After moving to the South Shore, I decided to keep my medical care here as I liked my doctor quite a bit. However, scheduling here is a mess and my doc has changed 3 times over the last few years – buyer beware. My most recent doc left over the summer of 2014. I wasn’t due for a physical until the fall. I tried to schedule an urgent care appointment due to some acute issues I was having in October 2014 and was told I needed to see my new primary doc first for a «new patient» visit before I could be seen in urgent care. The first available visit with her was April 2015(6 months later). Ok, I get it, docs are busy. I went to an urgent care clinic in my area in the meantime and waited until April to meet my new doctor. Less than 24 hours before my April appointment they call to inform me that the doctor wouldn’t be coming in in the morning and could I reschedule to 4pm that same day. I couldn’t-I already moved my schedule around to accommodate a morning appointment and gave them times that I could be available over the next two weeks. I was basically told that they didn’t have a time that worked for my schedule and the first available was over 2 weeks away and that the doc was taking a lot of time of during May and June(so I should jump at the chance to wait 2 more weeks and screw up my schedule?). To be honest, I wouldn’t care if I hadn’t already been waiting for 6 months, and I hadn’t been told that my acute/urgent issues needed to wait for that long. I called Harvard Vanguard and got an appointment in two days… If your schedule is flexible and you don’t mind your doc changing often, go for it, if not… proceed with caution.

I have had it with this place. This could be one of those review that goes on and on, but I going to my best to be brief and direct. I have been through three doctors in 6 years because everyone leaves the practice. It took me a nearly a year to get an appointment for an annual physical. They kept telling me my Doctor wasn’t making appointments and I had to call back. And, btw, I couldn’t see any other Doctor because they weren’t accepting new patients. Today went I went for my physical I needed to make a follow up appointment for November. You’ll never guess. My Doctor isn’t taking appointments that far out. With the exception of Dr #2(who I thought was GREAT!) the Doctors here have no empathy or patient relationship skills. And given my above experience here, I’m going to guess that’s not their fault, it is over-scheduling. So save yourself the trouble and hassle and go someplace else. This is not the place for patient care or long term doctor-patient relationships.
