Specialties
At Dimensions School of Social Dance, we make dancing and learning to dance simple, easy, and fun. Through a combination of private dancing lessons, group classes, and practice dancing parties, you can become comfortable in any social dancing situation on virtually any dance floor.
social dancing
We teach a large variety of social dances: swing, waltz, tango, salsa, hustle, foxtrot, merengue, cha cha, rumba, and more! But more important than just teaching you a specific dance, we teach you how to dance, so no matter where you are, you can enjoy dancing and feel relaxed and confident! We work with you to create a personalized dance program that fits your dancing needs and interests and will make you the dancer you want to be. No two students are the same, and we make sure that the dances you learn (and the way we teach them to you) are the right fit for you.
History
Established in 2010.
Originally opened as Duneland Ballroom in 2010, renamed and relocated as Dimensions School of Social Dance in 2014, we have been providing quality dance education in the northwest Indiana region for anyone interested in getting out and trying something different. Owner Danielle Karczewski has been honored as a top teacher in several national dance competitions through the years, and takes pride in offering a comfortable, fun environment for new and experienced dancers to learn. Dimensions has also partnered with several community organizations to help raise funds for worthy causes through dancing, including the Duneland, LaPorte County, and Valparaiso YMCA’s; the Hobart Tri Kappa sorority; the Lake Area United Way; and the American Cancer Society.
Meet the Business Owner
Danielle K.
Business Owner
Danielle’s career as a ballroom dance instructor started back in 2009. She was a recent graduate of the University of Iowa with degrees in Theater Arts and English, but when ballroom dancing came into her life, she was hooked! She opened her own school in 2010, and has since go on to teach both social and competitive dancers, perform regionally and nationally, and compete with her students in several national NDCA competitions. She has been honored as a Top Teacher at several of those events, and her students have received multiple Top Student honors as well. Dancing transformed her life when she discovered it: she lost 50 lbs. and experienced a new kind of confidence on and off the dance floor. She has a passion to help people see that anyone and everyone can learn to dance and get a new lease on life.
