Bolt Bus Cherry Hill

The bus stop without parking is sad. That’s the only major ding. Easily the bus could pull into Cherry Hill NJT station which has ample public parking and is a safer loading area. Or it could stop at the Mt. Laurel Greyhound Station just down the road about a mile, that it passes anyway on the way to the NJ Turnpike at X4.
On the plus side the NY bus stop for this bus is again at a subway stop. This is the new Hudson Yard stop for the #7 subway. This makes the trip much more time efficient.
On the other plus side the Turnpike is widened from x6 to 8A which greatly helps with commutes at busy times.
Overall I think that owner company Greyhound could put more love into Bolt. But it does somewhat work well and is a valuable alternative to what NJT doesn’t provide but should with taxpayer dollars.

Cherry Hill —– NYC route review
i’ve been taking BoltBus for the past 2 years for work. Not daily… but weekly trips. Some of the negative reviews are fairly accurate but i think you have to put it into a different perspective, particularly those that travel on Bolt often compared to those that took it once or twice.
The Cherry Hill «mall» stop isn’t really at the mall. Its on route 38. The route going to NYC is on the corner next to the NJ Bus stop (Target and Kohl’s exit area). Basically stand by the telephone poll and thats where the door opens to board. The route going back to Cherry HIll drops you off on 38 in front of the Red Lobster.
For the most part, Bolt Bus has been on time for most pick ups and mostly ontime or early for drop offs. The trips that are late, in my experience, has been due to the weather (rain, snow, ice, etc). The wait can be unbearable since its an outdoor «waiting area». But everyone should know that before buying a ticket. This isn’t greyhound or the train that drops you at Penn Station. If the weather is bad, just know the bus driver will have to drive slower too, so drop off time will be later as well.
Some drivers and staff members are better than others. (Shout out to Karen, she’s really nice and a safe driver). I don’t like the fact that they don’t let ticket holders board until a certain time, but that «kinda» makes sense for A ticket holders running a little late (losing a seat that they may have preferred). But during bad weather? let standby people wait outside.
There were only a few occasions that outlets didn’t work. That was fine, i just slept. I prefer the buses with the leather seats (newer) and they have seat belts. During 2014, NJ had multiple bus accidents and having a seat belt just made me feel more safe during my commutes. The leg space is definitely good for an average person. I’m 5’7 and its comfortable. Can’t speak for taller people. The WiFi is hit or miss. I tend to just have movies/​tv shows downloaded on my tablet already or just listen to music.
I’ve taken the Chinatown bus, the Yo Bus, and the Megabus… i took them all ONCE… and that was one too many times. Those bus services are horrendous. Megabus double deckers take forever to get to Philadelphia. But if you are on a budget and have time to kill, take that.

I was on the bus and my boyfriend was less than a half a block away running and the bus driver says «we can’t wait you either get on or get off» and he’s fuckinfg watchin my boyfriend running to the bus??? Like dude! Wtf??? Never will I do this again and now we have to wait an hour and a half for the next nyc to Boston bus and pray to god there are seats on each one of the worst days ever

Love the Bolt Bus. $ 12 from Cherry Hill Mall to 33^rd and 10^th Ave. It’s so cheap it’s less than the tolls on the NJ Turnpike. And we usually meet the nicest people while waiting for the bus. Hmmm. You know it is so cheap, that this possibly is an hallucination. Maybe this isn’t NYC. Maybe I’m in a nursing home in NJ thinking about that NYC place in my dreams…
Nope. My honey’s here, too. This must be real. But ya know what. .. the seats weren’t all that comfortable and the wifi didn’t work, so 4, not 5 stars for you, Mr. Bolt.

This stop is in the middle of a highway but it’s SO convenient for trips from my house to New York. Right by the mall, too, which is awesome. This place allows me to commute between Philly and New York for work, which is awesome.

Took Bolt Bus to NYC from Cherry Hill on ¹²⁄₂₁.
…I know I am insane for going to NYC the Saturday before Christmas.
The stop is at the corner of 38 and the intersection to get to Target, Kohls, etc.
Bus arrived about ten minutes late. Bus was comfortable, had a bathroom, and outlets to charge your phone or any other electronic device.
Be warned — if you are planning on going to Times Square or Central Park you will have to walk a little from the Bolt Bus stop. It is not too bad of a walk, but a lot of people on our bus were complaining.
It is super close to the High Line Park, which you absolutely need to see if you will be in NYC.
Arrived on time to depart. Dropped us in front of Red Lobster on 38.
All in all, a good experience. Would most likely not rely on Bolt Bus if I had somewhere to be at a specific time once arriving in NYC.
For the price, Bolt Bus is pretty great.

Of all the bus companies that will take you between Phila area and NYC, bolt bus is probably the most comfortable AND reliable, and would be eligible for 5 stars! However, the Cherry Hill stop is treated very much like an afterthought. The problems that exist are:
1– There is supposedly no parking, officially, at this stop. What good is a «park n ride» with no parking whatsoever? It is not very pedestrian friendly, either, unless you live in the neighboring towers.
2– As others have noted, don’t buy or expect to receive the priority seating at this stop under any circumstances, since you’re boarding at an intermediate stop. At the first stop, Philadelphia, passengers will take all of the best seats.
3– The website was under construction for six months. It’s nice to have maps and other location info. back now, but wow!
What redeems Cherry Hill bolt bus is that they are a quick way to get to NY, once you overcome these hurdles. Plus, they have a rewards program, where you can sign up to get one free trip with them after every eight legs, as long as there is no inactivity for 18 months in between. And they are the only game in town.
Helpful hint: Bolt Bus is extremely likely to sell out in advance, so reservations in advance are not only encouraged, they are mandatory.
