Extraordinary hand finishing by our highly trained staff: Everything we care for will be hand spotted and hand pressed, hems will be rolled, lapels softly finished, and all garments and household treasures undergo three levels of extensive inspection before they are completed.

Environmentally safe and mild organic cleaning agents have been selected to more gently clean clothes.

In a word, we’re «fussy» about the way we treat our customer’s possessions. We even went as far as designing our own method to protect delicate and unique buttons.

Business Owner

Jon Simon has been a leading area entrepreneur for over 25 years, and currently operates 3 businesses. He has owned Parkway Custom Drycleaning for close to 12 years, and the Company has received numerous awards recognizing its industry excellence since Mr. Simon acquired the company. He holds a degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering, summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Mr. Simon is also an accomplished composer and jazz pianist, and has released 9 recordings under the Silver Lining Records label.

These guys are amazing at what they do. I took my wedding dress in as it had a stain on it that mysteriously appeared. I couldn’t remove it and someone tried to «help» and made it worse. I went in during my lunch break preparing to drop the dress off. I was prepared to pay a hefty fee but the importance of the dress outweighed costs concerns. They were able to remove the stain in about 5 minutes and did it gratis.

There is a reason why Parkway is known for being the best dry cleaner in the city. And that is why we tell all of our customers at Upstairs on 7th to take their clothes to them. They give the best personal service and they are excellent for repairs and for delicate fabrics or hard to clean stains. I take all of my cleaning there and just had a jersey dress shortened. We also got some ink on a couch cushion and they did a great job getting it out. Perfect as always!

I just called to inquire about possible treatments to prevent stains on my new white wool coat. I was put on hold while the receptionist asked a technician. When she picked up the line, she said they did not do any treatments. I asked if the technicians had any recommendations of what I could do for a possible treatment and she said no. I then pressed her and she said she had in fact not asked the technicians about other possible options. I then asked about scotchguard and she flippantly said I could do that but gave no professional opinion, which is the exact reason I called such a highly rated establishment. As I was thanking the receptionist, she hung up on me — clearly I was intruding on her busy day. very rude and unprofessional customer service.

The worst experience I’ve every had at a dry cleaner. I have a regular dry cleaner, but came to Parkway at the recommendation of a friend to remove a difficult stain. Long story short, Parkway put several holes in my very expensive blouse (about $ 150), which I only wore once prior to bringing it to Parkway for cleaning. After having to spend multiple weeks explaining the situation to Parkway staff, I was refunded a minimal amount ($ 20) after being accused of causing the damage myself. I cannot replace the blouse with this refund. I WILL NOT return to this business. Horrible service and experience.

I was traveling on business and needed to get a some of my custom clothes cleaned. Since I usually dress casually, I only have a limited number of nice pieces. I didn’t want to risk sending them to any cleaner so I brought them to Parkway based on the number of reviews on Unilocal which I’ve used for food but never for cleaning. Since I’ve usually experienced «you get what you pay for,» I wasn’t put off by the reviews claiming they’re expensive. In fact, that helped my decision in bringing my few nice pieces to Parkway. There’s something to be said for peace of mind and when it comes to many dry cleaners, there’s just cause for angst. Pay the price if you want your things done right.

What an outstanding business! I had a horrible situation with hair gel having spilled all over a brand-​new dress in my suitcase. Took it to one dry cleaner and it actually looked worse– told me they tried and could not get it out. I then went to Parkway and it came back literally looking like new. Not a speck of stain remained. To top it off, they delivered to my house, no charge. I wish all businesses were so customer-​friendly and professional.

Superb cleaning and pressing, with excellent delivery/​presentation of cleaned garment as I picked-​up a rush job ready at the expected time, including a closet-​ready suit hanger!
These days, first-​rate service most often comes at a premium, but in my experience cleaning a blazer and later a suit with Parkway, shelling-​out the premium yields top-​shelf service.

Was nervous to try based on some negative reviews, but was impressed by the quality of their work and the convenience of their free pick-​up and drop-​off service. I was hoping to salvage a pair of beloved white polyester blend pants that had become stained. They quoted me $ 25, which seemed ridiculous, but I was desperate enough to say yes. They tried everything (including a «stripper bath») but couldn’t save them, and to my surprise they DIDN’T CHARGE ME ANYTHING for the attempted cleaning. Was very happy about that! I later remembered I still had the same pants in a smaller size (from my thinner days), and asked it if would be possible to expand the smaller, un-​stained pair to fit like the ruined pair. After some back and forth, they agreed to try. It cost $ 35 for the alteration, and they fit PERFECTLY! I didn’t even need to go in for a fitting — just had them pick up and deliver both pairs, and their seamstress worked wonders. Very impressed by the quality of the work! That said, I wouldn’t dream of taking basic hem jobs here, as it’s just too pricey (hence only 4 stars). BUT, if you have a tricky stain on a beloved piece or an heirloom that needs repairing, I highly recommend Parkway Custom Drycleaning.

The store where I bought my bridal gown on a sample sale and the highly rated tailor who is fitting it to me both very highly recommended Parkway. I was a bit surprised by the cost of cleaning a wedding dress, but it seems worthwhile to have it done properly given what it would cost to replace it. I found the staff to be incredibly responsive and on top of things. They also did what they could to bring the price down a bit, which I really appreciated. I am now awaiting the final result of the cleaning. In general, I have so far found them very nice, easy to deal with, responsive, and professional.

Buyer beware or be soaked!
We have had a shocking experience this week with Parkway Cleaners in Chevy Chase. This upscale cleaners is known for removal of stains on clothing and expensive prices. They do good work, but in my situation, I was totally unprepared for the outcome. I brought in two gowns and a table cloth for stain removal and cleaning. I was handed a receipt with $ 122 which I interpreted as a total. Expensive, but not unexpected. Well, it turn out that was the price for one piece. No one warned me that the bill was actually $ 400. I suppose I could have reviewed the fine print and looked over all the receipts, but I trusted these folks and expected great work at a fair price. Perhaps the rich would not object, but I would not have left the clothes with them had I realized the $ 400 price. They were not able to even remove the stains. In the past, if the work was not successful, I would receive no charge and I would have gladly accepted a reduced rate in this case.
The manager politely told me there was little they would do and directed me to read the fine print. The only recourse was that they would redo the cleaning with the warning that additional effort could ruin the gowns. I was offered a $ 50 credit for my next visit, which will likely not be any time soon. If you have so much money you don’t care about a $ 400 cleaning bill, this is the place for you… (the manager told me $ 400 for 3 pieces was nothing out of the ordinary at this cleaners, so I guess that makes me a peasant.)

My boss had 4 tailored shirts done here and was charged for a women’s blouse because it was not clarified that they were men’s. I spoke to John, the owner, who immediately apologized and explained everything to me and gave my boss a refund for the difference. He then followed up with a detailed email to my boss. It was truly appreciated and the customer service was excellent. Thank you very much for taking care of everything and making it so easy!

A month ago I brought in a 70 – 80 year old hand crocheted, off-​white cotton bedspread to be cleaned. It had been in an attic for over 30 years where it had developed horrible brown and yellow stains of all sizes all over the front and back. I was told it would be hand washed and treated repeatedly and so it needed to be left for about two weeks to ensure adequate time to work on it. I was told there was no guarantee all the stains would be removed, but I felt it was well worth the cost of approximately $ 60 to see if it could be saved.
I retrieved the bedspread last week and could not believe how absolutely gorgeous it looked. Despite a warning note on the hanger that said all the stains could not be removed, I found that 99.9% of the stains were gone, with the few minute stubborn spots that remained being very hard to find. My aunt’s fine workmanship is now proudly displayed on my bed. I have the diligent employees of Parkway Custom Drycleaning to thank for giving this treasure a second life! Thank you! Gracias! Danke! I am thrilled with my experience at Parkway! I fell in love with my expensive wedding dress and I wanted to have it cleaned and preserved, but was not sure who I could trust to clean and care for it. I asked around and everyone said that I should go to Parkway. I received kind customer service and they assured me that my dress would be well taken care of, even with the lace and beadwork details. They completed the service quickly and offered to deliver it to my house! It was expensive, but worth every penny. I paid a lot for my wedding dress and it remains a valuable investment, thanks to Parkway!

Totally not worth it. Promised the dress back in 6 weeks. We called after 9 weeks and it still wasn’t ready. They charged 2 – 3 more than their competition for «service, delivery, and excellence» but refused to deliver a wedding dress 3 miles away despite delivering to NoVa. Employees are not emancipated to make decisions to retain customers and their owner/​manager is only there once a week. What a racket. Avoid at all costs!

This place is pricy. BUT, this was the only place that I could trust getting my Burberry coat dry cleaned at. They said they do everything by hand, and they are very careful. That’s why it costs so much. Let’s just say I could have bought a coat on sale at Macy’s or at Loehmann’s for the price I paid to clean this one coat! At the same time, if I took the chance and brought my coat to my local shop, there could have been a chance that it would get damaged, the water resistant coating would be ruined, or they could have lost my coat. So I was ok with paying the premium price for the peace of mind that I would see my coat again in tip top condition!
