Expert Handyman Contractor

My husband and I recently moved into a new home and thought we could renovate our kitchen ourselves… and we have a baby on the way in about a month. Everything was taking longer than expected so when we finally got to the point where we were ready to install the tile and cabinets, we decided to hire someone. We found Expert Handyman Contractor through Unilocal and couldn’t have been more pleased! I called several companies, but Steve was the quickest to respond. He came out to my house the same night I called to give me a quote, which wound up being the best quote we received. He was able to squeeze us into his schedule a few days later as he was about to leave for a trip, and we didn’t want to wait until his return. Steve and his team were able to install the tile and cabinets in just two days! Well… they would have been able to install it all in two days if our plumber hadn’t set the plumbing too low for the cabinets (the lower pipes were set at the exact level of the cabinet base so there was no way to install the cabinet correctly without moving the plumbing. Steve and his team were willing to come back the following day after we had our plumbing moved. He didn’t even charge extra! We also had some issues with our cabinets that they were able to help us problem solve. This was by far the best part of our kitchen renovation project we’ve had and I couldn’t be more thankful to Steve! I wish I had just hired him in the beginning to do the whole project.

I have nothing but praise and accolades for the job that Steve and his crew (mainly Rich) did on our kitchen remodel. I asked for a LOT. I’m talking gutting the place, rewiring electrical, moving plumbing lines (with only a small crawl space to work in, no less!), etc. I also have a meticulous eye for detail. Luckily for me, Steve shares that same great eye for detail and a work ethic to match. His craftsmanship is #1. Not once did I question his honesty and integrity, unlike many contractors that I unfortunately let into my homes before Steve. He is so honest that he kept every single little receipt for me so when it came time to settle the bill, every penny was accounted for. By that time, I would have practically trusted him with my life, so I didn’t even look too closely. He takes the time to explain things patiently, never gets flustered, and when he suggests design details or a cost saving alternative, he’s spot on. When my kitchen was most messy and demolished with holes everywhere, I just looked at his calm, smiling face and knew everything would turn out OK and that my space was in good hands. He charged an embarrassingly low price for the work he did and the amount of hours he and Rich put into this job, but he did it because he really cares about his customers and the money seems to come second in priority for him. I will never ever use anyone else for my contracting needs as long as Steve is around!

I hired Steve for a kitchen remodel job (floors, cabinets, walls, countertops). I have never felt the need to go out of my way to actually write a review on Unilocal,but I feel very strongly that people should be acknowledged for exceptional work. I was very skeptical about hiring a smaller contractor using Unilocal,but the estimates from some bigger companies seemed really inflated and I was working with a smaller budget, so I had a few smaller groups out for estimates. Steve was ready to come out for an estimate immediately. The estimate was incredibly reasonable compared to what I had received from several other contractors and probably a third of what Home Depot proposed. He seemed knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything that I needed to have done, so I accepted his bid. Steve really exceed my expectations with the final result, but there was a lot beyond the quality of work that made me want to make sure Steve gets the credit he deserves. First, Steve never steered me wrong the entire time the work was done. I have no imagination for kitchen remodeling, so I had to trust a lot of Steve’s recommendations and I was really happy about trusting every single one of them. If there was something that I insisted on, Steve would certainly do what you ask, but I definitely appreciated his insight either way. Steve will go out of his way to make absolutely sure that you are 100% satisfied about every bit of work he does. He truly aims to please; taking care of his customers is his main priority (and really, his only priority). I am actually surprised there are not more reviews on here about the great work and business that Steve does. I think that is a shame, because I really believe that he deserves more credit judging by the work that I have had done. Steve is a good businessman, does good work and completes the job with integrity. He will do anything you ask if he can and if it is within reason. He does not add on any surprises to his original estimate. If there is something that he suggests that will cost extra, he will make sure you are aware of any additional costs before you agree to anything. He keeps the cost up to date and the customer consistently informed. Steve is always available for questions, never be afraid to ask anything. Steve will have an answer and if it is a concern, he will address it and make sure you are happy with the result. He is always quick to get back to you, which really helps to put you at ease as the work is done. He is incredibly accommodating and I cannot say enough about that aspect of his business. My kitchen looks great and I am really happy that I was able to do it without getting ripped off by a big name company. If you have gotten to read this review, bring Steve in to do your job, you will NOT be disappointed. I would not have posted this for anyone that did not deserve the credit. If Unilocal had more than 5 stars to give, I would give them to Steve. I could go on for pages writing reasons why you should hire Steve, but to be more helpful I have attached a handful of side by side before and after pictures of the job (apologies for any lighting issues in the pictures, The lighting fixtures were installed after these pictures were taken).
Great experience, great price, I would recommend Steve to anyone I know.

Had a leak in the attic following a major storm and had no previous issues with my roof, I needed someone to come in and fix it and repair the ceiling damage ASAP — I had a contractor coming out but he was not very responsive and didn’t tell me when he’d be there, and I had taken a work-​from-​home day just for this. Steve picked up as soon as I called, said he’d check in with me to see if he’s free today, called back exactly when he said he would and said he could be there in 15 minutes. He showed up, quickly determined the source of the water (a nail sticking out), climbed up onto the roof and repaired it. Then called in his brother to repair the ceiling where the water damage was and he also arrived very quickly and started working instantly. I couldn’t be happier and I got a fair price for everything, great experience overall. :)

Steve Steve Steve, where do I begin? I wish I’ve known about him sooner! I used him a few times and was very pleased every single time! Not only was the work amazing, there was NO mess! I never had to clean up after him or his workers! Very easy to work with and super super friendly! I used him for some small jobs and some big ones. I would definitely recommend him to anyone! Turns out that Steve was out of the country for a bit while someone else was handling his business … not so well. Steve contacted me immediately from his over seas destination and apologized profusely about the lack luster work that was done to my house and the subsequent bad follow up/​lack of communication from his man in charge.
Upon his return to the states, Steve scheduled a time with me to personally assess and remedy my roof situation. I greatly appreciate the effort that was made and would be happy to call on Steve again for home projects that exceed my skill level.

We had just bought a house and it needed a lot of upgrading! We were working on a budget as to whats needed to be done first. Called Steve and he came out right away to give us estimates and not only he gave us good pricing to do the work but also gave us a lot of good advices ! He is truly a one stop handyman. I was amazed that whatever we needed done he can do! We are very happy with all the work he had done in our bathrooms, kitchen and crown moldings throughout the whole house ! Steve and his crew works quickly and promptly ! Oh… and no mess were left behind ! We are looking to refinish our basement in the future and are definitely going to call on Steve to do the work ! I would recommend Steve to all my friends !

I had purchased a new dish washer and noticed the kitchen floor was caving in when I took out the old one. We ended up having to remodel the kitchen, with no planning. Steve and his crew do excellent work and are frriendly and easy to deal with. Approximately 90% of the time I called the phone was answered and if not the call was returned within a short time. Also showed up when they said they would. There were some minor headaches in picking cabinets, countertops, etc. which had more to do with our tastes versus his. Annoyances were minimal as compared to other contractors I have dealt with in the past. I would hire Steve again.
