James R. Bruno, MD, FACS is recognized by his patients for his kind bedside manner, surgical skill, and artistic eye in cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. Additionally, he specializes in laser-​assisted liposuction, reconstructive procedures, and orthognathic (jaw) surgery. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Plastic Surgeons by the Consumers Research Council of America and was voted by his peers as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s «Top Doctors» in breast reconstructive plastic surgery.

Dr. Bruno received his undergraduate degree from Wilkes College, graduating cum laude. He attended and received his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Bruno went on to receive his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania and later was awarded his certificate of training in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the same institution. This was followed with a two-​year plastic surgery fellowship training at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Bruno is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. With a commitment to continually educating himself and honing his skill, Dr. Bruno holds membership to a variety of plastic and cosmetic surgery academies and societies. Dr. Bruno actively serves as Off-​Site Residency Program Director at Sibley Memorial Hospital for the Georgetown University Hospital Plastic Surgery Residency program.
