Shreve Crump & Low

I went to Shreve’s with the intention of making a purchase and I really liked one item but it is really hard to focus when you are being shadowed by the bully store security guard. I was about to purchase a $ 20,000 piece when the security bully slammed and locked the door on the back of the case next to the one where my sales consultant was working. When he gave me the body language that said «I think you are up to something bad», I realized that he had watched The Matrix one too many times so I gave him some body language that said «you just blew a sale, buddy» and I walked out of the store without explaining anything to the sales consultant. In reality, he did me a favor because Tiffany’s had much better product and they bent over backward for me so I was happy to give them a big check. They prefer personal checks so that they don’t have to pay the credit card fee and I’m ok with that.
I’m not insecure and I don’t have an ego but I am intelligent enough to know when I am wasting my time. Don’t waste your time dealing with bully security guards either. Go somewhere else!

Misleading about the quality of their product. If you want to learn about jewelry and make am informed purchase this is not the place to shop.

What a great experience! I worked with Christina for the engagement ring, then proper sizing of it. We then went back for the wedding bands. This is always hard, due to some great options, but Christina helped guide us and find the right rings for both of us. We have gone back to make sure the rings are six d perfectly, and to ensure the diamonds are still sparkling. Thank you to the team for working with us throughout this process.

I had a fantastic experience buying my engagement ring at Shreve, Crumb & Low. They have a large collection of options and I ended up choosing a beautiful antique ring which was purchased at an estate sale.
The staff is incredibly helpful and professional. Whenever my wife swings by they buff up the ring for free to make it even shinier.

If you want to just window shop go to Shreve, gauranteed you will either leave with a beautiful piece of jewelry and the opportunity to meet the most beautiful soul you ever could meet Elish!

Beware —
Every step of my major purchase with them was fraught with either dishonesty (clearly stating that there would be a price deduction at purchase time, which two people heard them say, then denying it at point of purchase) or incompetence (put a new stone in a ring, assured me it was perfect — but within a few months the stone fell out on the street! The ring had to be rebuilt for the new stone, it could NOT just be put in the old place).
And customer service was offensive, denying their payment statements or hinting that I had knocked the stone out of the ring. Had to call the Boston store to find a responsible and decent staff person, and even there only found one.
I grew up in Boston and Shreve always had a halo for me… now I sadly feel «taken» and cheated. And I have lost a cherished childhood memory!

Having had a nice experience at the Back Bay store a few years back when I sold some items, I called Chestnut Hill (because it was frightfully hot and I just wanted to be able to sit in my car in the air conditioning); Mistake number 1. I spoke to Eric and said I would like to come in and when he asked what time I would be there, I said between 12 – 12:15. He knew I was coming.
Arrived at 12:17, and he was gone. Yes, I was 2 minutes late, but he knew I was coming. OK. The very nice ladies at the shop — and yes, the LADIES at the shop are nice, so I wish I could review them separately — suggested I come back at 1:00. OK, so he left at 12:00? Like an idiot, I actually waited in the new Chestnut Hill Square (in the same heat that I was trying to avoid) by wandering through Wegman’s.
Returned at 1:00 to be pretty rudely greeted by him, no apology for his not being there and he had no interest in the ring or diamond bracelets. Fine. Whatever. He actually did me a favor as I wound up at Anderson’s Jeweler’s in Wellesley (see my review) where I received a fair price).
But I could have done without wasting my time in 90 degree heat and humidity.
He did, however, seem verrrrrrrrrry interested in the guy who came in as I was leaving to BUY a ring for his girlfriend; I’m sure that guy got Eric’s undivided attention.

Had a great experience here. Was shopping for an engagement ring and honestly didn’t know much about the process or what I exactly wanted. Eric showed me everything I needed to know. He spent a lot of time with me on multiple visits showing me exactly what the differences were between diamonds and how they would look on different settings. We ended up designing a custom setting which my fiancé loves. I never got a sense of rudeness when I was there at all. I would definitely recommend anyone I know to go there.

I spent quite a bit of money on a few nice pieces of jeweleries when it was the David and Co. Soon after purchasing my jeweleries, I had to bring them in for a repair. David the owner was not happy to see the pieces returned for repair and extremely unprofessional to make rude comments. Basically he was too busy to take care of my brand new pieces I purchased that required repair and told me to come back when it’s not busy. I would have to agree with Steve S who had a similar experience as I did. I have not returned to them for more business since my horrible experience and also made sure all my friends knew about how rude and arrogant their attitude was.

Rude. Snooty. Snotty.
I have the $$ to spend and can shop wherever I want. There’s no reason for them to be so cavalier in their attitude and behavior towards potential customers. I will NEVER NEVER set foot in this place again and I will encourage everyone I know not to patronize this store either. They should be ashamed of themselves.

After doing my homework and looking around at a number of local, out-​of-​state, and internet vendors, I went to D&C looking for an engagement ring. From the very start the D&C team was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Even after a handful of changes, Sarah and the team continued to go over and above the call of duty, and helped me to design the perfect ring. My fiancée is ABSOLUTELY in love with it, and I couldn’t have asked for things to go any more smoothly.
