For 7 years now I’ve had my Audi’s serviced at HB Motorwerks after my neighbor recommended them. Whether for routine service or specialized work the quality of their work has been superb, the price fair, and communication excellent. I’ve found everyone at the shop to be friendly and helpful. I routinely work on my Audi myself, from pulling the engine, swapping transmissions, suspension work etc., but when the job calls for someone who really knows their stuff I trust HB Motorwerks with my car. Audi/​VW owners in the Hampton Roads area are lucky to have this shop available to them.

Manager should learn how to speak to customers in a professional manner, I am not your drinking buddy, I am a customer. My payed request was not met. Old, rusted hardware was reused instead of replaced with new. Was hoping to make this my go to shop, but now it’s only there for last resort.
Below is my rating breakdown;
–Was my issue fixed? Yes, that earns 1 star.
–Was I greeted with proper customer service from manager? No, apparently i’m the managers pal to be talked to like that. No star.
–Was the work performed with quality? No, my special request that I asked for before I turned my key in was not met, no star.
–Was the price right? Could be better but still kinda high, especially for the lack of quality. No, no star.
–And finally the fact that old, severely rusted hardware was reused is what nailed it for me. No star.

Took both of our cars here, one Volkswagon and one Audi. They were amazing. Very honest and very quick! Definitely coming back! Great value. Highly recommend.

HB motorwerks is an awesome shop. They are probably the only place I fully trust to work on my VW. Everyone is very friendly and honest and you can count on them to get the job done right at a reasonable price. If you own a VW this is the place to go.

They have a great and friendly staff that know what they are doing.
I was quoted a fair price for the work I had done on my Jetta and it was done much faster than I was quoted.
I won’t bring The Volks anywhere else. Keep it up Ladies and Gentlemen.

The best VW/​Audi shop in the Southside of Hampton Roads! From routine maintenance to custom aftermarket builds, this is the place to go. I have three VWs (88 Jetta, 2008 R32, 99 Passat Wagon) and have had routine and custom work done for the past 2 years. They have done a turbo build on my wagon, performance tuning on all my cars, and a transmission swap in my Jetta; I could not be more satisfied! Price is always fair and service is top notch. Great people here who know the VW/​Audi platform very well. They don’t gouge the customer on price and always recommend only the necessary services, not to mention the use of only the best quality parts. If you are looking for a shop to trust to do work on your VW/​Audi, then this is the place to go. They have over 2 decades worth of experience with these cars and have builds to prove the quality of their work. Check them out on Facebook, too. 5 stars is not a high enough rating. HB Motorwerks is the best VW mechanic in Hampton Roads. They kept my 82 Rabbit running like a champ and now they are the only mechanic I will take my Passat to. I recommend them to every VW owner I know and every one has had a positive report back. The staff is really friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Best part about them is the pricing. Compare their prices with any other mechanic and you will end up at HB every time. Their custom work is great to. If a replacement part takes too long to ship or is unreasonably expensive, they will probably just make a new one at the shop.

For over 4 years, H. B. Motorwerks has been the only place I take my VW (a mk4 Golf) to be serviced. Lester and his crew are honest and hard working. They desire to do what’s right and they always keep me informed and never give me ‘the run around’. They tell me what things are urgent, and what can wait till my next visit. When urgent repairs are in fact needed I trust that, not only is the job being done right and with care, but also that I’m getting the best and most fair price. If you have a VW or Audi and you’re tired of questioning the quality of work and the high prices you pay at other shops and dealerships then you should ditch’em and come to H. B. Motorwerks. Here you will get a fair price and quality trained mechanics who believe in honest hard work.
