I’ve been eating here with my dad for 15 years now. It’s still the same exact service with really quality hot dogs. They 2.75 apiece basically, and I usually eat 4 – 6 of them, but I’m never mad after I take the first bite. It’s worth it. Let time slow down for you and remember the simple times.

Don’t be fooled by the other reviews from years ago. My wife and I just ate at Herb’s and it was one of the worst experiences we’ve had in a long time. As we walked in the door we were greeted with a scowl from the cook. After the less than pleasant sever took our order(2 – 2 dog specials) we quickly received our food. The hot dogs tasted like they were boiled, not grilled and a bit soggy. The steamed buns were mushy too. My wife left ¾ of her 2nd hot dog but I finished both of mine because I was starving! We normally love to support small businesses especially restaurants but we will never return to this establishment.

Great for locals but not something interesting for tourists or outsiders. Nice servers, but the dogs are sometimes too salty or burnt.

The top hot dog and soup restaurant around. Consistently perfect thick-skinned dogs, steamed buns, mildly spicy chili. Add to that some marvelous soups and a neighborhood feel, and you’ll drive from across town for Herb’s. This is a favorite Saturday lunch for me. Thanks for the consistency in food and customer service, folks.

Have been coming to Herbs for many years. Herb is gone but the hotdogs are still great. His wife, Bonnie, keeps the place rolling with Herbs secret recipe soups and those great Hormel hotdogs. I only gave 4 stars because the chili can be a little too spicy for me sometimes. If you haven’t gone, it’s a must try. Save some room for the homemade banana pudding!

Love this place– practically my home in great bridge– been going here since I was little and this place has the best hot dogs in the area– also SHECRABSOUPTHURSDAYS– so much crab meat in it… so delicious and such a deal. You can’t beat this place for value and a family atmosphere. These people will actually remember you and everyone’s always so nice!

I have not been here in many years. I finally went again yesterday and took my son. This place is still great with great food. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I do feel the prices are a bit high but the service is great.

Heard great things about Herb’s hot dogs and especially their soups. I will say that I was very excited to try their soup — it’s getting to be that time of year. However, I was sorely disappointed in just about everything about my experience there. It took a while before i was acknowledged at the counter and asked if I wanted a drink. I grabbed a drink out of the cooler at the front of the store — no fountain drinks. I ordered a hot dog with chili, mustard and relish and a cup of the soup of the day — navy bean and ham, for my meal. The hot dog was overdone and chewy on a decent roll. The soup could just as well have been a cup of warm water — it was the blandest soup I’ve ever had in a restaurant, zero taste and no seasoning. I did take home some of the other soup to give them a fair shake, but it was just as bland and lacking of seasoning as the previous one. Maybe I built it up too much in my mind based on the recommendation I received, but I will not be returning. Too bad.

This is a nice, decent hot dog joint. They aren’t the best at serving– usually because they are very busy, but they do try. I think it’s just that they have a poor setup when it comes to serving people. The most we’ve had to wait is five minutes for a waitress to take our order, but at five minutes, I go up to the register and get someone’s attention. No biggie, but I know that’d turn some people off. Their hot dogs are great. I love their spicy sausage with everything on it. You can’t just say«the works,» because I think that only includes 3 or 4 toppings. They won’t put the sauerkraut unless you specify. But when they do put everything on it, it is awesome. I also recommend their she-crab soup that is Thursday’s special. Herb, himself, used to visit everyone’s table and chat, before he passed away a year ago. He was a huge reason why we would go. His wife now runs it and is very sweet.
