Description

Specialties

Located in Brookline’s Chestnut Hill, our preschool, the Pine Manor College Child Study Center, offers wonderful opportunities and enrichment for children from the age of two years nine months up to Kindergarten age.

Because we are located on the college campus, we have extraordinary resources available to us. On a regular basis we:

* take walks to the duck pond,

* enjoy a wonderful playground right outside the preschool,

* use the gym on rainy or unusually cold days,

* have the Puddle Stompers visit to help us explore nature,

* explore different aspects of ourselves through singing, yoga and dancing,

* and much more!

As a result of our convenient location right off Route 9, we have had families join our preschool/daycare from Brookline, Newton, Wellesley, Needham, J.P. and all throughout the Greater Boston Area.

We’d love to hear from you with any questions!

History

Established in 1974.

Located on the Pine Manor College campus, our quality preschool program serves as a model for student teachers. The student teachers have opportunities to learn from experienced early childhood professionals who directly supervise them at all times. The Pine Manor College Child Study Center was re-named in 1998 in honor of one of its Pine Manor College alumnae, Ann Pappajohn Vassiliou. Ann is the daughter of John and Mary Pappajohn who made a generous contribution to the Investing in Minds capital campaign. The Child Study Center is part of Pine Manor College and is a non-profit educational facility that does not discriminate on providing services to children and families on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, cultural heritage, political beliefs, marital status, disability or national origin. The center supports an anti-bias curriculum that encourages children to respect each other’s individual differences and welcomes diversity.

Meet the Manager

Lynne L.

Manager

With over 20 years experience as the Director of Early Childhood Education programs, my leadership skills are well developed. Recruitment, hiring and supervision of staff, evaluation of teachers and students, program assessment, and financial management are all integral pieces to my position. Upholding all licensing regulations and NAEYC standards is routine, marketing is a necessity, and working with children and families is the core to the mission of my program.

I enjoy the fast pace of a preschool classroom and participating in the education process of young learners. While overseeing young budding teachers or supervising experienced ones, the passion is still about educating young minds and providing a quality experience in the classroom.
