Hall Hyundai Chesapeake

Well I have to revise my earlier glowing report. The dealership put Va permanent plates on the car and proof of registration. The subsequently sent papers to register the car in NJ. They insist car must be registered in NJ. The problem is it was bought and is garaged in Virginia. Received NJ plates. One problem. In NJ you must take a slip to the DMV to get an inspection sticker for a new car. Did I mention I am in Virginia? I can’t get a straight answer out of any manager or anyone else. They promise to call back and don’t. I don’t know whether the Va plates THEY put on are valid. One person says they are. One person says they aren’t. Once I get this mess straight, I will never, ever buy from this dealership again. We have already purchased two. Five weeks later, and I’m not sure how I’m gonna straighten out the mess. I have had a great experience with Rich, purchasing both of our vehicles from him at Hall Hyundai Chesapeake. However, the service department could be better. I struggle with communication and validity of the service I am paying for. The prices are right in line with the competition, but (Besides Jonathan) I am not impressed with what they offer. I agree with other posts, the time is a factor and they often overbook appointments so there are 5 cars at 9 a.m. for oil changes… Annoying. Lack of communication is one of the biggest factors.

So often we as people make appointments so as to schedule our day, hall hyundai obviously had never gotten that memo. After making an appointment for 2 and dropping my car off I waited… and waited… and waited some more, at around 5 I inquired as to what the progress was on my vehicle, to my surprise and dismay it had still not even been touched by the service department, when I asked why, after 3 hours after my appointment it hasn’t even been looked at, the responses received was, «sorry they got kind of backed up». For real? Mind=blown

After my first review Hall Hyundai took steps to rectify the situation. It is apparent that they do actually care about their reputation. Joe Jensen has put in effort to keep me a happy customer. I guess they are not so bad after all.

I used to bring my car to be serviced by them and even drive out of my way to them. Recently when I brought my vehicle in I was waiting in the lobby and a customer was talking that he had to come back because his wiper he had changed put was not working like it should. I asked for my wipers to be changed which made me concerned. Well I ended up with the same issue. I came in a week later to have them changed. had the same problem and so we bought wipers from Walmart which actually WORK. Service was nice however. Do not buy accessories from them.

Hall Hyundai won. After shopping for a new car, visiting every other crook in Hampton Roads Hall Hyundai in Western Branch won our business.
I found the dealership through my insurance company and ended up getting a $ 3000 savings overall… They called I told them what I wanted and wanted to spend and they delivered. NO Hassle or Haggle… Very professional and Friendly service.
Love our new Hyundai, and hope the service center is as good as the sales department. Thanks Hall Hyundai you beat out at least a dozen other dealers in Hampton Roads.

I have had great experiences with the service department here! I have constantly been warned about doing service with dealerships as their prices are typically higher. Before each service I have researched typical price quotes for various locations and have gone into my services and been offered prices that mirror quotes from various establishments. The staff is very welcoming and friendly! I work in the customer service industry and I find their service to be excellent! The only time I ever had a problem, it was solved by comping the service I received; and knowing from experience that things happen, I was more than grateful and very pleased that they admitted and compensated for the issue without me evening having to address it; that is true customer service!

Bought our brand new 2013 sonata with Hall Hyundai! It’s great they are all over Hampton Roads area, we had went to Tysinger before and it was a total scam! The employees here are much nicer, they have a better selection, and most importantly better pricing/​financing!

After I wrote the review, I did complain to the main office in Virginia Beach.
I was contacted by Scott, one of the Managers at this location who wanted to make this right with me. They admitted they should not have sold the vehicle to me, and they were upside down on the vehicle because it needed a lot of work prior to my purchase. However, they wanted to make things right.
They asked if I would bring it back in to the service center for them to look at the vehicle, and Scott would contact me once they figure out what needed to be repaired and we would work something out. I dropped it off the night before my scheduled appointment and once again they kept it for 2 days without any contact on what was going on.
Eventually, I received a phone call acknowledging the issues I stated in the prior review. I asked when Scott would call me, and I was told I should recieve a return phone call by end of business on the second day. Surprise, I never received a phone call and any attempts to reach him were met with ignored messages and answering machines.
They acknowledged the issues, admited blame on their part and their response was silence. They knew they sold me a lemon and after they validated the fact they no longer wanted to speak with me.
Good thing I purchased the service contract with them. Peh… don’t ever get suckered into their lies. What a terrible investment and what a terrible organization.
Please avoid this place and buy a vehicle somewhere else. They sell you garbage and ram contracts down your throat in order to make a profit off of the giant repair bills on wheels they sell you.
Beware their lies and don’t support Hall with your patronage.
