Solid Greek food. The lamb chops are very reasonably priced and are usually well prepared. The meze is also a great appetizer. Sometimes the food can be inconsistent on certain nights. The servers are very well trained.

The service is exceptional. Food is very good, which is what you’d expect from the price. Ambience was nice as well. They had live music on Saturday night that was a decent touch.

Spiros is the best Greek restaurant in St Louis hands down. What a beautiful and classy establishment. This is what a Greek restaurant should be like always. The restaurant reminds me of the same types of places you’d find in Greektown in Chicago at places like Costa’s or Rodity’s. This is a very nice place to take a date. My girlfriend and I were blown away by our experience here. The presentation and service was excellent. Spiros, the owner, gave us free shots of Ouzo when he found out I was Greek. We had a great conversation in the old language and he took care of us out of genuine respect. The place has more of a fine dining feel but at a reasonable price. I got the pasticcio and Moussaka which I always do at every Greek place and their versions were the best by far from any others I’ve visited. Spiro’s is very elegant and we left very very happy. Euxaristoume para polu Spiros!

High end Greek food. Fancy venue. Went on a Tues night and it was dead. Started off with a appetizer which had shrimp, pita, toasted ravioli, and roasted mozzarella. I had the rack of lamb which was fantastic. Prices are higher end $ 12 — $ 30

We arrived not long after they opened and were seated right away. The water was never low and the bread was delicious. The calamari tasted like buffalo chicken but was still good. I had the pasticho(sp?) which was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. My friend had a gyro which was good. The food was all great but toward the end our server got really snappy. Not sure why seeing as by the time we left there was only one other table. The food and experience was good overall. I will definitely go back.

We split the 22 oz. Prime Rib dinner and the waiter put them on separate plates and even added a second stuffed potato and vegetables. An acoustic guitar and piano duo serenaded the bar area as we sat in a table by the fireplace. The prime rib was tender, juicy and served hot. The water glasses never ran dry. Service was timely, and friendly. The Baklava was an excellent ending to the meal. I would highly recommend Spiro’s

Visited Spiro’s multiple times since my initial review. If you do not sit at the bar, service is terrible and food comes out cold. Experienced inexcusable rudeness by an employee. Manager did not handle complaints effectively and it was so awkward that we will not be back.

I have been using Unilocal a lot, but just signed up to a leave a review for this restaurant. I come from Greece and there are not many authentic Greek restaurants in the area. Spiro’s not only has genuine Greek dishes, but they are all delicious! We come here quite a bit with my wife and we enjoy all the appetizers, excellent saganaki, perfect lamb chops and mouth watering grilled swordfish. The authentic Greek dishes of pastitsio, mousaka, ntolmades, tzaziki and their excellent salad dressing are always prepared to perfection and remind me of home. The staff is excellent. We always ask for George to serve us and Tim(the manager) is usually there to keep us great company. They also have a wonderful olive oil that makes the perfect dip for their warm bread. Great atmosphere, you won’t regret it!

I stopped in for lunch the other day and enjoyed the meal but wasn’t blown away. The lemon rice soup was good although a little bland so I appreciated that they added a slice of lemon to the side so that I could doctor it if desired. The stuffed grape leaves were also quite good. The saganaki was bland and undercooked despite the rave reviews from so many others. Unfortunately, it was also what I had been looking forward to the most but the cheese wasn’t as cooked as I would prefer and failed to meet the gooey qualities I had been looking forward to. On a side note and not the reason for the rating but I was disappointed to not even get a single O-pah when it was lit on fire. Either way, the meal was good enough for me to want to go back and try more dishes in hopes of a better experience next time. Hopefully a better review next time.

My husband and I tried Spiro’s finally for our anniversary. It was a Friday night around 7pm, and we were seated right away. Our server was good. We did have a couple of times when he had disappeared for a while, but he was also waiting on a couple of large groups. I ordered the combination plate, because I love both moussaka and pastitsio. It was a bit more than I like to spend, but the bechamel was amazing! This is definitely more a special occasion place vs a regular stop for me, but it was an enjoyable night for our anniversary. Attire: on the nicer side.

As usual, Spiro’s provided an excellent meal. I had the 16 oz prime rib, perfectly cooked medium rare with a stuffed baked potato and a squash medly, and wife got the gyro salad(not on the menu – just ask for it). This is not fancy dress, but at least wear a collared shirt. The staff and owner are always very friendly. We have never had a bad meal at Spiro’s. While we don’t really drink much, the couple next to us, in their 70s and dressed formally, had before — dinner shots, wine throughout appetizers, entrée’, and desert, and followed it up with a shot of sambuka(sp.?) afterward). I hope I’m that cool when I’m in my 70s.

Good food. Regular options but done right. The complimentary bread could have been better. Got the Chicken Souvlaki and it was great. I wish they had options to chose for the side with the entrée. The veggies were not that great.

Stopped here for lunch today after driving to the St Louis airport on a practice run. Good find! Relaxing atmosphere with amber glass chandeliers, soft Rat Pack music. I’m finding more and more that the dining experience l really enjoy is one that can help me forget all the trouble in the world if but for an hour. This place did that for me. I had the special, chicken stuffed with spinach with a lemon wine sauce came with rice and broccoli. Great value at $ 10 especially since l took half home for dinner. It was excellent. My husband enjoyed his gyro and Greek beer. Lovely lunch!

We searched Unilocal for a nearby restaurant after a day of antiquing. We came up with this place and boy am I glad we did! Wouldn’t have chosen anything else. Everything was fantastic, including the atmosphere/wait staff!

I have been going to Spiros for years, and completely love it! The food is well prepared, drinks are good, and the staff is above average. Spiros has a amazing Early Dinning Menu that comes with three courses and a drink! If you can arrive early, it is a great way to save some money and beat the crowds. I am always torn between the Greek Salad and the Avgolemono(lemon chicken rice) Soup. Both are delicious. The pastas, lamb, fish, and steaks are all fantastic. Ingredients seem to be of high quality. Meat dishes usually served with a twice baked potato, you may sub a baked potato if you prefer. If you get a beef dish… have it Athenian Style… OMG so good!!! I have been to Spiros for romantic dinners for two up to large parties and have never had a bad experience. Find Spiros soon… it is worth trip.

The companies lawyer came by and said lets go to lunch. I knew where we were going because he has a serious like of Spiro’s. So here we go. I wanted to order the Gyros but I can’t spell tzatziki. I flipped the lunch menu to the back and saw what I wanted. The Lamb Shank. Since I am over 60 and there are rules about soup and 60 I started with the Greek lemon chicken soup. Then the lamb shank came out. It was not a shank it was darn near a whole leg of lamb. Served with rice and vegetables. I wish I did not get the soup because the shank was more than enough. Wonderful flavor cooked to beyond belief tenderness. Yes I ate it all and I am glad. I get to Spiro;s about once a year and I wanted to enjoy every last bit of the shank. The usual great service came with the usual great food. I think this place is every bit as good or better as any Greek place I have been to in Chicago.

Spiro’s is a unique spot, serving quality Greek cuisine. I’ve come here two years in a row now for New Year’s Eve dinner with friends. It’s a warm and inviting space, and you can tell they have earned the respect of many«regulars» because everyone seems to know each other. We ordered the Saganaki to start. This is a Greek Kasseri cheese dipped in beer batter and then flamed table side. It’s quite a show! It actually reminds me of fried mozzarella… it’s cheesy, gooey goodness! Only two wedges come in an order, so keep this in mind if you are dining with more than two people. I promise, you won’t want to share! We also split two salads… two of us shared the Athenian and two had the caesar. I had the Athenian. While it was good, I feel they skimped a bit by only adding one tomato slice, one cucumber slice, and one kalamata olive to go with the greens and feta cheese. Three of the four of us ordered the Athenian Filet. It’s topped with a cognac/mustard sauce and feta cheese. I ordered mine medium well, and it was served medium, but other than that, it was good. The filet is served with a vegetable medley and a dynamite twice baked potato. The fourth person in my party ordered a special Chilean Sea Bass, which he raved about. I recommend coming here if you’re looking for something a little different. Get the SAGANAKI!!! ;)

Nothing will get me to go west beyond 270 quicker then an International Supper Club gathering. What motivation to expand my horizons, eat with fellow Unilocalers and enjoy some international cuisine. The hospitality of Spiro’s was outstanding and my entrée was so good, I will be venturing west of 270 without the need of a ISC gathering. 10 vivacious foodies arrived at the Chesterfield Spiro’s around 6:30PM. I do not think Harry the Maitre d and Stacy our sensational server knew what they were in for, but they handled us all like champions. They made each one of feel special and unique. Stacy was incredible, that girl knew how to sell not only the steak, but the sizzle as well. Or in my case, she sold me on the Scallops. I love scallops, but already had selected what I wanted this evening. My mind was made up, so I thought. Then when Stacy in her perky, animated way described the grilled sea scallops on top of linguine, I was persuaded to change my order. I was so glad I did, those six huge sea scallops melted in my mouth. The grill marks were like I was eating a meaty steak. The bed of linguine underneath the scallops was filled with various fresh vegetables. Harry kept stopping by the table to check on us and making sure everything was good. However, with an outstanding server like Stacy we were in good shape and enjoying our night of Greek Cuisine. After a night at Spiro’s, I’m creating two new list; Sea Scallops and Sensational Service.
