Lumix CPAs and Advisors was founded in 1992 as MT Pinero, P.C. primarily offering auditing services to not-​for-​profit clients. However, we soon realized that we preferred to take on a more proactive approach to help businesses implement efficient processes that would assist their growth and work with clients as advisors before, during and after the audit. For those reasons, we switched our focus to client accounting services, financial statement preparation, taxes, and CFO advisory services.

Meet the Business Owner

Maribel T.

Business Owner

Since 1992, Maribel Torres-​Pinero has been serving the tax and accounting needs of individuals, businesses and not-​for-​profits in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Maribel graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and has been a CPA since 1990. Prior to starting MT Pinero, PC in 1992, she worked for Arthur Andersen’s tax division and as an auditor for the U.S. General Accountability Office.

Maribel has been recognized for her public service by the Small Business Administration (Accountant Advocate of the year in 1999), by the Montgomery County Government and by the numerous not-​for-​profit organization where she has participated as a Board Member (as Treasurer, Vice President and President). She is also a graduate of the 2002 Leadership Montgomery program. Her recent focus has been growing and strengthening MT Pinero PC and devoting time to her family.
