money I didn’t have on that even though my personal results were rather minimal (it takes me about 8 – 10 visits to get a 50% reduction). I knew three visits wouldn’t do too much, but I went ahead with it anyway. At the very least, I had the positive experience of three visits to Renu. Perhaps they have had some staff turn-​over since some of the other Unilocal reviews, because to me they were incredibly courteous, cheerful, not pushy, and very helpful every time I went there.
Renu focuses more on the «spa» side than the «med» side. They’ve created a serene environment rather than a clinical office, even down to the plush comfortable chairs you sit in when you get something done. I sincerely wish more doctor-​related offices were like this; perhaps I wouldn’t be such a problem patient if they were!
They also sell various goodies for your face and body there, including «Clear Your Head» herbal remedies for headaches and stress.

My hair must be made of indestructible roots. So far I have spent over 2 grands on zapping hairs on various parts of my body. I’ve been through it all in different salons/​medspas/​doctors/​etc.
The first generation lasers: HURTS LIKE HELL. Put EMLA cream on for an hour (glob after glob) and it still hurts like sh! t around ankles and underarms.
The Isolaz: This felt the best. It sucks the skin right up to the laser and other than very occasional whiff of burning hair, not unpleasant at all. Only one drawback. IT FREAKIN DOES NOT WORK!!!
The Soprano: The «new» technology that turned out to be from «old» technology. Similar to the first generation laser but treatment is done on smaller area at a time and gradual heat (that kills the roots) build up using several passing on same area. It’s «painfree.» LIARS!!!
This Medspa looks great. The technology seems to be on par with the latest. Then why the 2 stars?
THE PEOPLE HERE SUCKS! Their attitude sucks. Grant it, when I made the appointment with Michelle (someone new — to me) she was great! So nice and patient. She sadly informed me Angela was no longer with them. Well, I kinda liked Angela after a while. But this Peggy lady is so great you say? Ok, I will give her a try. BTW, Peggy was very good. It’s the front desk people that totally freakin ruined it for me.
No-​hellos. No-​can I get you something to drink. No-​have a great day. I mean, I did try to make some sort of conversation with them but null, zip, zero. Damn, am I BOTHERING you at work? I mean, if you didn’t want to work on Saturdays, you shouldn’t have applied to work here. If you are that miserable, you should’ve called out sick.
The nurse was rude and distant too. All the questions I asked was answered in monosyllabic words. I mean, common on now, you are about to put a machine on my body that zaps using LASERS!!! Isn’t it normal to be kinda freaking out about this? ESPECIALLY, if this is the first time for me with this machine? She regarded my fears and anxiety with annoyance. For that, I will never go back to her.
Only thing that is saving this place from One-​Star rating is the service provided by Peggy, who did my microderm and both Michelles (receptionist on the phone and Mrs. Dr. who allowed me to continue to receive underarm touch up for $ 100)
I did like my microderm with Peggy. She was knowledgeable and engaging. She explained every step of the process. I did learn that they use diamond disc rather than diamond powders b/​c powders can be very unpredictable in their results.
The machine has setting as low as 1 and high as 7. She used 5.1 on my forehead, nose and chin but used 1 around my cheekbones since the eye areas are more sensitive. Maybe those reviewers who didn’t feel much just had their setting too low? It seems Angela was conservative with her settings, I felt the difference between her and Peggy right away.
So b/​c of receptionists on Saturday and the nurse who I can’t remember the name to, this place should get 1 star. But two Michelles and Peggy adds 1.5 stars to total 2.5 stars. But b/​c I’m one of those «glass half empty» kinda person, I’m giving them 2 stars.
