Great staff and wonderful drinks. The food is even better. When the weather warms up this will be the place to be. Love it

Average food, horrible menu. Money would be better spent elsewhere. Place is empty during the week, that should be it’s own testimonial as to the time you are going to have there.

I wish for better! This place isn’t the best… Sucks all the money went into the upstairs and not the actual dining area… No one wants to have Mediterranean food in a sports bar…

We went there tonight (group of 4) and were disappointed at the door that the bouncer questioned my friend’s shoes (which were low-​top nice sneakers) and then when we got inside there was a $ 10 cover — this is a new bar and everyone outside/​coming in was at least 40+ years old. We didn’t stay long but the crowd was older and the drinks/​cover was expensive for the venue/​location. Good bars in Philadelphia don’t have a cover, but this place on 70? No thanks. We would go again if it were not so unnecessarily pretentious and overly expensive for the location.

I stopped in recently and was unpleasantly surprised. This venue has always been a fun bar where young people come to grab a beer. It seems their focus is on selling liquor and their Mediterranean menu. Sorry, but all previous owner’s have understood that the patrons want a selection of craft beer and well prepared bar food. Management at Vera, it seems you are very tech savy and are very active on social media. Please know word travels fast.
We were seated and ordered two beers from the almost non existent selection. To make matters worse the beer was watered down. To make matters even worse, the old frumpy lady (maybe a manager, I hope she is not the owner) almost knocked the breath out of me on my way to the restroom and didn’t even apologize, is this how you treat your paying customers? We couldn’t bring ourselves to order food after the watered down beer and nearly being bull dozed by this frowning lady. Learn how to treat your CUSTOMERS and EMPLOYEES with respect!
Im usually not a harsh rater and service can really add to an experience but not in this case. I debated posting a review at all but it’s safe to say I will never return, as long as its Vera Bar, anyway.

Stopped in to check out Vera under new ownership, started out the night at the downstairs bar with Ben and Kristen who were not only awesome bartenders but super friendly and funny as well !! The teriyaki wings were great! Highly recommend checking out this new spot.

Sat at the bar Saturday night. Food was good and the bartenders Ben and Kristen were terrific. They were very friendly and made great drinks. There was a great mix of a crowd there.

I had to pick up something across the street, and I stopped by here about 5PM for a happy hour beer earlier this week. Unimpressed. Place screamed «Not really open!». Happy hour specials consisted of $ 3 Stella drafts and $ 3 Yuengling bottles. Bar menu was pricey. The place was DEAD… it was me, a 50-​something guy and an elderly couple. I imagined crickets chirping, and maybe they were, but I could not hear them because of the (ahem) music which I think is considered «contemporary R&B» (I have a much more politically incorrect name for it). Female bartender was friendly, I felt sorry for her. Speaking only from the happy hour experience, I don’t see how this place is going to do any better than its predecessor. Maybe (hopefully) they do well on the club and catering ends of the business. I do wish them luck. Maybe I will check back in the spring.

Bartenders have no clue what/​if they have specials or what’s on draft or where any top shelf liquor is or how do use the pos system or how to give change. The bar menu is sad but expensive and if they can find the regular menu be ready to spend a lot of money at a place that can’t perform the simplest tasks so dropping $ 30 on a filet is ballsy. Place has no identity but I decided to go 2x hoping the grand opening was just a bad night. Better off waiting and hoping that after this places closes the next owners will have a plan

1^st time back since they opened as Vera. Horrible! Sign out front said happy hour specials 4 – 7. I asked the bartended about happy hour and was told «we aint doin it yet» So we order a beer and bartender literally overcharged us for drinks. When I asked @ my change and he said he assumed the change was a tip?! $ 4 tip on a single beer??? The place was dead as well! Avoid in my opinion.
