Used our free night form to stay here. It is in kind of a random, middle-of-nowhere part of Chesapeake, but you can drive to some places easily enough, and it is close to 664. The room was very large, a nice sized living room area and two beds in the bedroom area. The room and bathroom were nice and clean. Furnishings in the hotel felt kind of cheap though, desk chair was broken and the TVs are old school big CRTs. There is a small indoor pool and exercise room. Pool was nice and warm although didn’t seem well vented, it was very humid in there. They were out of a lot of stuff when we went to breakfast, but fortunately they have a fridge and microwave in the room so we just heated up our leftovers from Spaghetti Eddie’s instead. So, some of the amenities aren’t great, but it is safe, clean, and has big rooms, so it works well as a three-star hotel.

Unlike the previous reviewers, 2 stars for the«meh. i’ve experienced better» is 110% exactly how I feel. I stayed here for two nights(Friday night — Sunday morning). Friday night overall went off without a hitch(minus the large party of children and their chaperones running around the hallway and making enough noise to be clearly heard through a closed door and over a tv AND heater running). There was a minor issue of the iron in the hotel room taking 20 minutes to heat up but the front desk staff did bring us one from a vacant room. Saturday morning, my guests and I awoke, washed up & left the hotel to go to an event. We returned to find that our room key no longer worked. We went to the front desk and after standing at the front desk for 25 minutes with no response the person that was supposedly working the front desk appeared and reactivated them. We then returned to the room to find that our towels and washcloths had been removed but not replaced with new ones. Upon calling the front desk we were told that they only had 3 washcloths currently because a large party just checked out and that we would have to come to the desk to get them. After awhile, we left the hotel again only to return to nonworking room keys. This time we were given new room keys. Upon entering the room once again we realized that we were almost out of toilet paper and that housekeeping had not left a new roll. Additionally, it was also noticed that our trash cans had not been emptied. Once again we were told to go to the front desk and pick up the toilet paper. After going out Saturday night, we returned to, guess what? Nonworking room keys. We were given another new key. Sunday morning came along and as we were sitting in the hotel room at roughly 9:45 housekeeping came into the room assuming we had already checked out ready to clean up. Please note that check out time is 12:00pm. The rooms themselves are wonderfully large, as well as the bathroom. The beds we’re very comfortable and the room did have a nice fresh scent upon opening the door. The heater/ac unit is extremely loud and the majority of the lighting was on the far end of the room. Leaving a random dark area between the doorway and back end of the room. Also, I was a little less than impressed with the«public bathroom stall» toilet paper holder. The breakfast had a nice little selection but the food wasn’t all that tasty. I stuck with the cereal & juices. Not sure how the free Otis Spunkmeyer cookies were since the large party and children and their chaperones cleared them out on Friday and they were not restocked until Sunday at some point after breakfast. Overall, I wasn’t impressed but then again as my headline says«I’m a choosy lover»… ;)

I stayed at this hotel for three nights during the July 4th, week 2012. The hotel is clean and the staff is Friendly. Tina the housekeeper goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The area is very quiet, and the breakfast is filling. There is a pool, and a lobby where you can unwind and read the free newspaper delivered on a daily basis. It is right off I-664 and 30 minutes or less to Virgina beach and other area attractions. i would definetly stay here again.

The Country Inn really helped us out and made sure we were taken care of when only wanted to point fingers. Thank you Country Inn! It’s really great when a business treats their customers with respect and does what’s right.
