The Hudson Valley’s pre-eminent landscape photographer Nick Zungoli has been capturing the Hudson River and worldwide travel since 1979.
History
Established in 1979.
When Nick Zungoli opened his photography gallery in Sugar Loaf, N.Y., he did so with a tenuous belief that photographers can make a living
selling their work and comforting assurance from his corporate boss that he always has a steady job to go back to if the photography doesn’t work out. That was 30 years ago. Since then, Zungoli has established
himself as a prominent landscape photographer and an esteemed member of the Sugar Loaf community. He opened The Exposures Gallery
in September 1979, and has never looked back. «I’ve been here for 30 beautiful years,» Zungoli said. «It’s an amazing thing.»
He said he’s wondered over the years whether he can sustain the interest and continue to «go out and make meaningful images.» But when he captures that moment when composition and light align, when, as he calls it, «the cross hairs line up,» he said he gets the same joy out of his work as he did 30 years ago.
