History

Established in 1984.

In the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake, a dream was born and a vision was turned into reality. Over 29 years ago, one dedicated man set forth in providing a furniture shopping experience quite like no other. There were plenty of furniture stores in the area but the idea for this store was to be different. The «box stores» had firmly taken root and customer service was at an all time low. Great Bridge Furniture was going to be a store that changed all of that. There would be no commissioned sales people that pounced on customers the moment they walked in the door. Every customer that came into Great Bridge Furniture was to be «treated like family» it was our motto 29 years ago and we remain true to that motto to this day. We service more than Great Bridge, Hickory, and all of Chesapeake. Being conveniently located right off the 168-​bypass, we also service Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Moyock, Currituck, Elizabeth City, the Outer Banks, and many more North Carolina cities.

A Chespeake native, I enjoy photography as a hobby, and have run my furniture business successfully for 29 years. I am at the store every day, just so I can keep my finger on the pulse of everything that happens. I like to interact with my customers, to find out what kind of furniture they are looking for, & do my best to find it for them.
