This is pretty good Indian food and honesty better than Rasika at a cheaper price. I have been here multiple times and absolutely love it. It’s a higher end classy restaurant and the only problem is that it is a bit on the expensive side however I think the food is very good. Not the best Indian restaurant in the area but better than the vast majority. I always get the chicken tikka masala or chicken korma. The bread is great. I would recommend getting a mango lassi here because it’s really good. There is a great lunch buffet that they do I think during the week. Lots of big celebrities and presidents of other countries have eaten here.

Delicious Indian food! Would happily go here again if I am in the area. Good amount of food for the price– I had the vegetarian plate which had an assortment of different curries and dishes. Yum!

This restaurant is so interesting in its location and clientele, as well as its layout. As the pictures show, the waiting area is generous and comfortable. The dining room is split into 3 parts– main, bar and fountain. In nice weather, there is ample outdoor seating. It is right above the Metro inside of a huge for this area’s standards building. The people who come here tend to reflect the business community at lunch and the palates of refined suburbia. The staff vary from those in the know to those who need to ask left and right about food items. So, I can see why some folks have bad first experiences here. My most recent meal was so so, but the staff helping were top notch for the restaurant. Most times, the food is much better than the service. Still, I understand why people complain about the price. The portions do feel small, but the plate comes with a full serving of white rice, a small collection of salad like garnish(some days are better than others) and some vegan yellow dal that is always delicious. Although it is not on the menu, if you really like it, you can order it as a dish. I have done that before! The dal malkhani is also good, but black lentils could freak you out if you’re wary of food like that? Be mindful that if you have gluten allergies to simply ask– don’t be shy! They have for vegans, a separate menu. However, it includes items on the main menu just clarification, really. Of all the dishes, the vegetable jhalfrezi if done right is my favorite with chunks of fresh cauliflower, carrots and broccoli with spicy tomato based sauce heightened in flavor with smoky-charred onion slices. Although I don’t particularly like okra, theirs is done well and is not soggy or gooey like glue. The alu chole chickpea dish is good for its simplicity, but nothing uniques. Like others have mentioned yes, the hyderabani baingan eggplant dish with creamy nut, peanut and sesame sauce is delicious/the sauce is my fav over rice! Oh yeah, everyone loves the vegetable(vegan) samosa– it is a single large samosa cut and garnished. Some days are better than others, and the recent one reminded me that others have been better. The mini dosas are fun to get, too, as they come with chutneys– tamarind, coconut and a cilantro one. Vegan friendly temptation making me wish for a full size dosa! Yum, though, and convenient to just whet the appetite with a bit of lentil crêpe rolled around some potato based filling. If you prefer gluten, opt for some vegan whole wheat roti to help with your sauce consumption. Plenty of choices here for dinner and lunch– even the buffet has some vegan and veg choices, but ask for sure!

PLEASESAVEYOURMONEYANDYOURSTOMACH !!! We ordered paneer makhani and after coming home we had to take medicine since our stomach got upset… Worse customer service ever. They even charged gratuity without asking me… and later on when i found out they O sorry we can take it out if you want… how absurd is that. I have never gone to a restaurant which charges gratuity with the bill… I WILLNEVEREVERGOTHERE !!!

I came here for a Mothers Day brunch and although they handled my large group decently, I still left disappointed. When this place first opened, it was top notch. Good décor, cocktails(the Bloody Mary and tamarind margaritas were favorites) and good food. As the restaurant has aged, it hasn’t done so very gracefully. On Sunday the service was so slow and haphazard. The brunch presentation was so so(the bar they served it in was dark and cramped), and the vegetarian entrée items were few in quantity. It was very surprising to come to and Indian restaurant of all places and want more vegetarian options! Our waitress barely came to check up on us and took forever to bring drinks and water. As Indique Heights is on the formal end of restaurants, you just expect it to be better and more attentive. Since it’s in such a convenient location and spacious inside it’s been a perennial favorite with the family but I’m not sure for how much longer that will last.

The location and ambience are top notch and the staff is first rate. I have been to this place at least 3 – 4 times in a year and have food food to be good. Dosas come a little slow and taste okay. This place is pure north indian and hence ehen they try south indian food, it does not come that well. Options are less on buffet but taste is good. Not the greatest but defintely good. The chef/owner seems popular in the region too and has puctures of catering to senators and white house!

Went here for lunch today with the wife. Had a Groupon to use so didn’t try the buffet. Started out with samosa chaat which was pretty good. Kind of dropped off from there. Malai kabobs weren’t that good. Really dry. They serve it was rice and daal, so that is mostly what I had. Wife had palak paneer which she didn’t like either. Service was friendly. Prices were a little high. Overall, wouldn’t come back.

Food — 3.5 stars(I’ll go again just for the food, maybe carry out next time) Service — 0.5 star(poorly trained staff, inexperienced and not friendly) Ambiance — on the quiet side, though they do have a fully stocked bar(mostly middle-aged and families) Their samosa is very large and open-faced — it’s pretty and so delicious that I could have had two for my entire meal. I’ve only had the wrapped/fried version, so this was a nice surprise. The meat platter is a good mix of different spices and included chicken, beef, a few veggie-based and even one sweet dessert sauce(I think condensed milk-based). I enjoyed every bite of my meal, even the spicy pickled condiment. The wine selection is not the best, but it’s varied enough — def worth just getting one of the nicer bottles that they don’t sell by the glass. The service, on the other hand, was subpar. The dining room is a bit stuffy/full of families with kids, so we opted to sit at the bar, which apparently no one does because they basically forgot about us for the rest of the night. Initially, the main bartender was fine, but the rest of the servers were rude. We ordered one of the higher end bottles of wine right off the bat and he gave us a few tastings to help us make our decision. He refilled only my glass once, then for the rest of the meal, we had to refill our own wine. Despite that the staff was constantly hanging around the bar, it was difficult to get anyone’s attention. When we asked to wrap up the rest of our meal(more than half of my entrée remained), one of the servers brought containers and a plain white plastic bag(the garbage bag variety, despite that they had nicer ones that displayed the logo) so that we could pack up the food ourselves. I’d assumed they’d also pack up our wine since we’d only drunk half of it, but they did not do so until I asked. Despite the service that left us feeling a bit neglected, we left a fairly hefty tip because we enjoyed the food. A few servers standing nearby clearly saw us leaving, but didn’t say anything. no goodbye, no «have a good night,» nothing. Rude.

I first visited Indique Heights in their Cleveland park location and loved their food, however when I moved to friendship heights area decided to give them a try again after a long day of moving and this is supreme! the food is amazing but the facilities and service are so wonderful you don’t feel like leaving the place; staff is courteous and prices are very reasonable. My favorite restaurant in the chevy chase area!

A slightly higher end Indian restaurant with a pleasant décor, but standard fare. Having lived in India for a good portion of my life, I know what good authentic Indian food is and while I wasn’t exactly expecting to get that here, I was somewhat disappointed to learn that this is just another restaurant serving Indian food tailored to the American palette. It was evident that the ingredients used in the dishes were straight up store bought and was missing the spark that comes when you cook from scratch. I came here for dinner and the following cost us $ 71 + tip. I did have a $ 44⁄80 groupon which made me feel better about it, but this review is not biased by the ~45% discount. I would have given it 3 stars as I would to any run of the mill Indian restaurant, but the prices force me to deduct another star. Tilapia(small plate): I highly recommend this as an appetizer or even an accompaniment to your meal. 2 good sized tilapia fillets, well seasoned and a good deal for ~$ 9 Lamb Chop(small place): While it was pretty good, for $ 9 you get just a single small piece of lamb chop, 2 small bites and it was over. Paneer Makhani: Pretty standard in the usual sauce. The paneer pieces were somewhat tough(store bought, not made in-restaurant). $ 14. Lamb Roganjosh: Not even close to what real roganjosh is. Cubes of lamb were tough and the gravy tasted like those store bought microwaveable pouches. $ 17. Breads: Tried the pudina paratha which was good, the garlic naan on the other hand could use less garlic and/or smaller pieces of garlic on it. Drinks: This is one place where this restaurant redeems itself. Interesting cocktails with a kick. Tried the Mangotini & Jaggery Martini, and both are worth a try.

We have been here to this place a few times, and we have grown progressively disappointed with every visit. The décor is great, the food is mediocre and it starts to taste even worse when you consider the price. Most of the strip mall indian restaurants do not have distinct flavors in their main entrees(because it is cheaper to use the same sauce in different dishes), and it is the same experience in Indique Heights which is not what you would expect. Every restaurant has a signature dish which keeps pulling you back in, but cannot think of any for this place. Give this one a pass, there is a much cheaper and better place a few blocks south on Wisconsin, or go down to Passage to India in Bethesda. This one is not worth a try.

Great service for sure & the food was just what I was expecting. Superb !! I was very impressed with the lamb shank, it was great & flavorful, it is a MUST Order! The butter chicken was great as well. I had 2 Mangotinis that were awesome, I give two thumbs up. They unfortunately charged me for the thin bread that was like a cracker? It was good but I guess nowadays everyone is charging for everything :/that was kind of a disappointment but overall I will be back whenever I have a craving for Indian food:)

This place has GREAT food!!! I come here a few times a month with friends for the lunch buffet. They always have a great selection and the food is fantastic. I came here for happy hour & dinner with some friends the other night for the first time; we got 3 or 4 appetizers(all good), the samosa was really good. The beer that we had was from India and paired very well with the spicy curry dishes we had for dinner. I know that I’ll keep coming to this place as the food, service and ambience are all great.

The service here is truly exceptional. From the moment I walked in, the hostess, servers, and the manager were nothing but gracious. I’ve been to top-end dining destinations in DC, and the local dives where everyone knows your name, and the service here is more personal and more friendly than either. The waitress walked by the table numerous times to check if we needed anything at all(sauces, spices, a drink). The food was also spot-on. I had the mango lassi and vegetarian dish. The mango lassi tasted exactly like(the better ones!) that I’ve had in India! The desserts are also well-done, not just the lazy«just add more sugar» that I sometimes see in US Indian restaurants. The atmosphere is superb(I like the fun swinging bench near the hostess stand to play, err, relax on as you wait). I would recommend this place for a date, or a business meeting where timing and excellent service will be appreciated.

**DC Food Bloggers Happy Hour — 07/10/2013** I don’t know the name of ANY food I ate, but they were all good… and vegitarian-friendly. Lots of chickpeas, rice noodles and full-flavored sauces. Nothing was too spicy, which is always a plus for me. The heat IS there, but it doesn’t overpower the meal. My resident«heat-seeker» appreciates this. My delicious drink(KAMASUTRA: apricot brandy, vodka, pineapple juice), was really good. Reminds me of a Mai Tai. Good for those who like the fruity/girlie drinks. The HOTPASSION(jalepenos) was good, too… just spicy as hell. The daily Happy Hour(4pm-7pm) menu has lots of good options. All of which I wish I remembered the name of :-\ The décor was really nice. Good for a date night or special occassion. Outdoor seating is also available. This place is VERY metro accessible, as it’s adjacent to Friendship Heights Metro Station.

As a vegetarian, I was initially impressed by the vegan and vegetarian selections. My excitement ended after I took my first bite. I ordered a potato pancake with marinated chickpeas and was disappointed. The dish had no flavor or texture and appeared to have been microwaved. I enjoy spicy food, but my entrée was overwhelmingly spicy to the point all other flavors were masked. The naan was cold. The server was inattentive as we constantly had to ask for water glasses to be refilled. My fiancé ordered a glass of wine based on its price, but when the bill came discovered it was another price. He told the server, who could have handled the situation with more tact. I have had much better and better priced Indian food in the DC area.

OK. nice outdoor patio for dining but the food itself was just OK(The yellow and black dals were good). The service was amateur hour. Our server barely came by to check on us. The CP location is way better.

4.5 stars!!! I really liked this place. The décor was nice, the staff all very helpful and friendly. App: Chicken Dosa — Like a big crêpe filled with minced chicken and spices. 5 different chutneys for dipping. This was really nice. Entrée: Chicken Chettan?(it was the specialty, black pepper based) This was awesome!!! Not super spicy, but a great black pepper flavor and two kinds of rice. It looked small but the portion size was deceiving and I was quite full afterwards. The lamb Roganjosh was really good also, but I had hoped it would be spicier or have a bolder flavor. Still a very nice choice. Parking is only $ 3 and in Chevy Chase that’s a bargain. I will be back for sure!!!

Indique heights is one of few indian restaurants where you can impress someone with food, ambiance and drinks. Indique does very well on their presentation of each dish. From street snack to entrée, everything looks so pretty. It makes you get excited about having a bite. Papri chaat: street snack was very good. It was our server’s choice too. Mini dosa was very cute but it was just OK. I wasn’t impressed by kathi roll. but it was pretty spicy. Curry dish was flavorful and good. * Indique has VERY good Naan. This is the BEST I’ve had in DC area. Soft and fluffy. Try it. Good service. Parking is a bit pain and it’s $ 3 with validation.
